My partner in crime had a few reward vouchers to redeem that were good for quite a few chains around Brum. But I nominated Ask. We visited a large and easily accessible location on Hagley Road. It had a nice (and free) car park. As we walked toward the entrance I noticed a few picnic benches out front that would be lovely to sit out on a warm summers eve. Too bad summer is already over. The dining area was a good size. We had no trouble getting seated. A server quickly greeted us and took our drink order. I always appreciate prompt service like that. The menu had a good variety of pizzas, pasta, and seafood. We decided to go for the antipasto board to share, a lobster prawn pasta dish for myself, and a fancy chicken pizza for my companion. The cocktail menu was on the smaller size, but that didn't stop me from trying it! I had the delicious Italian Twinkle which was a refreshing mix of Prosecco, elderflower, vodka and lemon. And since I'm a glutton for these fruity drinks I had another round. This time Moscato D'Asti with raspberries. Both were wonderful, sweet, and fruity. The antipasto starter was alright. It was a mixture of a few things. Not my ideal choice, but nice to try. The rosemary and sea salt bread that came with it was lovely. My main was excellent. There were large chunks of seafood in it. The pasta tasted very fresh. The croutons were a bit odd because they seemed a bit soggy. Overall a really great choice. I would definitely choose it again! I actually liked it so much I wanted seconds!! Since there's no unlimited pasta at Ask, I had to get a dessert to fill me ;) I chose the grande gelato. It wasn't that pretty to look at, but what it lacked in looks it made up for in taste. It was a couple scoops of creamy vanilla gelato mixed with fresh berries, cream, and pieces of meringue. It reminded me of an of Eaton Mess, a better version though. I had a great experience at Ask. Nothing but great food and friendly service. It wouldn't take much to persuade me to return again.

We had a really long table that easily accomodated all 20 of us, and even though it meant I could only speak to those who were right next to me, it was still absolutely fine as we then went out drinking afterwards. When I first heard of eight foot grocery, I wasn't aware of such a good deli in Birmingham. However with Otto in addition in the arsenal, jewellery quarter is a must place for food lovers. The boastings of Otto was the high quality ingredients and it didn't disappoint, see the individual reviews for 4 different pizzas below: Special 1 - pumpkin, pine nuts, crispy bacon, mozzarella drizzled with honey - Not too heavy and not too light. The pizza gives a Hawaiian feel, however there are no juices, but you definitely do taste the sweet glaze. Special 2 - fresh coppa, mozzarella, topped with rocket - ham, with rocket. Even though it was a special, I think it's missing a flavour, perhaps add some olives or maybe some pesto to give it an extra bang. Main 2 - Nduja, Mozzarella and tomato - spicy chilli salami paste scattered all over the pizza. It gives the pizza a nice kick, just how I like it. Main 4 - Mushroom, seared pepper, artichoke, tomato and ricotta - a unique pizza without the mozzarella, therefore it's particularly saucy but the vegetables and ricotta make up for that. I also recommend the tomato and pesto flatbread, just can't go wrong with pesto on some bread. Warm and crispy with the flavour of the pesto complimenting the bread. Service was very good, with regular staff making sure the food was ok and no problems encountered - just how it should be! I can see this place becoming not only an evening hangout but a great lunch area too! With takeouts available, there's just no way you can miss an opportunity to try Otto. Great pizza, great price. I was seated pretty quickly but then, despite being pretty quiet, it took over ten minutes to get served. I think they'd forgotten me, to be honest, and I hate having to wave to attract attention. Still, once served the olives and their new "Messina" craft beer arrived soon after, were nice, and the Pizza came swiftly. This was less good - a bit doughy and chewy to be frank. A pity. I tried to ring the store and press the bell on numerous occasions for help getting into the store and they offered nothing - they mentioned they ignored it when another guest went in, which proves the store does not care about disabled people to the point where they ignore a speciality disabled service bell, I'd accept the fact they ignored phone calls too down to them being busy but they weren't. To make the service levels worse, the staff member refused to move when I asked for a few minutes to look through the menu with my friend which made me want to get the hell out of there - the store wasn't too busy so she felt it was appropriate to just stand there and stare, despite asking her for a few more minutes before ordering on three occasions. I was also upset to find out regarding the unavailability of many menu items and drinks - I mean come on, are the suppliers and the staff having a competition for being so damn shitty? I've visited six different branches of Ask Italian (around 5% of their branches) until now my average has been 3.1 with experiences resulting in a three-star rating from Sheffield to Manchester, to a four-star rating in London, up until now I've never experienced a really bad branch which warranted less than a three-star rating which is what makes this all the more shocking, to have an experience so bad I had to leave. The portobello mushroom and spinach pizza is my current favourite. I did have an issue with my coffee last time I visited, well the way it was served. It came in a glass with no handle, which meant burning my fingers when I wanted to drink it. Service is normally very good, but more than once we've had to wait a fairly long time after our meal for the bill. The staff are friendly and helpful though. It's very busy at weekends but quite at lunch time. There isn't any parking though. Overall, a good spot for lunch if you're in Sutton.

Some are vegetarian and even vegan. I got the cider flight (Devon Red, Raspberry, Hedgerow, Rapscallion, and Panking Pole). I liked all with the exception of Panking Pole (too dry and a little chalky). I got the vegan and gluten-free pie. It was the nutter. It was really tasty. I finished it all. The staff was friendly.
