    Chicken Verde torta

Went there today for the first time on my husband's recommendation and had a chicken sandwich. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had.

    Original fried chicken sandwich.

Belfare is as good as the hype. Very excellent fried chicken sandwiches. Juicy and tender chicken with a crispy seasoned breading, served with Cole slaw and pickles on a soft pillowy roll. They also have house made hot sauces on the table. The menu is short and sweet, only a handful of offerings. I had the fingerling potatos on the side. Was less enthusiastic about these, but they were unique.and prepared well.

Nicely fried. Chicken was juicy. The pickles and slaw make this a well balanced sandwich. I recommend adding the hot sauce. Food was served quickly.

Ordered online and food was ready when I arrived. I should have written in the notes I wanted to eat in so they could have plated my salad. They were so accommodating and ended up plating it for us anyway. Sat down to wait for them to plate our food, they brought us water and chilled glasses. The food was amazing. Our group had the strawberry salad with fried chicken and farmer's salad with grilled chicken. We were not disappointed. Chicken was not dry, salads were dressed with the right amount of dressing and it had a touch of heat. Can't wait until I'm in town again to try the chicken sandwich.

Grilled chicken salad with strawberry lemonade is the perfect combo for a nice lite lunch that will keep you full all day long. Thanks Belfare for another amazing lunch.

My friend & I tried one of their chicken sandwiches while strolling through the Tuesday Farmers Market in the Lucchesi Center parking lot. It was ok, nothing spectacular to write home about but it did the job of being our lunch! Fast foward to Belfare now having opened a store front (they still do the Tuesday Farmers Market from what I'm told) that is open Monday through Friday 10am to 2pm and that's it. Was down in the area of their store front and it was just about lunch time so I swung in there and ordered the Fire House Special Fried Chicken Sandwich and Furikaka with sesame mayo fingerlings (their version of french fries) and I took it back to work to share with my friend. It was DEEEEELIOUS!! The Furikaka fingerlings were to die for (so addicting!!) and the way fill overfilled the box that we shared along with splitting the sandwich it was plenty of food for the two of us!! Wish they were open on Saturdays then I could go there more often, which may or may not be a good thing for my waistline and wallet. LOL If you are near their store front between 10 & 2 Monday through Friday or at the Tuesday Farmers Market at the Lucchesi Center I would highly suggest trying the fingerlings and the Fire House Special Fried Chicken sandwich!!

I live out of town, but I try and go here any chance I get, and every time is perfection! Their ability to have such consistency is rare in the food industry. It really can't be overstated how wonderful every single thing they serve is. The meals are perfectly cooked, seasoned and served up with attentiveness and most importantly kindness. Besides the food which is always the most important to me (a foodie), it's always clean (and cute) inside. Seriously, try this place ASAP.

    Classic chicken sandwich

SOOOOO good in every way! Delicious, moist yet crispy chicken. We loved the sandwich, with the tangy simple slaw and the delicious pickles. Bread was super soft too. The salad was also stellar -- using local ingredients like baby artichokes and Meyer lemon for the vinaigrette. We were also super impressed with the service. Friendly and efficient. Water was brought out ice cold! The cold brew coffee is pretty awesome. Would return in a heartbeat!

Or you can go to Cafe Gratitude and pay approximately $14.00 for a shredded carrot. OR you can empower yourself and learn the art of cooking great tasting food "hands on" with Team Raw. Whether you want to start a "healthy cleanse" but don't know where to begin; don't have the time (because of your hectic work schedule) to prepare "heathy food;" want to become part of a healthy community; or just want toexperience something new - Shivie & Cemaaji will put you on the road to success & empower you with simple recipes you can create on your own ... I highly suggest signing up for one of their ongoing worshops - great people, great compassion, great knowledge. Team Raw is a great addition to the San Francisco Community. She turned her devotion to health and wholeness in the direction of food a few years ago, and I couldn't be happier ( though I miss my Kundalini classes). Her and Cemaaj's raw food is exceptional. Kale chips are light and spicy. Wraps taste like everything in them (not just one mushed up flavor). gRAWnola is wonderful with yogurt in the morning or just as a snack. Crackers, pizza...each is a mouthful of wonderful combinations of flavors. Even though I am quite versed in raw cuisine, I think I will take one of their classes in the new year. I'll never forget standing around eating one after another between swigs of Modelo with friends... California tacos have always been generally great, but this place is special. Since Oaxaca, I've only had as good al pastor in Mexico City last year in a similar setting. So I'm super excited and grateful that Vallejo now has its own amazing popup serving these incredible tacos, and more. My husband is a burrito guy with a big appetite, yet the servings are so hearty he can only eat half in one sitting. And my al pastor tacos sent me back to that Oaxaca bus stop with adventures ahead. Sitting on a busy corner parking lot, this place is super popular so expect to wait, plus parking can be tricky. All said, the service is efficient and people are patient to wait for what they know is a good thing. While waiting you can bag up your own garnishes like pico, salsa, pickled peppers, sautéed or raw onions, and more. I saw some people enjoy their food in their cars, but both times we brought ours home since we live close and the packaging keeps everything together well.
