I am not a designer, however, just a consumer that likes to high-end design my own stuff. I have a designer for certain things but do lots myself. I'm that type that has to (gasp!) Pay for my own samples! I have consistently been annoyed by the 'to the trade only' dead ends on everything. Even my spouse is a professional wallpaper hanger but when trying to buy some wallpaper he often gets that trade = designers and architects only, not installers. It gets really old. And, um, they are trade. Is this how designers stay in business? I respect good designers a lot but find this practice dated and frustrating. I inquired with KDR locally when trying to price/buy a certain sofa. I knew several specific designs I was looking for and had my own material. Generally I end up having to purchase online because locally I hit these "to the trade only" dead ends but this time, I was going to try KDR since it appeared on their site that they sell furniture to consumers. After inquiring, I get asked questions like "are you remodeling or updating decor? Do you have a designer? Where did you find the sofas?" I thought these were strange questions. I just want a sofa and obviously I found them in the manufacturer's catalog but why does this matter? I emailed and asked for a quote, answered the questions and again asked for a quote and never got a quote. I was told she needed to "check with my designer before proceeding". In comparison, I called 3 North Carolina stores and had a quote immediately with no questions asked. Back to the interwebs.

We have…read moreworked with two other St. Louis area companies for custom drapes in our home, and Discount Draperies far exceeds the other two in price, customer service, selection, craftsmanship and installation. I wish I had found Norma O'Bryan of Discount Draperies long ago. Our most recent experience (in 2021) with a different drape company cost us twice the amount per window, took nearly three times as long to have the drapes made and installed. What's worse, is that I'd call four times and leave a message before I would receive a call back. Norma is amazing to work with. She is very responsive. She came to our home with countless fabric and trim samples. She counseled us on fabric, styles, colors and hardware. Our drapes were made by her local workroom within the time Norma estimated, and Norma's installation person, Josh, did an excellent job installing them while Norma was here with him to ensure our satisfaction. We are so pleased!

We went to this store with my son . and daughter-in-law Sunday. They were having a big sale and…read morepatio furniture was in the parking lot. We looked around for about 15 minutes before a sales lady (Tammy) came out. My daughter-in-law showed her what we were looking at and found out only certain sets were on sale but were not marked accordingly. She asked for all their information before going in to get them pricing on the two sets they liked. She then said that it was going to take her at least 20 minutes to put together a quote ( a quote? what about pricing) . she recommended letting her email it to them instead which they agreed. Tuesday afternoon i called the store manager (Cary) and explained what happened and she apologized and asked how to make it right and offered an additional 20% off. I told her to call my daughter-in-law if she wanted to try to salvage. Instead she had someone named Shannon email a price on one set and not all the pieces and at the wrong prices. I emailed back that it was embarrassing and to have Cary call me and to date no call back. This store will not be in business much longer treating customers the way we were treated. Don't waste your time shopping here, its not worth the stress for prices higher than most in St Louis.

February 2025 my countertops are installed, but some minor damage to my cabinets…read more the quartz installers were absolutely reassuring me that Stone Trends has people who will repair the damage to my satisfaction. A subcontractor came out a month later, March 25, 2025 and measured. I've called Stone Trends and the subcontractor who keeps saying "I promise I'm going to get to you" I think two months later he could have squeezed me in for a small job that happened 3 months ago. Stone Trends needs to keep their word to me, its too late to keep patient.
