I have no complaints about my visit, therefore I am giving them a 5 star. I simply went in for a tire change. I got estimates from a few places. They were all in the same ball park, give or take a couple bucks. Belle Tire told me my tire would cost 249.00. I brought in my bill receipt from my last tire change at discount tire, which was 242.00, and asked if they could do better. They ended up doing it for me for 241.00. I never felt "hustled" because of my gender. They were happy to give me lower price to keep me coming back. All you got to do is ask and do your research on prices! They were true gentlemen from the time I arrived until I left. I had my baby with me and they ran to the door to open it for me. They also made sure to grab door as I left. My wait time was an hour. To me, that's not an issue. I love the fact that I can walk in and have my tire done within an hour and get on with my day! I'll be back! read more

I went to Belle tire today and I received a shouting young man yelling at me to move my car he was an employee there. We parked in the wrong spot but this young man opened our car and he thaught no one was there and he said, " I am going to move this car I don't fuck* care. He thaught no one was in the car but my daughter and I were in the back. I told him what are you doing. He said I need you too move your damn car I have things to do. The lady in the back told him he has no right to open my car door as he did. I saw no manager there. I asked to speak to one. No one came out. So if you ask me the customer service there is no good and I deserved better care this man scared my daughter and I because his intention was to move the car without my husband and I consent. My husband just got off to ask a question. This is not how you treat a customer. This is ridiculous. read more

If I could give a zero I would. Customer service is non existent. I had a 6:30 appointment and rushed there in snowy conditions for my car to sit well pass 7:30. WTF?? Unacceptable as a quick phone call to communicate the delay would have been expected. You do have three counter guys doing a lot of nothing. When the car was finally ready at 8:20, the counter guy was totally dismissive, handed me my keys with no thank you or even a mention as to the location of my car. When I checked my tire pressure it was different for each tire. Wouldn't equal pressure be a minimum expectation at a tire shop? All I can say is this is a Westnedge location issue. I have had great service at other Belle Tires locations. Although it is closest to my home I will plan not to return. Not worth the stress.... read more

The worst experience I've ever seen or heard of. Who takes in a vehicle with a check engine light on and only focuses on the tires and breaks to get it through the winter? The primary concern should have been the check engine light. Unfortunately, Nate tells my mother they will get it back to good working order and take care of any safety issues. I was guaranteed that it would get her through the winter. They fix a minor issue with the engine mount all without an estimate or diagnostics test then after they charge my elderly mother $1,307.02, they tell her she can come pick up the keys. She ended up leaving it there because it couldn't drive faster than 30 mph and they turned around and called the next day about her needing a catalytic converter, which would start at $788.38 and still without an estimate. These people are ruthless and not that bright about proper procedures and customer service. I will be taking them to small claims court for taking advantage of my poor mother. The manager Matt had nothing to say about how this whole situation was handled other than that they couldn't get a hold of her. Such a hot mess of what we would call running a business. For future, make sure you get a diagnostics and estimate first and foremost always. read more

Went into Belle Tire today after my car slid into a curb from the icy roads. At nine months pregnant, I was very nervous that I totally killed my car but all of the workers were super helpful and quite quick finding out what was wrong. We did wait a little bit to get everything fixed and new tires put on because they had a lot of customers but it was definitely worth it. read more

The absolute best tire experience I have ever had. Everyone in the store was very friendly and helpful! I popped my tire a few days earlier and had been running on a full size spare. The staff assessed my tire, saying it was a great candidate to be patched and explained how they would do it. They then explained that because my car was 4 wheel drive they should put the original back on the car so all of the wheels were the same. I left my car there and 2 hours later, they had patched my tire, switched it out with spare, and put the tire cover back on my car. I was expecting around a $60 service charge, but no, it was all free! I will be coming back! read more

Belle Tire wanted to charge me $1,000.00 for a new clutch in my VW Jetta, when all I needed was for the cable to be connected from the clutch to the transmission. I discovered this when I went out and examined the car myself, but the ASE Certified "mechanic," named Randy would not even come out and look at what I was talking about. It was raining outside, so maybe he just didn't want to get wet... maybe he thought I didn't know what I was talking about since he was the mechanic and I was just some guy. Whatever it was, he would not come outside and look at what I was talking about. He said that reconnecting the cable would not fix the problem. I went out, reconnected the cable temporarily with a nut and bolt I found in my trunk, then drove the car down to Otto Kihm (a small automotive repair shop in Kalamazoo) and they reconnected the cable for $52.57. They saved me $947.43 and the car drives perfectly again. Hub assembly warranty that was purchased in 2018 is now not under warranty, havent put many miles on the vehicle either. thought atleast having them replace their shitty parts would be covered, nope we have alot of family that are now taking their business elsewhere like l and v auto, they cover their parts lifetime. read more

Update to my review: they ordered new hub caps and refused to put them on for me. Manager was rude and told me they do not want to do business with us anymore. They will be turned into the better business bureau and regional manager will be notified! I went to Discount Tire and explained to them what happened, and they gladly put the hub caps on for me free of charge - now THAT is good customer service! Guess where I will be going next time, and where I won't be going? Review below also stands: Buyer beware!!! I bought 4 new tires at this location last weekend. Within a few days, I had 2 hub caps fall off. I went in and they gave me the runaround, blaming the hub caps, the manager shouting at me about it in front of a store full of customers. He even took the hub cap out of my hand and broke one of the tabs and told me it was a new break and the other broken tabs were old breaks. If that was the case, shouldn't they have brought that to my attention when they changed the tires??? And who's to say they didn't break the tabs themselves when changing the tires??? I've had the car for a year and a half and not once have I had any fall off. Then I get new tires, and within a few days, 2 hub caps come flying off, and somehow it's my fault and the hub caps fault and not their responsibility? This has happened on two different occasions, and each time I have my dad call, and they *magically* realize the problem can be fixed in a much more simple way. This makes me so mad. I have never written a review, good or bad on Yelp; however, this morning when talking to my daughter about tire replacement quotations, my poor experience with the Westnedge Belle Tire in Portage MI came flooding back. With four drivers in the family, we gave them a tremendous amount of business between 2007 and 2015. After 2016, we had two experiences with this location that changed our buying habits completely. First, I brought in a car for brake work. I received the estimate, had the work done, and then when the bill was presented, I saw that an alignment was added. Since I did not authorize the repair, I forced them to remove it from the bill, which they did with some argument. OK, I thought this is not enough to stop coming here, but I was irritated. Second, I brought in a different car for a brake inspection. They indicated that the rear brakes needed to be done, but I felt the price was high. Instead of having Belle do the work, I took it somewhere else who was much less. About a month later, I took it back to Belle because it would shake and vibrate while on the highway. I asked for a diagnosis. The manager said that they would do a "Safety check" but it would be $25. OK fine. Their tech claimed that one of the rear brakes (the new ones) were locked up (frozen), which was causing the shaking. I told him they were new brakes from the other shop, and they were very animated about how I needed to go back to the other shop and have them fix what they termed "shoddy work" and "he should've seen this". "You should've had your brakes done here." Hmmmm. Now I'm irritated at the other shop - but before I go back there, I take it half a block away to Munro (who did not do the brakes either) for a FREE inspection. Munro stated that my brakes were perfect and the work done by the other shop was fine. They stated that the problem was a bad u-joint and it had NOTHING to do with the brakes. Less than $100 and an hour later, the car was fixed and operating perfectly. I went back to Belle Tire, less than two hours later, feeling ripped off. I asked for my $25.00 diagnosis fee back since the tech was completely wrong. The manager stated "I trust my technician completely," and I would not be receiving my refund. Since I used a credit card, I immediately disputed the charge, and Visa took it to arbitration. I proved my case, and Visa removed the charge permanently. Their lack of integrity was appalling and I wouldn't let "their trustworthy technician" diagnose a flat tire. Due to this experience, Belle has not only lost an entire family's business, but all of our potential referrals. Over only a $25.00 charge. Sometimes the customer is actually right. read more

This is a warning that Belle Tire Westnege store and probably all other Belle stores use a check cashing service called Certegy to verify checks presented to them. Belle's policy on its website states that payment can be made by cash, credit card or check. They do not tell you the check is totally subject to Certegy's approval which is only after the tires are on the vehicle or the work is done. When you call Certegy to find out why a check was denied they have several answers but none are accurate, true or relevant. In my case they said that they had no record of a check I wrote to Belle Tire being submitted for approval. That itself was a total lie as I viewed the monitor at Belle and saw their denial. Certegy has a huge amount of unfavorable press about their business practices and has been forced by the FTC to pay settlements in class actions in the past. Apparently they are back to their old habits. My opinion is that if you have a check denied at Belle Tire or any other store by Certegy for no valid reason given, you should file a complaint with the FTC on both parties. Belle tire has just lost a long time customer. The sad part about that is, I'm going to be replacing wheels and tires on one vehicle and tires on a second vehicle. I doubt it will be there as they don't have the ability to intervene on your part. read more

Had my truck towed in there because I like the guys that work there and I know their work can be trusted. I actually worked for the company for many years off and on. HOWEVER, I was told that the truck spit a spark plug out and needed a heli-coil kit threaded in to save the engine. I okayed the work because, like I said, I trusted their work. Not more than 30 minutes to an hour later, I received a call stating that after the work had been done, the engine was now making a knocking noise. (there was never a knocking noise when the spark plug was initially spit out). So I drove down to the store to hear it for myself. As I was pulling in they were driving the truck out of the shop while it was knocking badly. I immediately started calling around for a new engine. I trusted what they were saying and didn't doubt any of the information. After I left, I received a call from them saying that the knocking "just went away". I thought that was odd but I am not a certified technician so I didn't 2nd guess it. I was sort of relieved. When I did get there to pay the bill and take the truck home, the salesman told me that he drove the truck around and that it was running just fine. I paid the bill and drove off. after about 2 mins of driving, the check engine light started flashing and the truck started jerking around. I had it towed back to them and they told me that cylinder 3, that was just worked on, had no compression. In other words, the truck needs an engine. I had a few friends tell me to get a 2nd opinion on it so I had the truck towed to another trusted technician. That technician told me that it appeared very clearly that the heli-coil kit was threaded too far down which caused the piston (in cylinder 3) to slap against the bottom of the heli-coil, which caused the piston to break. The top of the piston is even stamped with the same shape of the bottom of the heli-coil. I presented this problem to their corporate office and was told that "they will not be participating in replacing the engine". I WILL NOT AND WILL NEVER AGAIN RECOMMEND BELLE TIRE TO ANYONE. I used to send everyone I know there. But that changes today. read more

We have 4 stores and a tire recycling plant that are in Ohio, but all of our other stores {including our warehouse and corporate headquarters in Allen Park} are all in Michigan. Our first store was opened in Detroit in 1922 and have been expanding ever since. We have just recently opened stores in Battle Creek and Monroe. Very poor service. I am writing this review after waiting for more than 2 hours and my SUV is still in the parking lot. I was told 1 1/2 hrs at the most and I am seeing other customers come and gone. Why I am sitting here because I spent 1200 dollars and just need a wheel balancing done. I called the shop this morning to book an appointment and I was told no need, just walk in. I come in and the guy tells me there were prior appointments. Really? Plain lies. It's frustrating to waste my time with a bunch of incompetent people in this shop. We take all of our fleet trucks into Belle for service. They use to do a thorough inspection and let us know what was wrong with the vehicle. Most of the time we did have them go ahead and do the service. Lately, their techs seem to stop at the first issue they find and bring it to your attention but when there are other issues they don't seem to bring them up until later. For example, we took a truck in that had a bad vibration in the front end. They correctly identified that a caliper was hanging up and causing issues. We fixed that only to find out that BOTH upper and lower ball joints on BOTH sides were bad and a tie rod end was sloppy. They noted in the first estimate that only the caliper was bad and that everything else was good. Very disappointed. Never any mention of the worn parts until later on. Poor oversight. read more

Went and bought new tires had them check the alignment, they said wheels were way out of alignment so I had them do the alignment. After the alignment the steering wheel was still off to the right and I noticed after 3 weeks the outer edges of the front tires were wearing. I took the time to bring the car back for a alignment check, they said it was way off and would redo it. After this alignment the steering wheel was off the the left side. I called customer service, they were very helpful and said they would email the manager at Belle tire and have him reach out to me. I has been a week now and I still have not received a call. I plan on calling customer service again. I will not do any further business at this Belle tire service location again! read more

I went up to Belle Tire to see how much it may cost to get a new tire since mine popped some how driving down Westnedge (think I ran over something because my tire instantly went flat and it tore). They told me they would have to check the tread first to determine if they could give me just one new tire or if they had to get me 4 brand new tires (mind you I bought my car brand new off the lot in October 2018) He checks the tires and tells me the tread left is 6/32 and he would recommended me getting new tires and it would be over $170 before tax just for ONE tire. I then left and went to Discount Tire, where they are much more friendly, and they were able to get me the SAME tire for $127 before tax and they checked my tires and the tread was at 9/32 and 8/32 on the tires. So Belle Tire lied about what the tread was left on my tires to try and get money out of me to get 4 brand new tires when I did not need it. They weren't very friendly there either so I would definitely glad I did not go there and definitely would not recommend as they will try and get you out of your money. Especially me being a young college student and I'm a girl, they thought they could get me out of my money. read more

So today I went into this store despite a horrible prior experience. I am a woman, so going into any auto type facility is a challenge enough. My prior experience included me getting back into my car after an oil change with my car having grease and oil in the inside on my door and seat. They offered to clean it and that was that. Today I was pressed for time and no other facility was open for an oil change, so I thought, maybe it was just that one time, NOPE! I even asked prior to giving my keys over if they covered the seats and such for protection, I was told yes, even the steering wheel. I picked up my car, paid, and went out to find oil/grease on everything. The outside of the door, the inside of the door, the seat, the wheel, and the floor! I was so pissed I couldn't even believe it. I walked back in and spoke to the same gentlemen. I just said, you need to see this. He came out and actually sincerely looked pissed too. He cleaned it himself and apologized for the shape my car was in, he did his best, but I still had to clean when I got home and pretty sure I will have to do some more tomorrow after looking up the best why to get that shit out of my cloth seats. Now the gentlemen who was helping me turned out to be a manager, and I felt he truly was pissed and felt bad. He gave me his card and offered to pay for a part that (another) Belle Tire broke while replacing my tires about a month ago, and a free oil change. As for the mechanics who completed my oil change, if I ran into them on the street, I would punch them in the face. I mean, can't people be respectful of other people's belongs?! SO RUDE! I gave one star only because the manager actually seemed sincerely upset about the situation with his staff, I hope he gave it to them. i was writing another review, and saw belle had a few bad ones. i got new tires back in march 2010 at belle, because walmart didn't have my size. the price was more reasonable than i thought it would be, around $310 for four new tires installed. it only took about an hour from start to finish. it was my birthday, and i had my husband and three year old with me. we went to toys r us for a while to pass the time. they gave the little plush belle tire guy to my daughter because she wanted it. it was one of those that talks when you squeeze it. they usually charge like $5 for them, and i wouldn't have bought one, but the guy gave it to her free. i get free tire rotations for the life of the tires, which is nice. all in all, as for cheap tires, i had a great experience at belle. and i will probably go back when i need new tires again. read more

This place is a complete rip off!! I usually go to Discount Tire but Belle " lured" me in with a cheaper tire quote, then told me my car needed over a thousand dollars of repairs......front and rear brake job, front wheel bearings, brake calipers, brake hoses and ball joints? ......RUN THE OTHER WAY FAST!!! They tried to scare me into not driving it because it was unsafe etc. LIARS!! Must be everyone there gets paid on commission! I took my car to Portage Auto Repair for a second opinion and all it needed was front brakes.... pads, rotors and the back brakes cleaned and adjusted for $300.00. I kind of thought it was strange that Belle Tire said my car needed over a thousand dollars of work and it was driving fine! P.S. they fixed 2 of the tires that were leaking too because Belle was too lazy to clean the rims! read more

I started with Belle out of desperation. In short, I needed really good, high end, snow tires suddenly. The original guy spent a lot of time looking for them (fair enough), and promised the tires would be there within a couple of days. Well, that didn't happen. That was the start of one excuse after another. Good luck getting anyone on the phone when you call. I've spent way too much time at their desk, watching guys just milling around doing nothing, and then automatically putting calls on hold when the phone rings. I've used them for valet service, for 3 seasons, at this point. My tires have never been there when promised. I've made appointments, to avoid the lines and delays - doesn't work, my scheduled appointment time comes and goes, with my car still sitting in the lot. I scheduled an 8 am appt (my last) to avoid any delays. Tires weren't there again, even though I was told they would be delivered 2 days before my SCHEDULED appt. What should be a 1 hour appt always turns into a 2+ hour appt. There hasn't been one single time where I came and went in a smooth fashion. I'm done. They're always apologetic, in the end, but I am so done with Belle. read more
