NEVER STAY AT Bel Air Motor Hotel ~ Never stay at this hotel. Our booking was paid in advance through Booking.com, and when we arrived, we were told they require a CASH-ONLY deposit. We are traveling for business and do not carry large amounts of cash, nor should we be expected to when a credit card is already on file and payment was made in advance. The hotel claims this requirement is "disclosed" on Booking.com. If so, it is buried deep in the fine print, not clearly presented at booking. Most travelers would never reasonably see this, especially business travelers who rely on cards for expense tracking and accountability. The situation was made far worse by the staff's behavior. They were extremely rude, repeatedly interrupting us, talking loudly over us, and refusing to have a calm or reasonable discussion. There was no attempt to resolve the issue or offer any accommodation. Despite refusing to allow us to stay, they kept our Booking.com payment and will not release it. We were turned away for the night and lost our money entirely. This hotel operates with unreasonable policies, poor disclosure, and hostile customer service. If you are traveling for business, do not carry cash, or expect basic professionalism, avoid this place at all costs. read more

Tried to check-in to this motel. Reservation was paid in full got to the hotel and they ask for $100 deposit. That was fine... they then demand cash only for the deposit. Bone of the posted documentation shows any cash requirement. Have no cash machine and were completely un-flexible. Not to mention that the lobby smell horrific, the furniture is water damaged and a total wreck. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would in a heartbeat! STAY AWAY from this place! The manager and staff are extremely rude and the room we were placed in had visible damage to the door, wall to the door and flooring. Their was writing on the mirror from a previous occupant & wood screws barley holding the headboards on the walls. Not to mention they're torn / holes in the blankets and the lighting fixtures were broken. Lastly the permanent stains and broken AC unit were appalling. FRAUD - having you pay in cash for a security deposit. Trying to check a friend in that is disabled for the night. Reservation already paid by his parents. We show up and none of their documentation states that they require the deposit to be paid in by cash. Complete fraud. Avoid this place at all costs. Motel 6 is nicer and the same cost. read more

Do not book here!! although it says they are pet friendly on all online websites they are not pet friendly. The owner harassed me and snapped his fingers while pointing his finger in my face after seeing I had my dog with me. ALTHOUGH HE WAS AWARE OF MY PETS STAY SINCE CHECK IN. not to mention multiple police cars showing up all night long due to crimes occurring. read more

Clients beware! I'm honestly shocked at some of the recent "good" reviews on Google from this motel which now seem sketchy and false to me. I should have payed close attention to the majority of the reviews but I thought let's give this place a chance since the recent reviews are decent. I booked this place for my family to beat the extreme heat wave since our place has no A.C. Upon checking into our room, I was met with instant regret and I could see it all over my daughters faces. My youngest instantly asks "why does the room smell like that"? I knew what she was referring, the smell of smoke and mold, although I saw no mold, but I could definitley smell it. The room #103, was in desperate need of repairs and a makeover. The furniture was worn and torn with stains on it. The ground tile had a huge chunk missing. The bathroom door had a bad patch job with what seemed like a fist has previously gone through it. The walls were so dirty that it seemed like no one had cleaned them up in ages. Dont get me started on the AC unit! First of all the unit was not properly installed into the wall, it had a visible gap between the wall and unit with some cushion blue stuff in it to fill the gap. The AC did not have its original labeling, it was only written in marker for on, cool and high. We turned it on, put it on cool and that thing did not cool what so ever! It only shot out humid room temp air. The AC itself was beyond dirty! The vents were full of dust like no tomorrow, that once turning it on, it instantly activated my daughters allergies. The bed sheets, omg they had stains on them! My mind was completely blown away by how this establishement has the audacity to rent our their rooms in these terrible conditions. The pictures online definitley do not reflect what the actual real room is. This is false advertisment and it completely tricked me. We instantly checked out after being here for only 30 minutes since this was not suitable for us, especially my kids. I took photos too have proof that this place is ridiculously bad. $224 was my total cost for 2 nights, and since I booked on Booking.com, there are now refunds. Which seems unfair to me since this place could not have provided us any relief or comfort what so ever. Do yourself a favor and take my review as a sign do not waste your time or money on this place. Don't make the same mistake as I did. This establishment definitely has false advertisements which is illegal and they fact that it's open and operating should be illegal! How has the city of Tustin not inspected this place?!?!?! read more

I have to say of all the hotels in the Tustin area in this star category Bel Air Motel by far is the best. Super quite hotel and perfect right next to the park that's also really nice and clean. The rooms are different than your standard hotel. They have a home like feeling in a good way. The owners are very friendly and run a great hotel with good standards. I've stayed here a bunch of times in different rooms and never had any problems with the room....the only time I had a problem with a lock on my window the owner came and fixed it right away happily. worst hotel experience ive ever had the Indian couple that work the front desk are extremely rude, they ignore all our concerns from the unsanitary unsafe rooms they provided for us .in the the first room they gave us had a very strong unpleasant Oder coming from the microwave that looked like something exploded in it and it even had 2 cigarettes in it .i could not understand how they could possibly check us in this room ,and asked to have a different room .the Indian man that works the front desk was complexly rude and acted like we were bothering him for asking for another room he screamed at me to hurry up and get my stuff out the room to give us another room ,the other room was awful too toilet clogged every time you would use it it became really clogged up to the point that the plunger wouldn't work to fix it so by the 2nd day they sent some man that looked like he was from the streets to unclog it nd all he did was splash the nasty clogged waster all over the floor nd left saying he unclogged it but did not do a thing but a bigger mess .. asked for a fridge : they told my bf to get one from the back we cheked it out nd it was the most nasty thing ever there was wet foor from probably a week or two in it with green mold nd trash all over the ground ill post pictures just so you can see how our back yard looked like .theirs way more i would like to share but my review is already long enough.. :( i got one Q: isn't it against there rules for the manger not to give me the number for there boss? is there somewhere i can call to report what they are doing? read more

Worst place I've ever stayed. Extremely dirty, holes in walls stuffed with paper, paint dripped on wall, cigarette burns on tube and a pile outside there was a pile. Very dirty floors. Cheapest by $5 in the area. Rooms is serviceable. Management is a older Asian lady that will go off on you for no reason. I saw her screaming at a Custer checking out on my first night. When I returned to extend the room for another night she accused me of stealing towels and refused to give us a room. We didn't get towels in the room when we checked in, I didn't complain because the towels from a previous room stank, I bought my own towel. Worst experience. This place need new management/owners. They are bad business people as well. If you are asked to do any type of contractual work with them, get a credit card or deposit immediately. They will burn you on a COD. The management here is as shady as they come. Your best bet is to not take the job. Knowing how they treat the vendors, I would not want to stay there. The owner of this run down motel is nothing but a thief. Was smoking outside on the patio at 1130am with a friend. Lady comes screaming saying "you're too loud!!!! Be quiet!!! I have tenants!!" (Tenants in a motel?). We calmly told her we were enjoying a cigarette outside and when we were done we would go inside. She then starts SCREAMING, "get OUT!!! Take everything!!!! You have too many tattoos!!! Tattoos scary!!! Leave! I call police!!!!!" She then proceeded to stand by the door as we were packing our belongings, and during this time we saw literally a 3 inch huge cockroach ON THE BED. We pointed it out to her and she began to start screaming again! Anyways we left, and when I returned the next day for a refund (we had pre paid for a week, only stayed 2 nights) she pointed to a sign saying "no refunds" and started yelling again. After reading all these other reviews from numerous websites it's clear that she has been stealing from many people. I have no idea how this place is even open with the state of the rooms. So far so good; been here a few days. If you need a hotel that's conveniently located in Tustin, CA, it doesn't get any better than this. Within a few minutes walk you can be at the library, any bank of your choice, or Lawin Square, a major bus Terminus in Orange County. As for those other reviewers saying the host is a rude Asian lady... Perhaps they should get it right; there is more than one flavor of Asian. I highly doubt they took the time to utter the words please or thank you in the Korean language. Typical Americans. I am an American myself, but I've had the pleasure of serving overseas in the USAF for 20+ years, including Asia. The people who spoke so lowly of this lady have no respect for foreign culture. I guarantee you you will not find a room in Tustin for this price. And if you do you won't have a roof over your head. I'm glad I found this place. If I could give a zero than I would. First of all, after being here for 3 days the front desk told me that they do not accept service dogs...they wanted a certificate that proves that the dog is a service dog. According to the Dept of Justice there is no such thing as a certificate. They didn't care. I sent a complaint to the ADA and DOJ. The beds are like sleeping on plywood. The covers were dirty and semen was on the headboard and nightstand. The TV is very old school and most of the channels are unwatchable. The towels were black. There is no fridge or microwave.
