This was helpful and staff seemed engaged and interested in helping. The setting for the wedding was lake side, very picturesque for a fall afternoon. They had adequate seating and benches set up. It was a very nice ceremony which the setting contributed to. Reception and meal was at the main lodge. There is a large outside deck which was nice for mingling during the pre meal drinks and waiter server appetizers. Dinner was buffet style inside the lodge. There was adequate staff and things went smoothly for a crowd of about 150. Food was ok, I'd give it an average rating. Entertainment was an outdoor canvas covered band with a decent dance floor. This was well done. All in all, this is a good wedding venue, if this is what you are looking for. They handled this crowd of 150 with no noticeable snafus. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars....Solid spot.

It's pretty small but not having equipment to use was never a problem for me. They relatively recently opened the fitness facility up to the public as its main use is one on one personal training classes. For only $25 a month you get unlimited access during particular time slots during the day. At first I thought this rigid schedule was a downside, but in actuality, the compartmentalized options gave me two to three times in a day to feel guilty for not going! So I think it helped keep me more on a schedule than anything else! The changing facilities are standard, with lockers (bring your own lock if you feel strongly about it but I never did), bathrooms and showers (bring your own supplies) Overall, this place is great. I think it's still a hidden gem because more often than not I was working out alone!...Though that may just be midcoast Maine too. :P They have a super nice skating rank and equally nice tennis courts you can rent out for $30/hr too.

The family-run business also has an apothecary and herbal salves and some soaps and other products like honey and jelly which according to the nice daughter tending the store her mother makes everything by hand. Additionally, all throughout the golf course are the many different plants used to make all the products in the shop. They are also edible. The golf course has a lot to be desired; is kind of run down and had better days. But, everyone plays the same course and it's easy enough to get through the 18 holes. My kid and I got a unimpressive 59 and my wife had a 60. We all got a hole-in-one on at least one hole, though! The facility also has a large 30+ chicken and duck coop which you can feed, and a couple of very friendly dogs. Golf was only $15 for the three of us! The honey and jam I purchased were also reasonably priced along with the rest of the shop. The daughter running the shop is off to college this fall, so best of luck to her. Recommended for some fun times in Maine!
