LAstly they are good men, they have even fixed stuff for free! Popped in to drop off car, they said to wait, let them check, a few bolts on the wheel were loose, so they went over every wheel, 30 mins fiddling that they said was 'no charge' i paid the man a tenner. It's a bit insulting when they returned my car with new and dangerous defect both times I give if for them for a simple service! Each time It's been running fine when I dropped it off, but the 1st time I used them, as we drove through France the vibrations around the brakes was so strong we had to stay around 50mph until we could get back and have the brakes changed. A year later, I though, fair enough, it might have been a one off and I'm always quite Brixton-centric, but this time they broke the Diesel pipe for the diesel filter so that car was leaking fuel very obviously when they gave it back. They are shut on Fridays (not mentioned) and we had a boat to catch, so another garage (Manolo - grumpy but great) opened-up and found that off the hoses they had accidentally pulled-out (a few meaning that the car have almost no power above 30mph), the fuel filter connection have been roughly bent and broken. When they re-opened I told them and he promised to pay for the damage, and them never did. Don't bother. Go for the atmosphere, the dappled light through the grease covered skylights, bit don't go with your car.

Overall a good quality job was done and as an added bonus my front two alloy wheels had been cleaned. Highly recommend Taj Quick Fit.

And several years ago I discovered Honda Riders of Peckham. Honda Riders are one of the few family-run year-dot shops left in the game. They've got bits for bikes that even the manufacturers have probably forgotten! It's run by Natalie and her head-honcho Paul, and between them they have amassed a detailed knowledge of most common bikes & their particular idiosyncrasies. Especially beneficial to the economy end of the market; there's no limit to the age of a bike they'll attempt to repair. And therein lies a problem, because old bikes often have seized bolts, cracked & corroded parts etc, all of which may not only raise the bill unexpectedly, but also lead to delays and a backlog in their work schedule. But new or old, they always try to please, whereas most other shops will simply turn a machine away after a certain age. They are only two, and work ebbs & flows. Sometimes the phone never stops ringing, and customers are in and out all the time. It can get very, very hectic, and then patience is needed. At other times, when it's quiet, they may look at your bike - and fix it - while you wait. It's a hands-on firm; both Natalie & Paul wield spanners and the telephone often gets lost amongst the jobs! They also stock parts and accessories, including crash-helmets & clothes and a wide range of serviceable secondhand components which they will offer to fit at a big discount to new. This can both save time if the part would otherwise need to be ordered, as well as keeping the bill to a minimum. They're also a licenced MOT station. There's only a handful of other firms like theirs in south London, and I know from experience that Honda Riders are the cheapest and most friendly. Frankly; I can't imagine dispatching life without them. I just hope I can retire before they do.

They've frequently sorted me out at very short notice, very accomodating - staying open late just so I can pick my bike up after work. They do lose a star for their cash only policy - it's 2014 guys! Fixed a nasty rattle coming from near the exhaust of my 22 yo Volvo V40, all sorted in less than an hour. It was the heat shield that had come a bit loose above the exhaust. I also wanted to alert other customers to the possibility that Lynette and Geoff may be moving due to the site being sold to developers. I plan to keep using your garage wherever you move to. This feels like a rip-off, and I won't be returning.
