I went to this place twice when I was in Munich and had a great time each visit. The food and beer were good, but the people were great. The bartenders were engaging and hilarious. Especially when they encourage you to drink more and have a good time. The service was very prompt and friendly. All I had to do to get a beer was make eye contact with the bartender and he'll give me a wink. 30 seconds later he was placing two tall, cold glasses of Franziskaner at our table. Now that's what I call service. The currywursts and rolls were delicious and hot. In addition, the atmosphere was very unique at this bar. People from all walks of life came through this place. At one point there were more Americans in the bar than Germans. Maybe because they had a live feed to the NFL playoff game. They might have been attracted to the interior that was peppered with sports and movie memorabilia. It was an odd juxtaposition that worked very well with the vibe of the place. All that was missing on the wall was an alligator with sunglasses (Simpsons reference). I highly recommend this establishment if you happen to be around the Munich Hauptbahnof. Plenty of fans for Bayern, several for Dortmund, and many just there to watch the game for fun, everyone managed a respectful and enthusiastic evening together enjoying the scene. My server (whose name I wish I caught) was honestly hustling about as much as anyone on the pitch - food trays were cleared almost immediately, tabs were marked promptly, and no one ran out of beer even though there was scant room to maneuver. I'm thrilled I found this neighborhood spot for some drinks and a burger, because the game action and the friendly local fans made it a truly memorable stop in Munich. Outstanding.

Thinking it was some sort of pharmacy or doctor's office, it is more of a bar than a restaurant. It has seating outside and inside. As you go in, you will see the gentlemen working behind the counters, wearing white lab coats like doctors. The staff are super friendly and comical. They offer you nuts to eat, water, and recommendations from their menu. The bar's decor inside is very nice. They have a huge painting on the wall of the bar. We all ordered only beers, as we wanted to wine down a little bit and take a breather from so much walking. And we also used their restrooms which are clean. After, they were so kind as to help us when we asked for directions to our next stop. I definitely recommend this nice bar the next time you are in the area. It is kind of hidden but you can't miss it with their name. I really want to go back and try one of their liquors.

The chicken tenders seemed like they were the frozen kind but were all white meat and cooked perfectly. The calamari also seemed to be previously frozen and was fried at the wrong temperature. This made them greasy and inedible. Our server was very busy with a large table so the service was slow and forgetful but friendly.

They politely told me in broken english that was not possible so I knew we would be in for an authentic german meal at suppertime. Our party of 9 had a fabulous time. The beer was great, the food was great, the service was great. The band played what I think was german punk during Octoberfest. None of the staff spoke fluent english but that was not a problem. There were a couple of dogs (golden or lab retrievers) roaming around that were just part of the restaurant.. I don't think they get alot of americans so the owner (I think) came over to visit a while. We probably spend 4 hours dining and beer drinking. I absolutely plan on visiting again next time I go to Octoberfest.
