The the staff there are so friendly and helpful. My wife went into the store because they had some displays outside and as she was looking through the clothes hanging out there and picked a few and held them. One lady came over to help her hold the clothes for her while she looked through others. They actually had three people helping her. That was great customer service. read more

This is my favorite boutique in Humboldt County! They have a great selection of basics, as well as, items for special events. I have gotten amazing comfortable clothes here for years. Jeans, leggings, dresses, and skirts. All great quality, that last a long time. The Belle Starr staff is great at helping me find clothes that fit me perfectly. This is my favorite women's clothing store in Eureka. They start a dressing room, bring you different sizes, always greet you when you walk in. I shop there on Sundays and have consistently received five star service. They carry great brands. You do pay for the quality, but their clothes are timeless and hold up great in the laundry. Every Sunday that I have been there there has been out of town groups exploring old town. They are greeted enthusiastically, and always seem to have questions about Eureka or Old Town. They walk out with a great impression of the people who live and work here. Another reason I consider Belle Star a 5 star business is that they are locally owned and the owner donates her time to local projects. I love to support the businesses that help our community. Oh, they also have a reward program, so you can accrue points each time you make a purchase. No matter the occasion, or just needing something new, I can always count on Belle Star do have the right, unique item. read more

The staff is very rude, went in here with my daughter a couple days ago while we were visiting eureka and they were on their phones sitting by the register the whole time. Very unhelpful. They were whispering and laughing while we were shopping. We felt uncomfortable so we left without purchasing anything. If I were those girls I would be more friendly based on the fact that they make commission. read more

I have been a fan of Belle Starr for years. I have been so happy that the new owner kept many of the same lines that I loved in the past and also expanded what the store carries. I really appreciate Belle Starr's dedication to regional, ethical designers and suppliers. When I buy clothes from Belle Starr, I enjoy them for years because they are of such high quality and I don't have to wonder about their origin. I love this store!! I spent a few hours here last week while I was up in Humboldt visiting my parents. Things have been very stressful at home. Relationship problems, trying to buy a house on my own problems, is my work going to stay the same problems... you name it!! So I run away to Mom and Dad's to hit the reset button. Part of doing this always involves a little spree at Bell Starr. I used to head to the store in Arcata, but now it is off to Eureka. I had the owner all to myself for a couple of hours while I explored the many treasures. This was one of those times that everything fit and I did a fine job stimulating the economy in Eureka. I don't mind that at all, as that is where I grew up and I will always consider it (Mckinleyville) my home base. I got a great selection of clothes from dresses to pants to sweaters to tops. I will enjoy these wonderful soft clothes and be back for another adventure in the future!! read more

I made an error when ordering online snd Sue went out of her way to help me correct it. She even made a follow-up call to make sure it was what I wanted. I appreciate the courteous care I received. I ordered the Joy Susan hobo bag and I just love it! It is high quality, very soft, and a beautiful color of turquoise. Included with this purchase is another purse as well that I can use separately or with the hobo bag. My purchase arrived in a timely manner. It is with great sadness that I write this review. I have been a loyal Belle Starr customer for years. I live several hours away from Eureka and normally get there once a year. I always visit Belle Starr and have spent a considerable amount of money there. I had to make a return which the previous owner accepted via US mail (as I do not live in the area). I was issued a credit which was in their computer system. I was assured that my credit was securely in their system, so there was no reason for a paper trail. I had no reason to doubt this since I had been dealing with mail orders with them for many years. Sue, the new owner decided to honor credits through the 1st of January (I'm not sure if this is even legal). By chance I called on the 13th of Jan. just to check the status of my credit and was told that my credit would no longer be honored. I was never notified. They had my phone number, but did not call me. Even if that had been the case, two weeks should not have made a difference. I'm a small business owner, and I cannot believe that the new owner would be willing to lose a loyal customer over a credit. I'm saddened to know that I will never go back to Belle Starr. I'm even sadder to know that some business owners put profit above customer service. read more

I brought my 60 something best friend and her 20 something daughter here (visiting from Berkeley). We were so excited by the range of clothing offered and the reasonable prices. The clothes are trendy but not too... always beautiful color selections and great jewelery and accesories. Have always left this store feeling satisfied with packages under my arms. read more
