This is long overdue, like several years, but just have to review this hospital. I was visiting my sister locally when I started to notice some chest pains. I was kinda worried as I had already experienced four heart attacks. Let my baby sister know and in the car we go to the ER. Only one patient registering in front of me but my sister goes right up and tells them I was having the chest pains. Doors opened and two RN's come out, one on each arm and into the ER I go. Both started the usual triage, cardiac workup and IV's (know this stuff as I am/was an ER nurse). Then the Respiratory Therapist comes in to do the EKG, labs are taken, X-ray Tech. comes in for for the chest x-ray and a very personable doctor shows up quite fast to start her exam. Getting crowded in there but I am in one of the major treatment rooms so plenty of space. There was a lot going on but all organized. Sis is with me the whole time. They admitted me for observation but first the hospital pharmacist comes to the ER to verify my medications. All this for me but I know this is what they do for each patient that comes in for treatment but at the moment I felt as if I was their number one patient. Spent the night in a nice quiet room looking at the beautiful woods out the window. All tests came back negative so didn't have to make the trip down the hill. Food was OK as much as you can get on a cardiac diet anyway. Only downside was an uncomfortable bed. Could feel the metal. read more
