They specialize in crêpes, sandwiches, Panini's and salads. I heard the crepes are marvelous but I ordered a croissant. The croissant was grilled as a Panini with a side of lettuce and sweet red pepper. The lettuce and red pepper had no dressing of any kind so I was not inclined to eat it. My friends ordered Panini's which came with potato chips. The capuccino was very good and was offered with several flavored variations. I thought the decor was crisp, modern and pleasant. We chose to sit outside because the music volume inside was rather loud. They have tables with either chairs or benches. The chairs had arms and the seats were narrow so we chose the benches which were more roomy but quite hard. Our server did a good job coming by several times to ensure we had what we needed. This is a family friendly place with a creative park and water fountains next-door. The space is not sufficient for large groups but well designed for smaller groups, meeting with friends or even business meetings. There are numerous other restaurants nearby at the shopping center across the road, so definitely a nice and secure place to walk around and get out of the house or hotel.

Los Compadres

Location: 4 Cleanliness: 4…read moreService: 4 Décor: 5 Prices: 5 Food: 5 Menu variety: 4 Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Los Compadres offers delicious typical Mexican cuisine in a casual, family atmosphere. It's a great place for both large and small groups, families, or even a business lunch. I have been there for both breakfast and most recently for a late dinner and enjoyed it both times. The décor is old school Mexican colonial. They have both a downstairs and an upstairs dining room. Both times I went I wound up upstairs which was not air conditioned, but still pleasant. Bathrooms were clean. The food is traditional Mexican. If you order coffee it will be "café de olla" which has cinnamon, pre-sweetened with piloncillo (raw sugar), and is prepared in a clay pot. So there is a distinct hint of clay pot in the flavor. Of course, they have soft drinks, and a couple of "aguas frescas" which are always refreshing. For dinner we had the parrillada which had grilled beef, onions, cheese, and a cheese stuffed bell pepper. It came with beans, tortillas (flour or corn) and chips and salsa. I tried all the salsas. One was habanero and will wake you up both when you eat it ...and remind you how spicy it was the next day! They have all kinds of "antojitos mexicanos," I recommend the gorditas with your choice of filling. Be prepared to put your conversation on hold for a few minutes and hear the "mañanitas" in full mariachi sound if anyone is celebrating a birthday. I enjoyed both my visits to Los Compadres and think you will too!

On our business trip, our customer suggested we go to Pour la France for lunch. This restaurant…read morewas a very pleasant surprise. The place is very nice and very upscale. I enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the crowd enjoying their lunch. Service was fabulous. This place gets major points for an English menu!!!! Yes!!!!! We started with the Tuna Saku Toast. Very flavorful and fresh Tuna, excellent!!!! I enjoyed their new garlic cream soup. Great flavor with a slice of bacon added for flavor. Very happy with this soup. I typically order the French Onion, my guest ordered and he loved it. Check out both my pics! For my main course, I went with Octopus. Cooked perfectly with great flavor and texture. I posted pic. I was not a fan of the beet cous cous, I don't like beets - at least I think they were beets, just not my thing. Overall, I would love to go back and try their breakfast or come back at dinner, they have a very nice outdoor seating area that has live music on specific nights of the week.

Basic corporate fare, salad dressing and sauces over-sweet for my taste...ordered a chicken Caesar…read moreand a turkey and lots-of-other stuff sandwich...plenty of food, but both a little cloying. Annoying (to me) screens blasting too-bright images of French art and restaurant offerings. That said, pleasant enough; nice wait person; clean. Sort of like a moderately more upscale Au Bon Pain/Panera in the States.
