What an adorable atmosphere in a wonderfully designed craftsman like cottage home. Kim cut and styled my daughters very long hair with such perfection. The results were beautiful and Kim took so much pride in her work of art. My daughter was so happy afterwards and the boutique was also fun to shop in and so reasonable in prices. Went home with nice hair, pretty earrings and matching ring all for 70.00. Can't beat that! read more

I have had two deep tissue massages from Shelby and she was wonderful! She was attentive, checking in to see how I was doing with the pressure she was giving. Additionally, she was kind and professional. Pricing was better than a few other places nearby that I called. I have a very stressful job and am recovering from some injuries. Shelby's massages have helped me maintain full mobility of my body so that I can continue exercising and they've enabled me to alleviate the lower back & neck tension from stress at work. Over-Rated & Over-Priced $50 for a haircut that wasn't what I asked for. I was explicit, which included the length. The hairdresser was listening, but she did what she wanted. After trying repeatedly to have her cut it the length I wanted, I gave up. And it's not like I was asking for a crew cut. Far from it. She ended up cutting my hair the length SHE wanted it to be. As if my last visit wasn't frustrating enough, hours later I discovered that I needed to do a little trimming of my own, as there were a couple of strands that were hanging longer than the rest on one side. My prior visit, which was with a different operator, was a disaster. She also missed hair on one side, and quite a bit. When she refused to allow me to return so she could correct it, I decided to give Bellamia another chance but asked for a different person. Unfortunately, as I already stated, that didn't work out. My experiences with Bellamia have been frustrating. The independent operators' prices are high. The value is not there. I've had better experiences and haircuts for less than half the price elsewhere. I spent $50 for my last haircut, one that wasn't what I asked for. What a waste of money. By the way, when I inquired about the price over the phone when I made the appointment with this particular person, I was quoted $45. But she charged me $50, saying, "I don't know who told you that. Next time I need a haircut, it will be much sooner than I was planning. And next time I will be going somewhere else. read more

I LOVE EVERYONE AT BELLAMIA!! Shaye is my go to stylist she has been able to work miracles with my hair. She is absolutely a doll and knows exactly what I want even when I poorly explain it to her. She has nailed the color, cut and style every time I've been in. I have referred friends and family members to her. She has done an amazing job every time. Shaye was able to fix my hair that was butchered by another stylist at another salon. I highly recommend her and the owner of the salon is super sweet. Pretty very unhappy with my haircut. I went in to the appointment with my hair partitioned to show what I didn't want cut. I wanted my top layer evened out but the hairdresser (S.B.) layered all the way to the bottom. It's very thinned and it does not look good at the bottom. I feel I need to go get it cut again sooner than I wanted. I did not want most of my hair touched. Hairdressers, please listen to your customers, and if you think something should be done that doesn't agree with what they said, please ask them. read more

I had my hair done by Taylor last week for the first time, and she was AMAZING! It had been a year since the last time I had anything done to my hair (thanks to covid), so it was kind of like having to start all over again. Whenever I have gone to someone new in the past, I have always had to prepare myself that I probably wouldn't come out with the blond that I want on the first time. It always seemed like my hair would be a brassy orange on the first appt- I thought it was just the way my hair was. UNTIL I went to Taylor!! She was completely confident that I wouldn't leave with orange hair and she was right. She did an amazing job on the cut and color, and I will definitely be sticking with her! My mom also goes to Bellamia to get her hair cut by Linda, and she loves her too. The salon is super cute, and relaxing. It's definitely worth the visit! read more

I've been a client of Bella Mia for a very, very long time...two owners ago, and it's always been my peaceful haven. I had an appt last night and was severely disappointed in the salon! The salon is in a historic home on Main St, in Craftsman bungalow style. The previous owners had painstakingly renovated the home and it was invitingly elegant and welcoming. I always felt pampered walking in. Last night was seriously depressing! The new owners are turning the my beautiful refuge from the world into a cheap looking beachside shop! Gone are the soothing pale colors and in their place is a gaudy turquoise and cheap looking accessories. The bathroom now has BRIGHT pink flamingos and instead of a soft glow lamp, there's a gaudy golden PINEAPPLE!! Yes, the stylists are still there, but, it's no longer peaceful going there and I have to wonder how long the stylists will remain. I gave it a 3 out of 5 ONLY because my stylist is still there...for now. read more

I had a fantastic experience for my wedding day hair with the owner and stylist from Bella Mia! Linda (the salon owner) was very helpful and responsive in planning and coordinating our hair styles for the day. If you have high expectations for the level of service you receive then this is the right place for you. I tend to steer clear of these types of places because let's face it, sadly I'm not rich and normally just require a normal basic haircut. However under new management it seems as though even Supercuts cannot manage that simplicity anymore. They compleatley BOTCHED my hairdo leaving me with a choppy uneven mess before an important interview. I was referred to this new salon by my Mom who absolutely adores the place and is a monthly regular with Cora. I'm always hearing about how fantastic they are so decided to give them a try and was not disappointed! Yes, the amount of my tip was equivalent to the total amount I paid for full service at the other place. Again its true what they say "you get what you pay for"! From the moment you walk into the warm ambient atmosphere you can feel the strength of the ladies tribe here. Everyone gets along great as a team and is truly passionate about the work they have been blessed doing. It feels like you are welcomed into a fall season catalog of Better Homes & Gardens browsing miscellaneous items for sale while sipping on refreshing lemon water. Feeling out of place already? You deserve to TREAT YOURSELF so prepare to get treated like a royal princess. As I waited to be served I caught up with my moms stylist Cora who is basically like a secondhand family member who knows all the ins and outs of our life. It just so happens my mom had an appointment the exact same day so they were texting eachother about my upcomming appointment and how we would be seated right behind one another. Such a touching and cute level of personalized service we love it! My stylist name was Kristen who did an amazing job at listening to and being receptive to my needs, while also applying her vast base of knowledge to my requests. She met me halfway and explained what the best corse of action would be given the recent chopping of my locks. I could feel the tension lifting as my neck & scalp were massaged during the hairwashing process. The most fun part for me was Kristens willingness to oblidge to my request to take before and after pictures. The best part was she was totally into the idea with me and never made me feel like I was asking TOO much! She really had fun with it going above and beyond taking shots from all different angels on her phone (that produced a much nicer quality photo than my own) How gracious! What really did it for me was the after photos taken with a professional studio ring light to really show how the shade looks in natural sunlight. By the time I got all settled in at home I had already received a text from Kristen with a photo collage that she compiled for me to promote on social media. How cool is that?! Altogether the entire staff here is very interactive with their clientele. I had such a great experience that on my way out I decided to hide my mothers painted rock in their lovely garden area out front because it just seemed fitting. The employee Taylor found it about a week later and followed the instructions on the back to post a picture to our local FB group once found! This was alot of fun for both my mom and I since we took the painting class together and it was her first hidden rock experience. This also made a great talking point for her next appointment and Cora was talking about how everyone admired such beautiful art in their work environment! I will definitely be returning once my highlights fade to experiment with some more new looks in the future and wouldn't trust anyone else to do so with! Shady Salon and veryyyyy rude owner named Linda. Taylor messed up my hair and thankfully my friend was able to fix it perfectly for me. I previously had two appointments so far first one I paid $160. Second appointment paid $120. Few days after my second appointment I noticed some harsh lines that needed blended in the front. Taylor was suppose to fix them and I walked out with brown hair all of the blonde was gone. I was super upset about it because it looked like the same color I had previously started with when starting the balayage process. I literally could've cried I was so upset. Well long story short I called asking for a refund which was denied and Salon owner had the rudest attitude towards me and laughed at me pretty much I mean I honestly don't know what she thought was funny. If Taylor was a professional like she stated to me she would've either offered a partial refund or full refund to an unhappy customer in my opinion. Also was no way I'd step foot back in a salon that was super rude to me over the phone or someone who had ruined my hair. I'll post some pictures which can clearly show the mess up. And to why I was asking for a refund. Salon owner will personally reach out to you if you leave them a bad review... absolutely unprofessional!! Trying to intimidate me into taking the post down. When you walk in to this salon, you notice two things right away: it is super friendly and it is very clean . It has a very comfortable vibe and no matter how many times you go, you are greeted by very capable Kaitlin or Hannah and welcomed in to the salon. My stylist Yvette is as always on time , professional and talented . If you want to treat yourself, just sit in her chair once and you will be back forever . I have had services on my brows from both Linda and Kaitlin and they are both amazing and never miss a thing. The spa part of the salon is very relaxing and pre prepared for your visit. Every time I go I notice how busy the salon is but each time my appointments are on time and I have great results . It was so uncomfortable. The stunning historic craftsman style house has been made into 80's Miami meets Dollar Tree. From classy to trashy. Such a great experience! I cannot tell you how long I have needed a day like today. As I walked in the door I was welcomed by smiles and warmth. My boyfriend made me the appointment for my birthday and all I had to to was walk in and tell them my name and they instantly started treating me like a queen. Exactly how you want to feel on a spa day, am I right?! Depends on the package you get, but I was greeted with champagne and brought to the massage room with Heather, (her hands are amazing!! BTW) I have had plenty of massages, she is the best misuse I have ever had BY FAR. I have to say the same for Katelynn, although I have only had 2 facials, but Katelynn was the best facial I have had. Gentle, cautious, caring, and she knew what she was taking about. My daughter went there on her wedding day with bridesmaids for hair and makeup booked one month in advance with Linda the owner I paid for my daughters the bride and got piece of paper reciept certificate? This was a confirmed 5 hour wedding party appointment. When girls arrived there stylist were first off surprised to learn this was a wedding party! Oops Linda did not wright that down in the books. So they did not have the special room or champagne ready for them! They did move them after awhile to that location and went to get them some champagne! The girls were very happy with there hair and makeup stylist Taylor and Katlyn they thought they were innoccent in all the mistakes and great at there work as well as very friendly. They would recommend them both. Then it's time to leave and the bridesmaids pay and Linda the owner wants my daughter the forgotten bride to pay and my daughter reminds her that her mother did a month prior upon booking there appointments, and apparently Linda doesn't believe her! She has the ordasty in front of the other waiting clients in her shop and my daughters bridesmaids to say we need you to take care of your bill! My daughter said can I call my mom? she said yes but I need to know exactly from her how much she paid to whom she paid and what day? my daughter called me and is panicked I ask to speak to "Linda" she questions me on whom did I pay I said the owner of Bella mia who is no other than "Linda"! she said how much and what day? I said it was a month ago I have no idea and I have a house full of guest and my daughters photographer are you really not believing we paid? she said i need you to look at your confirmation by text that you paid. I said you never sent me one! she said I would need to pay. Meanwhile my husband is looking up our credit card account and I am getting ready to Pay again so the bride can come home. So I go to get a credit card and my husband finds the information I call "Linda" back with the date and amount and she agrees it is correct and allows my daughter and bridesmaids to go. So on the happiest day of my daughters life Linda managed to stress us all out to a level of "10" nice job! This shop was paid for by me one month in advance and charged at least $50-$75 more for just being the bride!! All the bride asked for in hair was blow dry and soft curling iron! in makeup Light natural nothing fancy, pretty ridiculous! I would give this salon two stars one for Taylor one for Katlyn and they were good but I'm knocking it down three stars for overcharging just because she was a bride. Not being prepared for the bridal partys 5 hour appointment. Not having written down that the bride was indeed paid for in advance! Embarrassing her in front of friends and waiting clients! And holding her basically hostage on her wedding day for approximately 25 minutes for me to provide her proof of payment. Kristen is the most talented colorist. She knows what colors will look good on you and works in hip new cuts and styles each time I visit her. The blond she uses is killer. I always get compliments from people looking to get the golden, copper, white tones she gives me. Not only is she amazing at hair, but she is a friendly, funny and interesting confidant. I have had my hair cut by Cevin for years before dying it, I also had my hair styled from prom 2 years in a row and finally did a bayalage hair color and cut today with Taylor. She did an outstanding job and I'm so happy with the result!! I used to have sandy blonde hair and dyed it almost black years ago. I've been coming to Bella Mia for 8 years now, ever since we moved to Ramona. I tried 2 other salons in town at first but wasn't happy with either one and finally a friend told me this is where she's been going for years and specifically recommended that I try Linda, who is also the owner. So glad I did, she is absolutely the best hair stylist I've ever been to, and I'm in my fifties! I come in for a cut and color about every 5 weeks and every time I'm always happy with what she's done--she makes sure of that before I leave. The price is very reasonable, alot less than what I was paying for the same services when I lived down the hill. Linda is always professional yet personable, as are the other girls that work there too. I've referred several friends and none of them has ever had a complaint or a bad experience. The salon itself is charming as well, an old house with lots of character inside and out, and it's always clean and tidy. Make sure you have a few minutes before or after your appointment to look around the little boutique up front, so many cute and unique things that are trendy but not too expensive. I especially love the jewelry, and they recently added some homemade candle jars that smell really REALLY good. All in all it is such a joy to be there that I always look forward to my next appointment. Going to a new place to get your hair done can be daunting but everyone at Bella Mia will do their best to make you feel comfortable and right at home. Sounds to me like some of the other reviewers are just trying to get a free ride by complaining after one or 2 visits which is sad because this is a fabulous place run by someone who is totally dedicated to her clientele. Bella Mia has done it yet again! Unfortunately, I made that move to Washington that I mentioned in my last updated review. However since I am in town visiting, I decided to make a trip to see my favorites, Linda(the FANTASTIC owner), Kimberly, and Taylor(they are both my favorite stylists I have come across). Today, I decided to treat my mom to a touch-up on her hair. Linda has been doing her hair wonderfully and perfectly for years. She is so detail-oriented and very responsive to the needs and wishes of her clients. All three of them always put their best foot forward and provide the BEST services possible. All three are phenomenal artists and keep up on the new style trends, ensuring they are fashion forward and ready to assist anyone who needs a fresh hairstyle or color! Although I am no longer 20 minutes from this salon, I stay true to the fact that a 2 and a half hour plane ride is well worth the outcome of visiting. I waited a few days before posting a review as a way to ensure that i was fair in my review and not writing out of rage. I came here on Friday 1/26 for a full body 1 hr massage followed by a haircut. The massage that I got from Heather was amazing!! She was nice and listened to where my aches and pains were so she could focus a little more on those spots. I'd give her 5 stars!!! The reason I'm giving this place such a low star rating is because the service I received for my haircut was the worst I've ever had! To start off my hairdresser (Kimberly) started off our meeting by saying "I love getting massages if you ever need one and Heather is booked I have a friend who does such a great job..... I usually check to see if Heather is available first and if not I'll go to my friend.....". Wasn't sure how to take that at first but to me it sounded like she was trying to get business for her friend..... Probably not something you want to say to someone who just had an amazing massage... Shampooing was going ok, the chairs were not the most comfortable but Kimberly did mention they're supposed to be getting new ones. While she's washing my hair I suddenly felt my butt get warm... She'd gotten my back wet and the water trickeled down to my butt. It was enough to leave a small puddle on the chair when I stood up and my clothes (butt and back) remained wet for the remainder of my visit.... I brushed it off and even joked about it... I probably wouldn't even have mentioned this in my review of it weren't for the events that followed... So we go through the generic what kind of hair cut do you want etc. And things are looking hopeful bc she's asking me good questions about the style that I want. I should mention here that my hair length to start off was down to my mid back with my shortest front layer about 2 inches below my collarbone. I'm going for a long- a line Bob with the front of my hair touching my collarbone and when styled, the back of my hair long enough to just cover my neck.... This is where everything really goes south. She starts cutting away and I immediately noticed the front part of my hair is nowhere near my collarbone. It's waaaaayyy shorter! She continues to trim away and then blow-dried my hair. Doesn't use a round rush for volume... (She claimed she misunderstood me and thought I only straighten my hair... When in actuality I said I blow-dry with brush and minimally straighten ends) after she begins to make an attempt to dry/ round brush my already dry and straightened hair only on the front left side, I clearly see one side is longer than the other. I tell her this and she agrees and starts trimming away making my hair shorter and shorter.... Then the side she just trimmed is now shorter than the other.... So she starts trimming again.... And then finally lightbulb came on.... She remembered she starightened one side giving it the illlusion of one side being longer... And Bam... I'm left with just a very short Bob and no A-line!!! So now she's "done" and I ask for a hand held mirror so that I can see the back of it and I point out to her that one side is layered and the other side isn't and there is no "A- line" style to it. So now to get a little bit of an a line she asked if she should trim the back and at this point I say yes because I have not a-line and what I had looked more like a long bowl cut. Even though she gave me a "discount" for the haircut because she could clearly tell I was not satisfied what I paid was not worth the cut that I got. I keep telling myself it'll grow out to make me feel better but every time I go to style it I just get upset because my hair is naturally curly which makes styling the short hair even harder! I can't say I don't recommend this place because that would be unfair to the other hairstylists that work there, but I can say I don't recommend the hairdresser that I got. read more
