I had a stiff neck due to an abscess on my neck which was quite painful. Dr. recommended me Flucloxacillin antibiotics. A few days into the dose the abscess became soft as it was filled with pus. I had to re-visit the Dr.s and was given Clindamycin antibiotics. 2 days into the dose the antibiotics kicked in and I could see the abscess drying up and forming a scab.
