I had the lamb burger which was great, being there on a Tuesday meant any draft beer was on the house with burger purchased. Score! There are other offers on other days of the week. Be sure to check them out on their website menu! The sound is great in the theatre room, clear and crisp. It's difficult to get seating if you're late, so try to get here early if coming for one of the acoustic nights. There's a fair selection of good beers and the place seems friendly overall. In all a nice place to relax and close to the nearby railway/underground station

The menu is brilliant and at not too much of a costly price (the chips are definitely recommended), it is brilliant for a group looking for an entertaining evening out. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights are the best for comedy (the weekends showcase the more renowned comedians with the Banana Cabaret). On some evenings you don't even have to pay to listen to the bands and artists but the staff are pretty strict on keeping talking to the minimum which is absolutely fair enough. In between music, comedy and cabaret they also hold Swing Dance and Tango classes! A great excuse to head to South London. Oh, and ladies - the men always seem to be rather good looking in here!

We brought beer isn't particularly big inside but it is well presented and the recent addition of benches outside makes it much easier to enjoy a drink while coming here to stock up on your favorite Craft beers, As you'd expect there are lot of beers from all over the UK however there is also a very good range of beers from the US and elsewhere in Europe. There is also nicely tucked away in the corner 6 kegs of beer so you can enjoy a pint or two whilst deciding which beers to take home. Whilst the beer selection here is huge it's obvious that a lot of thought has gone into which beers to stock and which styles to concentrate on. The people who run We brought beer certainly know their beers and are very enthusiastic too. I have been fortunate to attend two of the beer talks and tasting sessions and both were very informative and well run.

The selection is great and it is neatly and stylishly presented. There is ample fridge space for bottles, which is good to see. The selection emphasizes UK breweries, and London in particular, but there is also stuff from continental Europe and the US. The staff is friendly and happy to help. The prices are perhaps a touch higher than some other bottle shops around London, but I wouldn't say they are egregious. Convenient location if you're using public transport. Overall, definitely a good shop and worth checking out.

Tucked inside Broadway Market off Tooting High Street, this charming little unit has a pretty decent selection of cans and bottles to buy and take away (a lot are from local breweries, but there are a fair few from elsewhere in the UK and internationally). Manchester's newish-kids-on-the-block Cloudwater were the only north western beers I could spot (I felt inclined to mention to the owner about some other terrific ales they should consider stocking - from Marble, Runaway, Track, Buxton etc.). Not that there was anything wrong with their selection; you just want other beer lovers to get to try the ones you love too :) With two taps on the bar, you can also take a load off and sit on their picnic bench watching the market goers pass by whilst enjoying a pint (it's a covered market so you needn't worry about the weather). There's a cider shop just opposite as well, so it's the perfect spot to grab a few bottles of whatever you fancy on your way home from nearby Tooting Broadway tube station.

I have been a few times after work and no matter what day of the week there is always a real lively atmosphere and everyone is up for a party! They serve a cool selection of cocktails and myself having a terribly sweet tooth, I always go for the ice-cream based ones (try the Irish Disco Biscuit) which are calorific but delicious. I would try and opt for cocktails during happy hour though as they are fairly expensive outside of that at £6.50 each. It does attract a young crowd and if you get easily annoyed by groups of people singing along to cheesy music, it probably isn't the ideal place for you. Good tunes, friendly people and fab atmosphere.

The dress code is casual, the atmosphere loud, hyper energetic, and in your face, and the drinks will get you in the singing mood in no time. Keep your eye out for the specials board as these will not only be good value for money but you are likely to get them served in record time since it's the bartenders' pick of the day. Don't be shy about belting one out if your favourite tune comes out over the speakers. The music mix may also be up to the barstaff as it can be quite eclectic with Linkin Park smashing out one minute and a softer Beatles ballad the next. I've also got to give credit to the barman for making 24 mojitos in one go to satisfy our pub golf group. I'd recommend buying your bartender a drink or two early on in the night. I've found that no matter when I go or even to which B@1, the bartenders love a good drink and will take care of you if you are willing to include them in a couple of rounds. I've even managed to get jaegerbombs passed over a crowd. So listen when I say - GET YOUR BARTENDER A DRINK! Plus, drunk bartenders are a little more generous with the pouring so really everyone is a winner. Overall, it's a good place to start a fun night out. Only problem is sometimes you just don't want to leave.

Sadly for Balham this incarnation falls into the latter classification. It feels tense and hostile in there; sticky (red bull no doubt), dirty and dark. It's one of those pubs that the smoking ban has had a detrimental effect on as the smell of smoke hid the smell of old drunk men and red bull. It sounds better than it is. Smack bang in the middle of Balham high road, a stones throw from the tube, and offering cheap booze and food, you'd be forgiven from popping in for a quick pint. Don't. It's just not that nice. Slightly hostile and tacky is the best I can say for it, though I must say there are times when balham's host of gastro-pubs gets too much, and a simpler boozer is required.
