New to El Paso Jacob was doing work next door i decide to use him On a bunch of work I needed done grass installation of trees installed lights Being an honest person I paid them up front from that point it was a nightmare getting him out here to do the job when he did do the job nothing was done right when I called him to fix it you couldn't get ahold of him I had sprinklers cut when he put my grass in he cut All my sprinkler lines He also hired somebody to do some welding work the guy went into my fuse Box without my permission and now my fuses in my house breaker goes on and off He said it wasn't his problem and I need to call electrician there are too many good companies in El Paso stay away from this one and tell everybody not to do business with this company... read more

I hired Jacob to put pavers in the front yard, extend a wall, and replace a metal gate; most of which he outsourced. His welder accidentally had me pay $250 to him which Jacob up sold to grand. The folks he outsourced the wall to showed up drunk, drank on my property and left a mess of concrete in the garden next to the wall complete with cigarette butts. Jacob did the pavers himself which he substituted for the cheapest flagstones he could. They ended up turning white because he did not seal them. He also broke the water line to my house when installing. He fixed it but a couple of months later my yard was flooded. He came and 'fixed' it again and never repaired the flagstone landscaping he installed so my yard is trashed. He keeps ghosting me about fixing it. He was the cheapest quote I found, but he extorted me out out of few more grand for material and clean up which he said was part of the deal. I did extensive research on finding a good contractor to do my backyard. As a single mom, it's tough to budget and raise two kids by myself. My backyard was horrible and my kids couldn't play in it. I finally had saved enough to get it redone and was excited to find a good contractor. After having about 10 contractors come out and not be able to fit in my budget, Jacob came out and told me he could do it with my budget. He layed out the plan and ensured I was aware of every decision he made and included me in the plan. We laid out a good contract, and he got started right away, and even met his deadline. Do not trust Jacob Estorga as far as you can spit. I hired him to landscape the front lawn to include artificial grass and a complete irrigation system for trees/plants to be added later. Jacob didn't install the complete irrigation system as provided in our contract. He faked most of it. What he didn't fake leaked like a sieve. If you hire him inspect his work daily and don't give him any money until you are completely satisfied he completed all work and demonstrates to you everything is working. read more

I called Jacob twice to set up an appointment for an estimate for him to do my yard and both times he did not bother to call me to tell me he wasn't coming. Jacob did a really awesome job!! Him and his crew were always in contact with me about what was going on, and he was happy to make any changes to make sure I was happy with the end result. The few reasons why I dont give him 5 stars is because they took a little bit longer to finish the job, the cement cracked a little bit and there were some details that i think could have been done better. That being said, the price was reasonable, I love my backyard and it looks amazing!! read more

Jacob is such a great contractor and landscaper!!! I have used Jacob twice , once for our backyard and again for the front and he always passed our expectations. He completely transformed our house from an eye sore to the best looking in the neighborhood. He does request 50% of the job to be paid the day he begins work but to protect your self and his business , he does type out a contract itemizing all the work being performed and have you sign every time a payment is made. I am just like everyone else and was very nervous the first time I did this because I was afraid he would run off but this was not the case and never was. For our back yard He cleaned up the yard, leveled ,installed irrigation system , sod and landscape all in 5 Days ! Every time I got home, more and more progress was made each day. I was impressed by the speed and quality! For our front yard was a much bigger project and Jacob wowed is again with his work. We did the same process with the contract and to pay half the day he started and this time I was glad to pay him with out hesitation knowing that he is good for it . He cleaned up the front removing about 4 dumpsters of just dirt, spayed herbicide , installed rock and some artificial grass to give the house not such a dry look , and some lighting that really adds to the house. He also poured cement to extend our driveway. Jacob prices are reasonable and his quality of work is outstanding. I am thankful I found such a great contractor him and had an great experience through the entire process! I would Recommend Jacob to anyone that needs a high quality landscape job done. Jacob Astorga and his assistants(s) did an EXCELLENT job on front/side yard Landscaping! I would Highly recommend him! He is Honest and true to his quote. I requested a cedar pergola and went all they way to Las Cruces to purchase the Cedar wood! He is his own Boss, works on his schedule, pretty true to it. He is not an 8 to 5 man! HIGHLYL, but he gets the Job Done! It took a Little more than 2 weeks for my landscaping, but there was rain, illness, & a holiday. I had just returned from escorting my handicapped 84-year old mother on an overseas odyssey when my wife informed me of a serious pothole growing in our driveway. Needless to say, this was the result of when I was "concrete happy" after purchasing a new electric mixer some 20 years ago. However, I'm not nearly that young nor as strong from those early days, and I worked up a list of potential companies to do this work. Of the three, only one responded, and did they ever respond! I met owner JACOB ASTORGA while pedaling from one contact to home. He quickly agreed to visit my home to observe and give me an estimate of how much to replace a 22' X 8' rectangle in my driveway. I figured anything under $1000usd was reasonable, and Jacob was quite reasonable. He preferred cash payment, half after the old concrete removal (to pay the Mini-Mix driver), half upon completion. I hired him in the late afternoon, once I had completed that day's obligation of donating platelets to UBS-East and sorting more of my travel bag. Unbelievably, I heard muffled pounding by (09:00) the very next morning, and upon investigation, found Jacob breaking up my poorly laid slab of two decades ago. Even more surprising was that he had ordered fresh Mini-mix 3000 pound concrete to be brought in at (14:00), only five hours later. Soon thereafter, the rest of his crew, Arturo & Javier, showed up to complete the old concrete removal, install the new, and finish the job by (16:00). To say the least, I was shocked, and very, very glad they did the work. It would have taken me at least a month to do this, and certainly not nearly as fantastic a job as what they did in a fraction of the time it'd take me. Not only are they extremely professional, but the curb appeal of my home has increased many times. They are extremely fast, efficient, and expert in every way. These guys are GOOD! I highly recommend them for any kind of outdoor work you might need. They are quite reasonably priced, and are the best I've ever seen. I'm now questioning myself about how much more of my concrete jobs they'll be able to fix?! But that remains to be discussed with the boss. We hired Bedrock and Jacob Astorga to build us a flowerbed, install a irrigation system, lay sod, drop concrete for a outdoor kitchen area with a pergola over the kitchen. The first time we met Jacob we explained that he would have to level the entire yard to the level of the existing sidewalk of the house. Jacob stated that we need not worry because he knew what he was doing and what to do. Jacob stated the entire job would run about $8600.00 he stated he would need $4850.00 for materials to start. I made a receipt for him to sign since he said he could not give me one till his office would type one so he signed my receipt for the $4850.00 I gave him. He stated that money would be for concrete, flowerbed materials, sod, and material to build the pergola. Jacob first installed the irrigation system and left for a few days then returned with a Bobcat tractor to start leveling but he also had started someone else building the flowerbed. Jacob left that day and after going outside to check we realized the ground was not level and that he did not bring in extra soil to level with the house sidewalk. We called him and he stated for us "NOT TO WORRY, THAT HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING AND ALL WOULD BE l LEVEL". Jacob came back a day or two later to drop off stone veneer and cement to put on the flowerbed which was not what we picked. We asked Jacob why they were installing the wrong veneer and he stated "I PICKED THIS COLOR BECAUSE IT HAS WHITE LIKE YOUR HOUSE AND IS THE NEW AND POPULAR COLOR" my wife told him she didn't like the white stones mixed in the box and being placed on the flowerbed so he told her not to worry he would paint the while ones whatever color we wanted which he did after they finished the flowerbed which we complained about it not being two feet high instead of one foot. During this time we continually warned him about pouring the cement in the kitchen area without it being level. I went on to tell him I was a disabled Vietnam Veteran with several issues of health including walking. We told Jacob we needed a level surface in order for others not to fall including ourselves. We told Jacob several of our family members had also expressed a concern with the uneven not level dirt where the slab of cement was going to be poured for our kitchen area. Jacob stated "GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO POUR THE CEMENT AND LET ME DO MY JOB, THEN ALL OF THE PIECES WILL COME TOGETHER". Jacob poured the cement and the sidewalk area alongside of the flowerbed only to result in a totally uneven cement surface area in the kitchen area and a cracked uneven sidewalk alongside the flowerbed with no runoff for the water to disperse. The day that Jacob and his brothers poured the cement they just left after spreading and stamping it. We immeadiately started to call him and complain about the disaster job he had done. He continued to disagree and told us we were wrong and the cement was level. Days later he bought over Mr. Estevan Martinez who owns Martinez Remodeling to start setting up cinderblock to build the kitchen area. Jacob left Martinez in our backyard and departed. When we went to speak to Martinez to see who he was he gave a card and stated Jacob hired him to make the kitchen but he stated that Jacob never told him he would have to work a miracle to build the kitchen on such a uneven slab. Martinez told us that was the most uneven cement slab he had seen and that he would have to use a lot more cement to try and make the kitchen area where the grill, smoker, refrigerator, and sink were going to go. He suggested we call Jacob back and tell him he would need a lot more material to do the job. When I called Jacob he stated he would handle Martinez. Later that day I saw him outside and went out to talk to him. Jacob was being told by Martinez that the uneven slab would have to be repaired before trying to build the kitchen and so Jacob refused and told Martinez to build it on the slab the way it was. I told Jacob that it was all wrong and he stated "I'M PAYING THIS GUY $250.00 PER DAY AND HE'LL DO IT MY WAY". Jacob left and continued to drop off cinderblock and cement and Martinez kept on building the kitchen area on an uneven surface. When I called Jacob to again tell him he was making a mistake he stated the kitchen would be even when Martinez finished and I told him we needed to talk. Jacob came over once again Martinez and I tried to convince him to redo the damage to all the concrete work and at that time Jacob became upset telling me that it was our fault that the cement slab was uneven because we kept changing our building plans. Jacob further stated rudely that my status as a Disabled Vietnam Vet was a play and the slab did not have to be even. He told Martinez to gather his equipment put it in his truck because he was stopping the job in its entirety . Everyone left and we were left with unfinished, uneven cement slab, unfinished overall job and out $7050.00 he took with nothing to show for it. read more

Terrible work. If looking for landscaping or concrete work, look elsewhere. Hired Jacob to do a built in BBQ grill and three bars with concrete counter tops. Firstly, Jacob assured it would take him seven days to complete job. It took him 27 days to complete. Work was inferior and very sloppy. Did not use rebar as stated in contract for concrete counter tops and concrete counter tops are sagging and not level. We had him do them over, and again he did not use rebar and results were the same. Have cracks all over counter tops. We asked him to stone veneer around grill and all columns. He used different size veneer for 1 of the 6 columns. When he went to acid stain the counter tops, he got acid on our patio floor and now we have a white stain on our patio floor. He then proceeded to glaze and seal all concrete and stone veneers but did not cover my $2000 brand new grill and got sealer overspray all over my stainless steel grill. He also got over spray on my grass all along the entire patio and burned my grass. Weather proof cover for electrical outlet was installed upside down. Did not sweep concrete before applying sealer and we now have bits of concrete and stone veneer stuck to our floor. Very sloppy work. Would give him zero stars if possible. Stay away from this contractor. read more
