You choose the time you want to deliver the car, pay online and leave it there until the job is done. They will call you and report if work needs to be done to pass the MOT , how much it costs and when to collect. The staff is really friendly and understanding if you are late. I missed the first appointment and they offered to rebook. The location is a bit outside of town, but there are plenty of buses and the tram close by - into town and to South Gyles shopping centre, if u feel like shopping during your waiting hours. I recently paid a visit to Farmer Auto care after the AA said to me to go to them and say I have a…read moreflat tire and could they repair it for me. In the past I have hated going to garages as being a woman I felt I was being told a lot of crap because I knew nothing about cars. This time I was surprised and I had a female who dealt with the tire. Today I thought I had a slow puncture so I went to them again. I was dealt with by John the manager whom was very friendly and professional. He got someone to deal with it and he showed was the problem was and it wasn't a puncture so they fixed it. I can honestly say as a woman I feel happy going there because I was treated with respect. Maybe it's a generation thing as the staff are a different generation and some of the older generation in the past can and have been sexist not to mention condescending! Guess I will continue to deal with them as and when.

Phoned the dudes at Green Flag and their local contractor, these guys, was on the scene within the hour. They hauled the jalopy back to their garage in quick time and had it fixed within a day at a well reasonable cost. Great and friendly service from all involved, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again... Although ah hope ah don't huv tae...;)

Broke down on the Edinburgh City Bypass early this morning. Called my recovery service around 7am…read moreand told someone would be with me within the hour. It was freezing and the traffic was racing by not a nice place to be. Anyway they arrived within 15minutes I was so happy to see him. The guy was brilliant checked my car, I asked him if you could take it to the garage which was no problem. Ram was the recovery driver and he was so friendly and put me at ease, told me to sit in the cab as I was freezing and bit overwelmed with all this. I have never used this service before but these guys were fantastic, everyone should make sure that Robert W Brownlie is their breakdown service.
