These Australian sauces, jams and relishes can now be found in America. So when my local store had about 8 different varieties I had to try them all out. I'll profile Matt's Chili Jam. I put this on a Turkey Burger and it surprisingly paired very well. Turkey is usually boring and flavorless but this jam gave it some serious flavor pop.. I've enjoyed all of their products so far, but it seems like the States only get a small portion of what's actually available at the farm in Australia.. Great location for strawberry picking - we were here a couple of years ago in summer and really enjoyed wandering the farm. Our 1 year old loved picking (and of course eating!) the strawberries too. Prices were very fair. Would definitely come back next time we're in the area. read more

My parents raves about this during their last visit and was happy when my sister brought me here. It was not the season of strawberries so we didnt do any fruit picking. Lovely store! The staff were very friendly. They have free taste which helped me decide which items to get. Ive tasted the plum jam at my sister's and I like it. This is a popular tourist destination in Adelaide. You will find that the weekends are always busy here. More so in the summer when it is strawberry picking season. But it is definitely worth battling the masses to get your hands on (in my opinion) some of the best produce coming out of South Australia. This is a really innovative family run business. They have grown from a dairy farm to producing condiments on a large scale. The exciting thing for them is that their products are so well loved, they are now exporting internationally. The strawberry field here in the summer are the best to visit. There are always a lot of strawberries to pick and they are so yummy. This is a great excursion if you have kids, they just love it. As for Beerenberg produce I have a couple of faves. I might just list them. But, if you see them you should definitely try them. Just note that I now buy most of my condiments from here. Even my tomato sauce and bbq sauce. Everything is pretty good and of course I am very proud to support a SA company. Great quality food. Let down by atrocious service. Yet the staff are not to blame. Whoever is in charge of their hospitality needs to be put to pasture. Run like an Adelaide cafe from 1995. Amateurish at best. Line up to get a table. Line up again to order food. And line up again in a different spot to order drinks. So long as you have inordinate amounts of time to kill,the place is great. read more

This farm sits on the entrance (or exit, depending on which direction you come from) to Hahndorf. It's a massive establishment that you can't miss. It's the one with the full car park!!! Yes the farm really is that popular. There's the option of picking your own strawberries in the field or purchasing some of the superb Beerenberg products inside. Just be aware when purchasing the Beerenberg items that you could potentially walk away with your wallet being a lot lighter than intended. The products here are not cheap, but well worth your money. They don't just stock Beerenberg products either. I picked up a bottle of Barossa lemonade which I'd never seen sold anywhere else in South Australia. Now I can honestly say I know what REAL lemonade tastes like. We're going back next weekend. I suggest you do too! read more

As a newcomer to Adelaide I was informed that visiting Beerenberg Farm is a "must do." As this is strawberry season (December), I took the opportunity to pick my own and I am so glad I did. The berries were just stunning! There were so many just ripened berries it was hard to resist the urge to pick 10kg!! After about 20 minutes I made my way to the store to have my punnet weighed and took full advantage of the chocolate tasting station near the register ;) to cleanse my palate. While browsing the store, which carries quite an array of jams, sauces, and the like I also sampled some of the sweets featured by other small local businesses. I appreciate the family run business and locavore community aspect. Yes, you can buy many of the items found here in your neighbourhood grocery, however, you will have missed out on the experience of what it takes for food to go from farm to table. This is especially true for children. Be sure to pick whatever is in season when you visit Beerenberg Farms, but go. Enjoy family or friend time in nature, then drive to Hanhdorf and grab some Adelaide Hills wine, maybe some cheese and meats, and enjoy the fruits of a day well spent. read more

I remember when I was little going out to strawberry farms and picking strawberries. So driving past this place I naturally had to stop. I actually prefer picking my own, given a choice, because atleast that way I know I'm getting the nicest, plumpest strawberries, and not just a bunch of half ripe ones. The strawberries here are good. They actually taste like strawberry, and not bland like I find supermarket ones to be. This is also the place to buy Beerenberg condiments, which we all know are wonderful. read more

Firstly, these guys should stick to strawberry's, not chocolate topping - it tastes just like Cottees, no kidding. Secondly, I have heard from my underground sources that the people who pack the strawberry's here are a little left of centre, or a lot. This is great incentive to go strawberry picking yourself!! I can't say that I have bothered to do this but I have noticed that the little groups of Asians always have big smiles when they leave with their hoards of strawberry's, so it must be pretty rewarding. My favourites are the savoury condiments, like the hollandaise and bearnaise sauces, the mustards... tre magnifique. read more

Beerenberg is famous for its consistently high quality and varied produce. They make sauces, jams, conserves and so much more in so many different kinds. It's an idyllic, cute farm just outside Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. If you a sauce lands in front of you when you're dining and it has 'BEERENBERG' on the table, grab it and use it, because chances are that bottle will be empty by the end of the meal. Last time I went to Beerenberg I picked up a sample six pack of their different products and it was gone in a week and a half's time. We got their amazing tomato sauce, a balsamic beetroot relish, taka tala sauce, a creamy garlic sauce, blueberry jam and here's the kicker, Cooper's Ale barbecue sauce. Every one, delicious. Strolling through their store and the farm itself you can see the love and care that goes into what they make, fresh and processed. It's a charming company with equally charming produce. read more
