A version I was not requested to write by someone else, but felt compelled and comfortable enough to finally write from within and on my own for the public to see and for others who can relate with similar public 1 star reviews publicly shown and both visible and viewable to see. As a PROUD, Non-Binary and Homosexual member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am writing to alert the both public and my community of my personal experience with the Bell Law Group. My representation throughout what would have been a two year contract; before I fired the firm For Cause, was met with a sudden and unprofessional lack of continuity that felt particularly egregious given my status as a protected individual during a period of medical, transitional, and overall life changing instability for nearly two years. I've since officially escalated this matter to the Attorney Grievance Committee, as well as the Mayor's and Governor's offices, to ensure accountability for what I characterize as an abandonment of professional duty, collectively. I have since secured superior counsel and am addressing all matters related overall, but I URGE others; especially those in protected classes (LGBTQIA+) to be wary of the potential for instability and disregard at this firm. Watch out. I lost $30K on a sure discrimination lawsuit that Bell said was a good case. They said they hadn't lost but a few cases in 20 yrs. We'll I'm the 3rd case loss. If you work for any DoD USACE office and are facing discrimination or probably any issue, look elsewhere than Bell. read more

An attorney at this firm is trying to destroy my family. He is using an ADA law interpretation to force us into court.He offered to settle for a mere $5000. This is not a lot if your a rich unscrupulous lawyer, but If you are a small business owner and family man this can and will render you and your family homeless. I previously worked for the DoD and was making no progress with multiple denials for my disability retirement. I originally spoke with Jonathan and he was involved throughout the process. I had a rough start with Jonathan Bell's Law Group in the beginning, but in the end, it worked out brilliantly, and I am ever so grateful I hired him! I took off one star in this review because in the beginning of my client-attorney relationship with the firm, I was passed from Alex to Lola and then to Ms. Krell due to attorneys leaving the firm. Each time it felt like I was starting over, and it didn't build my confidence in the firm. However, once I was assigned to Ms. Krell, my experience was completely different, and the positives I've observed over the years by far outweigh the negatives in those few weeks. Let me tell you about them. Lesson #1, over the course of the three years of going through the Disability Retirement process with my former federal employer, the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion New York City, located at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn, NY., I came to understand that I could not trust that my battalion -- this bastion of Army values -- would do the right thing for this disabled employee. I am the second employee from this battalion to obtain Mr. Bell's services, and I am the second employee to win! Lesson learned, do not blindly put your trust and faith in our government like I did. Do, however, trust Mr. Bell and his team. The money I invested in the firm and my future was well worth the peace of mind I have today, and I am finally rid of the abusive relationship I suffered with my employer. Mr. Bell is also an exceptional listener, and I felt completely safe entrusting him with personal medical information. I wasn't afraid he was going to use it against me. He is not at all the kind of lawyer portrayed in Hollywood. He is a lawyer for the people, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any disenfranchised federal employee to contact his firm because you will be treated with respect, and you will get results -- two things I couldn't get from my own employer! Lesson #2 the federal government is not concerned with your timeline or how much you suffer without your disability accommodations. After a year of waiting for my accommodations to finally be approved, failing on the job without my assistive technologies, and watching my mental and physical health and relationships deteriorate, I finally gave up on my employer's 'loyalty to me,' and I hired Mr. Bell. My work with Ms. Krell, the disability retirement senior attorney, has been nothing but stellar. Her competence in completing the myriad forms, her keen knowledge of the legal procedures she advised me of, and her tremendously quick response times to my questions were absolutely impressive to me. I felt like my needs were going to be taken care of as her client. What I liked most about her was her tenacity; when she wants to fight for a client, she definitely goes after it! For example, she held the federal government accountable for me by sending them a letter on my behalf at month sixteen, reminding them that they had exceeded their 6-12 month self-imposed approval timeline with respect to approving my DR packet. In less than 30 days from when I notified her that these excessive wait times were draining my personal savings and about to cause me financial hardship, literally, I had a letter in the mail from the government indicating they approved my DR packet. To me, that's service! Seriously, less than 30 days. It was like the dark clouds opened up wide and the sunlight I used to know was beaming down upon me once again. If you want an attorney who pursues results fast, Ms. Krell is your go-to for that job! Overall, Jonathan Bell's Law Group is an incredible asset for the people, and you should seriously consider allowing his firm to represent you. And why not? The consultation with him is free. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. And please do not be afraid to speak to him, for he is not a Hollywood lawyer. He's a common man, just like all of us, and I trust that he will not advise you wrong. I also want to give thanks to his legal staff. My phone calls were always addressed in an expedient manner, and there were never any hiccups in Ms. Krell receiving my legal paperwork, which I sometimes sent to her office via the USPS. After being turned down by several federal disability lawyers who refused to take my son's case because although he was clearly incapable of work due to his severe mental illness, the lawyers thought the case was a loser because my son refused to take medications (due to his severe mental illness), I was ready to give up. But then I spoke to Jonathan Bell who was incredibly compassionate. He thought my son had a reasonable case and although he could not guaranty a win, he did guaranty his firm would work incredibly hard to secure the best outcome possible. It took some time to get all the necessary medical reports, documents etc together but my son received notice that he was approved for disability just 3 1/2 months after his application was submitted. The application package was put together by Ms. Krell and she did a suburb job. I am an attorney in a different field and can tell what excellent "lawyering" is. When I first met Mr. Bell for an initial (and free!) consultation, I sat down in his office debating on whether or not to retain his services. He told me "There is a reason that lawyers have a bad reputation", meaning that many attorneys will take a case with full knowledge that it is not winnable, simply because they are looking to fleece the client for money. On April 1, 2015, I received a letter of disapproval for my disability retirement, and I had to respond in 30 days for reconsideration. My first question was how could they disapprove me since I had all the required documents. I began searching on the internet and found the website for the Bell Law group and so I contacted them and asked them to help me file for a reconsideration. At first I was hesitant since their location was too far. I'm in the west coast and they are on the opposite end. However after seeing Mr. Bell fight for our rights on youtube during the recent government shutdown, I knew he could help me. I immediately sought his services. It was a good conversation, despite English being a second language to me. My English is kind of hard to understand sometimes but he patiently listened to me. On June 19, 2015, I got a check from OPM, and they approved my application. I highly recommend Mr. Bell and his group to represent anybody on their case with Federal disability retirement. read more

Absolutely do not hire them. You will be passed around from one attorney to the other as the attorneys keep leaving the group and then they pad their hours and also bill hours for work that was never done. Also they will keep enlarging the time for your case with the opposition without your knowledge or approval to increase their billing hours. Their office staff have been trained how to extort money from clients and if you question they will mock at you. The hourly billing is just a drama. They already have in mind that unless they get $ 20-25,000 from you they will not proceed the case and after that they do not care if you win or loose as they have already made their money. Do not be fooled by the initial free consultation by Mr. Bell himself. He will do the most sweet talk that you have ever heard to entice you for the case by making you feel that they have done your type of case all the time and they specialize in that.
