This is definitely a local neighborhood diner. We were greeted with friendly faces like we've always come in before but you can also see people come in and greet each other as the usuals. Place is very clean and the kitchen is shiny and well-maintained. Their pancakes are good and their breakfast plates are your standard combination of meat/egg/sides but they are exactly what you want in the morning. It's no frillls but sometimes you want that. It's so hard to just find a morning spot to stop in without breaking the bank or don't need a fancy breakfast. This is your spot. read more

Was in a bind at work and did not want to pay for over priced delivery at 7:30am. Was able to order for myself and a coworker and they picked up within 15mins. He wanted a lunch entree and they were open to making during breakfast hours. I can't speak much on the ambiance because I didn't go inside. But the service on the phone and food was great! We were fairly close. Decided that it was cute from the photos. Stopped on a Saturday morning. Fairly busy. Fast services. Classic diner. Nothing fancy and everything was to the point. My eggs were cooked perfectly. Loved the crispy bacon. Servings were great for the cost. The grits that came with my husbands was an entire bowl most places. Not pictured were the biscuits or bagel. Biscuits were nice and flaky. The bagel was decent. Not a New York one of course. But not sad like most Texas ones would be. The waitress was polite. Made sure to offer plenty of options. read more

There are plenty of reasons to love Bellaire Coffee Shop, which is one of my preferred destinations for diner-style breakfast. The vibe here is old school and simple, the prices are relatively affordable, and the service is always on point. The food has been consistent and gets a thumbs up from me each time. The place is narrow and easily gets lost in the strip mall setup, but the place is bustling with regulars almost every morning. The current owner is Greek and is here by way of NYC, which also gets major bonus points. They have an open kitchen where the food prep is all out in the open for all to see. I'm a sucker for their crispy hashbrowns, which are crispy and oily, likely caked in butter. They go well with their corned beef hash and any of the omelettes, all of which are definitely tasty. I'm not terribly fond of the waffles or pancakes, but I do think their grits and country fried steak are underrated. Sandwiches / burgers make up a big part of their lunch menu, but I've still not ventured from my love of breakfast to try any (#1). They close at 2pm daily and at 1pm on Sundays. I would recommend coming here at least by noon to avoid the rush or super early when they first open at 6AM. Part of my primary reTIREDment plan has been to visit our adult children and help out when possible. SO, we have temporarily re-located from our home in the "¡Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juárez y Las Cruces!" to HoustonTX-USA where we can give our most favorite #1 grandchildren undivided attention, as well as being closer to our daughter in Austin. One if my personal favorite activities is cycling, and my most favorite morning-only drink is CAFFEINATED COFFEE! Since residing here, I've become quite familiar with numerous shops offering the stimulating liquid (which seems to be just about everywhere catering to customers!). I was intrigued by "Bellaire Coffee" and had to stop. Turns out, it is a traditional cafe, open (M-Sa, 06:00-14:00; Su, 07:00-13:00), but for me are its Greek roots, very symbolic of the many different immigrants who made Texas in the past/present/future. This was a friendly albeit busy eatery, mostly filled with locals both meeting/greeting in an immaculate institution of excellent food! It took me a short while looking over the menu before I finally chose a Florentine omelette with grits/wheat toast and a never-empty cup of coffee. I wanted someplace different this morning and decided to stop for breakfast Lots of old timers as well as other regulars eat here weekly and some daily. Service is stellar and freshly-made food comes out pretty quick. After my training followed by a long walk, I was in a healthy mood and ordered an egg white omelet and instead of hash browns or grits plus toast, I opted to substitute sliced tomatoes. We drove by this place many times and always commented "we need to try this place".....today we did it, great food and friendly people. My wife saw chicken livers with mushrooms and onions on the breakfast menu, she got hash browns, wheat toast and two eggs over medium to go with it....not my breakfast of choice but she liked it. I enjoyed a he man breakfast, 2 eggs over medium, two pancakes and ham. Loved everything except they don't serve it with butter, just margarine. Nice fluffy pancakes, egg just right and good ham. I noticed they have a few Greek menu options, I may be trying some of these on our next "looming on the near horizon" visit. read more

We would give this place zero stars, but they do not offer that as an option. Another place to stay away from! The owner actually follows customers out of the restaurant if they complain about anything! With the name "coffee shop" in the title, you would think they know how to make decent coffee. The coffee is horrible. It tastes watered-down, and the bacon is rancid. Also, they need to learn how to make french toast. It would also be nice if the wait staff would check in on their customers from time to time for refills and other questions. They LITERALLY kicked customers out of the restaurant for complaining. Do not waste your time or money here. The place was very dirty also. The busboy was handling NEW silverware and napkins, along with glasses , AFTER TOUCHING DIRTY NAPKINS AND DISHES WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS! DISGUSTING!!!! The kids could not even believe that! There may be several positive reviews about this place, but overall it is definitely not worth the trip out there. Save your gas and go to IHOP or Denny's instead.
