I was told on 7 separate occasions that my car "should be ready by X day." I felt frustrated as I was told that the repair would take no more than 5 weeks. It took them 2 months and 2 days to complete repairs. I could have had my vehicle back in 4 weeks had I gone with a Porsche Certified shop. This shop is high density, not high volume. Overpromising, underdelivering, lies. 1. I was told that parts were 3-4 days out. It took 13 days for the parts to arrive. They said that a door latch cable was out of stock. On 12/29/23, I ordered the $17 door latch cable. Part arrived 1/16/24 and they refused to install it. They kept me waiting until on 2/8/24. I called their vendor (Porsche Larson) and the vendor had the part in stock the entire time. They lied to me. 4 WA State Porsche dealers had that $17 door latch cable in stock. NO supply chain issues, only lies from my SA Challan Kershaw. 2. With parts and approved payment on a $14.1k insurance repair, I expected a no-delay situation from 1/16/24 (part delivery date) - 1/22/24 (paint start date), and a no-delay situation from 2/7/24 (build completion date) to 2/12/24 (alignment date) 3. Until 2/1/24, they did not attempt to pick up the pace of repairs. On 1/31/24, Challan Kershaw told me that they devote 17.3 hours of build time to each car per week and that because my car required 44.8 hours of body labor -- reassembly would take at least three more weeks. After my phone call with Production Manager Kyle Emmerich, it took them 3 days (2/5/24 to 2/7/24) to complete 44.8 hours of body labor -- NOT 3 weeks. They only started to "care" once I started calling them daily about the deadlines and commitments they offered months prior. I had to cancel three road trips. At the end of the repair, they waited an additional (and unnecessary) three weeks to install the insurance-approved PPF/ "clear bra" which put my trip to Canada in jeopardy, and delayed pickup once more. 4. My car battery was damaged from storage and lack of normal vehicle use. The battery was tested by a Porsche dealer and was noted as being in excellent health 35 days before drop off at Bel-Red Auto. The battery should have been placed on an OEM trickle charger during the 65 days that it was at Bel-Red. They could have billed insurance for the use of a trickle charger instead of destroying a battery. If insurance had declined the use of a trickle charger (unlikely) Porsche would have sent an authorized service provider to jump the car (under warranty) or tow the vehicle to an authorized service provider. 5. I had to have a new battery programmed and installed by Porsche Bellevue (consequential damage/$920.00). 6. One of my carbon fiber side blades was improperly installed - the front-driver-side-door blade is falling off. They destroyed my door control module. The module clip had been ripped off/a new door control module had to be installed by Porsche Bellevue. Unacceptable for a shop to make a series of negligent mistakes over 2 months. 7. They have become complacent. They are no longer the "best" body shop in Bellevue. You're as good as your last job & your credibility is as genuine as your last lie. If your service is awful and you can not fulfill a promise, no one cares if you have been in business for 41 years. 8. People do not have the patience to deal with being told that their car should be ready by X day on 7 separate occasions, or for a repair to take twice as long 9. I felt deceived and disrespected - my age should have had nothing to do with my car's repair process or status. Being told by Challan Kershaw on four separate occasions, "Well I know you're young but..." is condescending, demeaning, and ageist. They are passive-aggressive and hostile once you point out their bullshit. Recommend Metro Auto Rebuild, Haury's Collision, or an out-of-state shop. read more

I stopped by to see about a 7 x 7 inch square paint-stain scuff on my front bumper, which happened while backing out of my garage. I thought it was going to involve so much money to rectify and take care of. But I met with the Salesperson named "Tom" who took a quick look at it, then went back inside & brought back out a clean rag with paint thinner on it and rubbed it right off!!! Bad experience all around with this body shop so do not recommend them. Initial conversations were good, the person there seemed knowledgeable. But it has been over 5 months and Im still waiting for my car, for what was a minor front bumper damage. They fix the car in pieces and constantly sending multiple "supplementals" each time taking 2-3 weeks for preparation and then approval by insurance. Lastly, even when work is complete, I waited for over 3 weeks for them to release; they need actual payment of screenshot from insurance company, even while they have received 80% of the payment already, and a letter confirming the last payment has been issued. And this is one the top 2-3 insurance companies in the country. read more

Approximately three months ago, I dropped my Polestar 2 to get repaired. Not only has it been time-consuming, but one of the mechanics (Emilio Yancey-Ruiz) sent me photos of the progress, in which photo 11 has my car next to a confederate flag logo. If I had known they employed racists, I would never have taken my car there. I complained to my insurance company (All State representative Jordan Brown), who had the Bel-Red Auto shop call me. The manager, Linda, claimed this had happened before when a guy possessed a nazi logo in their shop. Linda apologized and said they would get that out of the shop. In my opinion, the manager did not take it seriously since it has happened before. I wish I could pull my car out of that shop. I will never come to this place again. read more

I dropped off my car at this shop 70 days ago, and so far still hasn't got a response on when they will complete the job. It is a minor scratch and dent, and that will take them more than 2 months to finish the job! My insurance only offers rental car for 30 days. I am without a car for more than a month, and it impacts my commute to work, ruined my vacation, and impacted my holiday. The rep there never called me to update the status. I had to call them every week to get an update! Totally unacceptable and try everything to avoid! After 80 days in the shop, I finally was informed that it was done. After I drove out of the lot, light error came up immediately as they replaced my head light. Looks like they even didn't verify that everything worked before they declared done. Now they towed my car to Seattle Audi for light error fix and I am again losing usage of my car, and haven't heard back when it will be done! Such incompetent body shop!! read more

My vehicle was extensively damaged and I had worked with Bel-Red Auto rebuild in the past so bring it back here was a no brainer as I was happy with their service previously. But due to the extent of the damage this time, I needed to communicate more often with Kyle and the shop. Kyle was very professional and easy to talk to about my concerns I had with the vehicle repair. His response time was within 1 business day and went out of his way to provide additional estimates had I decided to go with a different route in the repair. Although the repair did go past the estimated completion date- it was understandable because you cannot rush a quality job. I did have to bring the vehicle back for minor adjustments which was a bit inconvenient but Kyle and team made up for it by making me feel prioritized and that they would ensure that I wouldn't have that problem again. If you care about your vehicle, then the level of service, care and attention to detail that Kyle and this shop provides is outstanding. Although I hope I never have to come back to Bel-Red Auto rebuild (cause that would mean my vehicle is damaged)- if I ever find myself needing a body shop again- the service alone has made me a life long customer. I brought my truck in for some minor body work. They were scheduled out for quite some time, but because my job was relatively small they fit me in that day. 24 hours later my 16 year old truck looked brand new. They even detailed the interior just because it needed it, to my incredibly pleasant surprise. The cherry on the top was that it cost significantly less than I expected! Very disappointed. First of all, I was referred by my friend and I read all the reviews here on google and help and I decided to give it a try. I first sent an email to bel red and Emilio got back to my with the estimate. I then spoke to him about fixing my mirror and the dent on my front door. Emilio said the dent would take a week so it would have to be scheduled months out (until March 2022) but he can help me put on my side mirror first so that I can drive safely. I had a friend visiting me in March 2022 initially so I thought it would be inconvenient for her to come in if I do not have my car fixed yet, so I told her to come in Jan 2022 instead after I confirmed with my car fix date with Emilio. I then sent my insurance estimate to bel red but no reply after. On Dec 27th 2021, I called bel red and spoke to Candice about it but Candice said she never received it. I said it's the same email I sent to Emilio but Candice said she had a different email so she didn't know. OK fine, Candice said she's gonna forward that email to her inbox and start reading the estimate from my insurance and get back to me asap. I waited for a week and no reply. On Jan 4th 2022 I called bel red to follow up and Candice picked up my call again. She said she never received my estimate. I was like "excuse me? You literally just said you forwarded that email from Emilio's to you one week ago, and you said you would get back to me asap, what do you mean by you never received it? Anyway, I repeated everything again and she said she remembered ( shouldn't she put on some notes in the system ?) The she said she's gonna call me back within one day. I waited for another two days, again no reply. I had to call back and she said : oh, you know what, we can get you in in two weeks and you need to leave you car here for 7-10 days. I told her I could not because I just moved my friend's visiting schedule from March to January due to Emilio's initial statement (he said the first availability is March and I had to leave my car in his body shop for 10 days that's why I asked my friend to visit me in Jan instead of March). Then I mentioned to Candice I needed to stick to original plan and get my mirror put on first, and then wait until March to get my dent fixed as I discussed with Emilio. Candice said then I had to pay twice for the mirror installation. I asked her why. She said because when I drop in for March they had to put down there mirror again and put it back up, so it's a second charge. I told her this is not what Emilio told me, the way she's doing is totally unprofessional. Emilio told me one thing and you are telling me another, who should I follow? Candice said she's going to speak to Emilio and get back to me asap. I asked her to give me an eta because based on my previous conversation with Candice, she's always unresponsive and never called me back even she promised she would call me back, and she would always forget what I told her even it's something that has been discussed multiple times. Candice said she would get back to me the end of the day. I waited for a week, no surprise, she never got back to me. I am sorry bel red, but if you are treating customers unprofessional and disrespectfully, no matter how good you are with your body shop skills, you will lose your business eventually. read more

I am 40 years old and this is the first negative review I have ever left about any merchandise or shops so far in my life. I would feel bad if anyone has to repeat what we have experienced with Bel-Red Auto Rebuild. 1. Cheating/false estimation again and again. Estimated to take around 1 week. Eventually the repair was done in week 6. 2. Extremely terrible communication. No update from them unless we call them from week 2 as they estimated to finish in about one week. From week 2 to week 5 multiple occasions they say they will call me back but never did. I guess maybe they have many other high-end cars and high-end customers to attend, maybe we have an out of state license plate. I feel they have been ignoring our requests just at their will. No update, No explanation again and again. They can do whatever they like as you can do nothing once you hand in your car to them. Super frustrating! 3. Good paint job (exterior has been fully restored to like new condition), plus they fixed a minor scratch on the front bumper as a bonus for one star. But bad assembly (see the pics). They still cannot fix the door lock stud after I revisited them. 4. The repair cost they charged is double of that quoted by the body shop that my insurance company suggested, and 1.5 times of another reputable body shop nearby. They finally charged $6096 versus their initial quote of $3620. So my insurance and I paid much more money for a much more unpleasant and frustrating experience. read more

I took my brand new car in after my toddler drew smiley faces on the side and front with a rock (insert 4 letter words here). Rich was incredibly friendly, explanatory, fair and reassuring. He supported my decision to just buff the scratches since removing the parts and painting would be far out of my current financial ability. I was hit in my new 2018 Honda by an uninsured motorist. Fortunately I had coverage for this type of accident. The employees at the shop were up front and honest about repair time, working with insurance and any mishaps that can happen due to additional parts, etc. My car was a day later than expected but it was worth it. I went to five different places to get my H1 Hummer repaired and I cannot believe it no one would work on my truck. Every place had a different excuse, some said the paint could no longer be ordered, or they don't work on exotics, or they don't know how to take an H1 apart and some just said it was too much work. I went to Bel - Red as a last ditch (because its in Bellevue) and they were very nice to me and totally hooked me up. While it did take them two months, my HUMMER looks amazing like it was brand new and it glows driving down the street. Some guy there did a clear coat so sweet that it looks wet! The bid came in 4500 cheaper than the place in Renton and when I noticed a spot here and there I just took it back and they would fix it no issues. Great place that is very professional. They have paint rooms that are huge and off the shelf best gear. They let me watch as he painted my truck and he hit it 3 times all day. Great place. read more

Update: Two weeks after calling them to let them know about the lost lug nut key and the damage I called them again and they claim they can't do anything and never saw the key even though I put the key on the shifter and whoever first drove the car had to have moved it to drive it. A shoutout to Kyle and his crew at Bel-Red. Their attention to detail and hard work really showed in the final product, my vehicle! They were tireless in battling insurance to provide OEM parts and not the cheap aftermarket parts insurance wanted to use. They communicated as necessary throughout the process and were relatively quick to reply to any questions. Yes, they are busy (what would you expect from a quality shop), so don't expect instant replies to emails, but they will reply in more than an acceptable amount of time. Secondly, quite a few other reviewers don't really seem to understand how car repair works. Until your car is torn apart, they won't know the full extent of any damage that needs to be repaired. So, yes, there is a high possibility that the initial quote may be low and they will have to submit supplemental to your insurance company. If you can't handle the delays that may cause pay out of pocket or don't crash your car because those delays aren't the shops fault. These guys do great work and stand behind the work their people do. So chill out and let them do their thing, they are going to take care of you and you're going to be happy with the final results! read more

Updating my review. I calmed down after this horrible experience last year but just found out my insurance was charged extra almost a YEAR later by Bel-Red... Apparently, they just found a few bills laying around in Sept 28th 2017. My car was picked up in Dec 2016... Bel-Red Auto things to be aware of: 1. For some reason, they might bill your insurance company a $1000 or so dollars extra almost a YEAR after you pick up your car... Yes, apparently Bel-Red recently filled ANOTHER supplemental (for a total of 3) with my insurance (almost 1 year later!). 2. The initial repair estimate might be low, but don't worry their estimations are likely to grow several times to over DOUBLE the amount. You won't find out UNTIL you pick up your "finished" car and experience sticker shock. 3. Talk is cheap and completion times are a never-ending joke. Get everything in writing. Though for some reason, email is not their preferred method of communication.... 4. Don't pick your car up when it is dark. Their outside lighting sucked -- good for them as it allows them to hide the obviously poor work. 5. They might say things like if we didn't pay for the Tesla Certification we wouldn't be doing the work due to the hassle and amount of work involved with Tesla repairs. 6. Your car may have additional damage to it and they may claim that it came in that way and they even have pictures. When you ask them to show you the proof and they won't have it. Crickets... Luckily Tesla stepped in and took care of it once they realized how sore I was after this entire experience... Saved me a trip back to Bel-Hell. 7. They will fix your car after you almost get a lawyer involved and provide a rental at their expense. It will take multiple days to make everything right and multiple trips. 8.
