I've retained Oakwoods for snowplowing, and do not recommend them. Although they do an adequate…read morejob snowplowing, and normally have reasonable rates (for low-volume snow), they increase their rates dramatically for any snow amounts over 6-inches (Four times their normal rates) and don't tell you this until AFTER they have already plowed. Also, they are not very timely so if you need to get out of your driveway in a hurry, select another plowing company. When I raised my concerns to the company about being notified after the fact that they were quadrupling their rates, and about the overall cost for one plow event, they told me I could go elsewhere -- so I did! From a customer service standpoint, at a minimum, they could have at least expressed appreciation for my business (I did pay the bill, even though I disagreed with it) and they could have apologized for not notifiying me ahead of time of the increase in rates. The good news is that I was very quickly able to locate two other plow companies in my area that charge less than half of what Oakwoods charges, and will plow more frequently during snowstorms (I heard very good reports from people I know who used these other companies -- I will review separately elsewhere).

Perennial Connection abandoned our job and stopped responding to us…read more John Hod charmed us with his personality at first. We hired him in October 2018 to restore and modify our existing retaining wall. Soon after, he bait and switched us with another contractor, Mike Masciarelli, aka: Randy on Call. To this day I have never met Mike. Mike was supposed to be the "communicator" and "project manager" while John would be the mason. 6 months later the job is less than half done and both John and Mike have been MIA for over two weeks at this point. In fact, there are parts of our existing retaining wall that are in worse shape than before we hired Perennial Connection. John demolished some portions for upgrading and they currently remain demolished because they never returned. Throughout these past 6 months of torture John and Mike would go days - even a week plus - without responding. Then a text would appear: "sorry we'll be there tomorrow" to tide us over. Then they would fail to show up again. John and Mike are also poor at taking direction and/or poor masons. I'm a designer myself so was able to provide very detailed drawings of what we wanted. The little work that they did do wasn't what we spec'd and it was sloppy. The lack of communication and attention to detail is astounding. DO NOT hire these people. They will more than disappoint you. They will torture your mind and steal your money without delivering what they promise.

Tom is the most responsive contractor I have ever worked with and the speed in which this company installed a sizable paver stone patio, in a great design patter including wall was incredible. In two days my backyard was turned into an oasis of beauty and they were careful to level, put down the right material and cut each stone to specifications. They even suggested designs and added a wall. The patio is unbelievable and it was done quickly and with no mess. They even replanted grass and cleaned up the entire area. It looked like they never were there! I would highly recommend this service for their quality and communications and timeliness.

Initially when I hired Florianos he told me he would come plow for 6 inches or more . Today he showed up at my parents house for 2-3 inches of snow and tried to say they had to pay him for that service . Florianos then yelled at my dad and told him not to snow blow the driveway because he was hired to do it . Unfortunately that was not the case and he plowed the driveway and told my parents to pay him . All of a sudden they also changed the prices on them saying it's an extra 5.00 for the service . We were never provided a quote from Florianos and there is a huge language barrier here . Florianos has now been confrontational with my elderly parents . Buyer beware as they are out there tricking and taking advantage of elderly people .
