Went for an early dinner with the fam and although it looked busy, there were still plenty of seats inside. I get an Italian restaurant vibe from the décor in this place, not a diner, but I'm not complaining; I liked that more 'upscale' look. Waters were brought immediately to the table, and we settled in with the menus. Our waitress overall, was just not friendly. She tried to be, but seemed anxious to be done with us and made a few jokes with a straight face so.. maybe they weren't jokes afterall? She made the entire dinner experience loose a star. Most of us started with the French onion; a usual diner staple and it was excellent and how I expected, comfort soup. Ladies had plain burgers, eggplant parm and I had the mussels app. I forgot it wasn't a legit Italian joint, otherwise I don't think I would have ordered seafood. Burgers were big, but the plain version just looked SAD! I would have loaded mine up with goodies like cheese, shrooms and sauce but oh well, they wanted them bland. The size for the price was a deal either way. Mom's eggplant parm over angel hair looked ok, I wasn't convinced she LOVED it..still ate it though. My mussels were ok, but for $11, I was hoping they would have been legit PEI and a decent size. There were a little over a dozen of them, but dude, they were baby mussels. They fit on one prong of my fork. Out of the bunch there were 2 decent mouth hole sized bites. The rest should have been thrown back and gone through puberts first. I was content but I knew I was going to be hungry again within a few hours (and I was by 10pm. Oh well) I would return to try something else for sure. The place was clean and service fast- I would just hope on a next trip that same waitress would have the day off bc she was a scowly-face. I went to the Beekman Square Diner tonight for the first time, and I have to say that my experience was fantastic! We ordered the Potato Chip Fondue as an appetizer and it was heavenly. I had the cheese ravioli with meatballs and my boyfriend had the chicken chipotle panini, and both dishes were amazing! The portions were big, the food was fresh, and the service was friendly and fast. The owner even stopped by to see how our meal was. I really enjoyed my dining experience and I will certainly go back for more! read more

It just wasn't our day - Sun 7/1419 - wife got chicken noodle soup (macaroni NOT noodles!) and I got corned beef hash/two eggs over easy/hash browns. Wife's soup way too salty and flavorless. Wish she has spoken up before she was almost finished. I tasted it and agreed! My hash browns and corned beef kind of burned. I have had better has from a can. Eggs, no complaint. Waitress Rachel got 20% tip because she was really very good. I was not in a complaining mood, so didn't comment while we were there. Our daughter had a roast beef sandwich which was quite good, according to her. She and her husband frequent this diner, so depending on what you order and who the chef of the day is, it must be that 'it wasn't our day!' read more

Great diner! We stopped on our way home from a hot afternoon st Barton orchards. The hummus wrap was delicious with house made hummus, kids meals were of a generous quantity with huge cookies at the end. My husband had a great pulled pork quesadilla. I recently moved to the area and was looking for my new breakfast spot for when friends are in town. I have to say I was incredibly impressed with the Beekman Square Diner. It was clean and newly renovated and the owner spent some time talking to me and welcoming me to my new home. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. I ordered a Greek Omelet and my friend ordered banana nut pancakes. We both enjoyed our meals and will be back to enjoy another breakfast another day. read more

This place has rude staff, charges extra for small little things, like an extra syrup. The shorter lady at the front counter has a nasty attitude. The manger lady is rude as well. They don't treat staff well. Some nice waitresses but definitely not all. Very over priced for a basic diner. Daily planet has much better tasting food and a nicer atmosphere. Take the drive down 55 to Daily Planet. Well worth it. read more

Food is consistently good. There's a huge selection and everything is great from appetizers to wraps to Italian specialties. My one complaint is all the little charges that add up. I believe a soda was almost $3 the last time we went so while the meals may look inexpensive the final tab is always higher than we expect (additional upcharge for fries instead of chips etc). read more

We were pleasantly surprised to come upon this diner after shopping the Storyville Antiques Market. The service was personable and the food was wonderful. We ate breakfast and the hash browns we're some of the best I've had. They were not from the freezer - seasoned and browned just like the way they should be served. The English muffin came out hot with the perfect amount butter and my over medium eggs were just that-over medium and hot. The coffee was perfect too. The bill was beyond reasonable for the quality and portions. I complimented the manager on the way out. We'll be back. read more

Went here for dinner again last night and we got the same waitress again - Tami - excellent service, as always! I had the stuffed sole with lobster cream sauce and it was served with sautéed spinach and a ton of mashed potatoes (which I took home). EXCELLENT. My husband had the Jack Daniels wings and he said they were delicious. My grandson had the silver dollar pancakes with chocolate chips AND sprinkles. He barely ate them, after eating the nice warm bread, cornbread and some of the wings. This place never lets us down. We will be back again! read more

Love this place, always have, always will. Been going here for 20 years....ever since it was the Five Star Diner. Best gyros, yummy breakfast and delicious french fries. I know why I come here; it's convenient. Otherwise there isn't much to say. It's clean and the food is standard Diner, but the prices are higher than other similar places in the area and this establishment is not very accommodating to special requests. By special requests I mean when I requested substituting toast for home fries the waitress informed me that she could only do potato for potato. The extra cost of two slices of bread is taxing I know, but make an exception to keep the customer happy. read more

Good food! A tad pricey for a "diner" type place, but most of the food is worth it. As of the last year I have a noticed a bump in the quality of food and preparation, I assume they got a new chef and it's paying off. Breakfast food, soups, wraps, and burgers are almost good. They also have 6 different types of french fries you can get which is nice when you need your grease and cheese fix. Nicely furnished and service is decent. Have had great waiter/tress and have had horrible ones. But it's like that most places you go. Overall a 7.8/10. I go about once every two months. read more

I always come here it's close to my house etc. but the quality of the food is like flipping a coin. Even if everytime you go there you order the same thing it'll be different each time. I like the atmosphere and the waitresses for the most part. I hope someone else opens up another place in the area to compete with this places business, so that they will make there prices normal and stop all the up charges for substituting little things like bread and onion. Although the food is okay( not the best not the worst), their prices are ridiculous! If you have to go here because there aren't many other places in the area, I would recommend get water and one main course and don't change anything to your order. It was our first time there as I've passed this on my way to my cleaning job. The restaurant is very clean, portions are excellent and prices very fair. This place is close to my house, so I've been here several times in search of a near(-ish) bite. It's much bigger than it seems from the outside and I've never had to wait for a table no matter when I go. The service has always been great as well. The food is good, a little more updated and varied than typical diner fare but still pretty basic. I loooove the sweet potato fries. I think the prices are a little high for what you get (9.50 for a sandwich? really?) and I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way, but it's a nice place to eat. read more

Had a horrible experience today 12/31/15 at 10:50, went for breakfast with my son and food was not cooked the way I requested, cheese looked like it was flopped on to bacon and egg and the roll was not toasted. After witnessing the waitress cleaning her nose with her bare hands. I asked to take back my sandwich and have them cook it the way I requested, she came back much later and my appetite was lost. Approached the scrunchy dirty looking gentleman behind the register and tld him that I wanted to speak with the owner to let him know how unsanitary it is for someone to mess with there nose and handle food and he had no concern and was very nonchalant abt the situation, His response was today is New Years eve, there is only one cook. I don't recommend this Diner to anyone, guess the Daily Planet wld be getting my service from now on. Horrible Service and Food. Unprofessional. Really sad cause I loved this place before. read more
