One of the most cold hearted store managers I've ever seen. I dropped my bike For service in tires which took too long to get. I was hospitalised with lung failure spent 8 days in hospital. The doctors want me in bed to prevent Lung damage. I set my wife to pick up the bike Without the pickup slip and the owner refused to turn it over to her. Even after talking with the owner on the phone in explaining my situation he would not relinquish their bike to my wife. I had to get out of bed strap on the oxygen And go down there myself. I was referred to this shop...told they specialize in old bikes. They don't and won't. I was told that my only option was to order a new non-Schwinn part which came in only two colors; chrome and black. Really? Guess I don't need to paint my part the color I want? Whatever, the guys seemed nice and might be amazing at tune ups and selling new bikes, but, definitely not the place to go for any sort of restoration or vintage bike needs. read more

The guys are really cool that work there so i gave em a shot n came back to purchase a bike for my son after i had initially been in there to purchase a helmet for lil dude .. i had looked into a haro shredder for him and they said they had one in stock ,, one problem !! I had called another bike shop to see what they had and they had the same bike for $40 bucks cheaper , asked the dude helping me there if they could price match and he said he didnt see why not but he had to call the owner ,, fair enough i said then he told me owner said yeah but it had to be a black bike !! Went here to get my front tire trued and was told it would take a few days. I ended up calling a few days later (excellent service over the phone as well) to ask if they could give my bike a tune-up and they were able to do so in just a few more days. when i walked in with wheel in hand, all i can hear is someone talking on the phone 4 octaves louder than necessary. thinking to myself, i hope this guy goes on break so someone else can assist me. well that didn't happen. what did happen, is the loud obnoxious phone talker (Aaron) asked "how can i help you" ok, he's not particularly rude but he is arrogant and did come down in volume by maybe 10 decibels. i'm saying he's arrogant because he made it a point to tell me he has to "run the shop" at least three times in a 10 minute conversation. which stemmed from his overly sensitive reaction from a comment i made about his website needing to be worked on. (which has been under construction for 4 months. as he stated). aside from feeling dejected, Aaron was very knowledgeable but only after he established authority by making it a point to be the supreme know-it-all. this was my second time in the shop within in a weeks time. the first time i came in i spoke with mike. he was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and very informative about my current situation. which is why i'm giving this a 3 star rating instead of a 1. i'm splitting the difference between mike 5 and Aaron 1. i may go back but i doubt it. ultimately my first impression of bellflower bicycles was great and was looking forward to becoming a regular. but then i came back and met the owner. i really wanted this to be my go-to bike shop. this review might not seem like a big deal to others, but the reason i'm posting is to point out the subtle nuisances in customer service and how it can make or break a life long customer. although Aaron may have 17 years in the bicycle business, he still has a lot to learn about cradling a new customer. read more

Last time I stopped into Bellflower Bicycles was about 15 years ago. I had purchased a Haro expert BMX bike for my girlfriend at the time's daughter so she could ride at the local track with me. I was looking for a Chris King headset last week and Aaron was able to order the one I wanted and have it in a couple of days. A man of his word! I was passing by on my commute on bike and my chain has been acting up and from observation prior I knew my chain was going bad so I wanted to see if I could get a chain link just because the rest of the chain was in good condition as far as I knew to my novice nature. I rolled my bike into the shop because they have no place for bikes outside. I thought that was kind of weird for a bike shop not to have a bike rack outside. I rolled it in and while other customers were also inside doing their thing and one waiting at the counter to get waited on. The owner (pretty sure the owner) was scolding one of the employees for not doing something right. He was kind of harsh on him and he was doing it in front of everyone. I stood there for a couple minutes and then he had me ask my question. He suggested to just get a new chain. I asked him if it is possible to just get a link and he did not give a straight answer, when I was just looking for honesty. He did say thought that I could use a power-link instead and he found one in the shop part of the store and he handed it to me. I asked him how much I owned for it and he said "I will just give it to you, come back when you have something more important." It was a nice gesture just giving me the link but no offer to look at my bike that was right beside us or a care to help beyond the simple question I had. read more

I can't even begin to count how many times they've got my bike patched up in a pinch, and help fix issues I didn't know existed, until they pointed them out. Went in for a tube and decided to take a look around.. while I did this the worker just began working on my bike, then charged me twice as much as the tube to install it. We bought 4 mountain bikes (Trek) for the family. They spent a decent amount of time explaining us what type of bikes were good for our kids, their age, size, and also for my husband and I. We asked so many questions, and they answered each one of them always patiently. We didn't purchase the bikes right away, We came back to their shop at least twice, since we were comparing other shops around the area. Their prices were the best, the guy running the shop was very honest and friendly, that after comparing three or four shops we decided to get all our bikes and a rack from here. In the large showroom you will find what seemed like mainly Trek bikes...and the customer service is great! The gentlemen that assisted us was VERY knowledgeable and helpful. He can order what you need and have it within a day or two. The young man there was also very helpful, made adjustments to the bikes we tried out to fit us. They listened to my concerns and offered suggestions that worked. We were looking around to compare bikes and prices. With all that said and done the day was long. By the time we tried it all it was late and they'd closed. We purchased elsewhere due to us being on a time crunch. But this place is really cool! They rock the service. Any time I walked in this guy wouldn't greet me after going several times he looked at me as if I was a nuisance.
