She gave me a dress only a few weeks before the wedding 4 sizes too big and the buttons didn't even match. She offered to pay for rush alterations with her associate, Only time for 1 fitting. Please avoid this bridal shop!! I never want what happened to me to happen to another bride. I received confirmation of my dress on August 25th, 2025 and was told it was on the way. My order was repeatedly delayed with no explanation. I received a tracking number and link stating that my order had arrived. After the store owner, Ashley, had been dodging my texts and calls for months, I finally texted her and stated that my mom would be there to pick up my dress, or else I'd be filing a police report. Only then did the store owner, Ashley, confirm that my mom could come in. The day that my mom was supposed to come in, the owner called me and admitted to sending me fake tracking information that was for an entirely different dress, and that my dress was "still in production" after 9 months. I contacted the designer directly who told me it should have only taken four months to arrive after my order was placed. I cannot in good conscience recommend Beloved Bridal to any bride. My experience with them was one of the most stressful situations I've ever dealt with, and it happened in the weeks leading up to my wedding. I was sold what turned out to be a floor sample, though the communication around this was dishonest from the start. I was repeatedly lied to about when my dress would arrive -- and I later discovered that my measurements were never even sent to the designer, Sarah Seven. When I reached out to Sarah Seven directly, they were incredibly gracious and confirmed that the last dress they had sent to Beloved was a size 14, which appeared to have been altered down and sold to me. Sarah Seven stepped in and sent me a brand new dress, saving my wedding day entirely -- no thanks to this shop. On top of that, I was charged the wrong card without an apology, I spent $1,000 on emergency alterations just to make the dress wearable, and a scarf I paid for wasn't delivered until the week before my wedding despite repeated follow-ups and promises it would be overnighted with a tracking number. When I sought reimbursement, I was offered only half my alteration costs and met with deflection rather than accountability. This bridal shop is a complete fraud. Owner makes appointments feel magical, collects payment, and then becomes impossible to get a hold of and evades appointments. My sister is a bride that ordered a dress here and had to constantly beg the store owner for any updates. 9 months post ordering the dress, she still does not have the dress delivered with less than 3 months until her wedding. We have received false tracking info and have heard the owner lie about being able to send us a picture of the dress. We have been in contact with several other brides that have similar stories. As a bride on a budget/looking for deal and looking for my "second dress" for my reception, I had amazing luck with their February sample sale. Instead of having a specific "leftover" style sale rack, most samples were "up for grabs" ahead of the new season's dresses coming in. I had the best time and felt special. Hannah was phenomenal to work with. She truly listened to the aspects of a style and we literally landed on two copies of almost the same dress. Incredible! I felt like we were on the same wavelength. In addition, since my family lives out of town and I came without friends (rather last minute for the sale), she still helped me have a wonderful time. I made my very first dress appointment here and it did not go very well. Firstly, you cannot get a real person on the phone when you call - every time it goes straight to voicemail and you have to wait for a return phone call. Secondly, I was never sent the building location and entrance instructions. My appointment was at 11am - I am driving from Detroit and arrived 30 minutes early to park and make my way inside. I spent over 20 minutes circling the block, frantically asking each business owner if they knew how to get to the suite. What this business forgot to tell me was the door location, code and that you only have 15 seconds to make your way from the front doors to back building elevator. I emailed multiple times after my appointment to get the details for dresses I did like and never got a response. I paid $50 for this experience. The dresses have obviously been tried on multiple times and have not been cleaned. There were makeup marks all over them, sweat stains and some tears. I had Chandra- which I have to say did an excellent job! If it was not for her I would give this place 0 stars. But overall the experience was tainted and put a sour taste in my mouth. I ended up buying a dress online from a totally different designer. I do not recommend this shop unfortunately. read more

They are so great, it makes me want to cry. I visited MANY different bridal stores, all over Wayne, Macomb and Washtenaw county - nothing compares to Beloved Bridal's 1-1 service, privacy and care for you personally, non-pushy and understanding service; unique selection of dresses from key designers; great options within reasonable (or if you're in for it- super expensive) price ranges and ease of making appointments. This was the first place I visited when I started dress hunting early (+12 months), I was so nervous to make a huge financial decision for an item that would touch my skin for less then 24 hours. From the moment I walked in, Hannah greeted me calmly, listened to my excitement and worries and worked with me every step of the way - or when needed , space to breathe and think. I appreciated her from the moment go. I visited other places, never getting that feeling back and never being satisfied with selections so I went back to Beloved Bridal for a 2nd time. Now I've found what I like but I wanted customization- and this designer allowed it! I learned that this is not so common (and actually never found another location that carried designer that allowed this). On my third visit I was ready to make the decision, armed with education and confidence in my choice. Never once did Hannah try to take me out of my price range. She worked hard to follow up with the designer on my questions of customization, getting quotes and in the end - I got exactly what I wanted. I wanted the experience to be private and intimate and I got exactly that. Brides to be, if you ever feel a tinge of pressure or the feeling you need to change your mind to accommodate a company/designer/or your family even - don't do it. Don't compromise because this is a HUGE decision and you will be unhappy if you don't listen to your heart. Beloved Bridal gives you space to do this, to love and be excited in this dress choosing experience and I'm sure you'll find "The One" (dress ) here. Before I was engaged, I always dreamed of shopping at the Gown Shop. The lovely gowns displayed in the front window of the building drew me in each time I walked past. Once engaged, the Gown Shop was my first stop when looking for the perfect wedding dress! The Gown Shop is appointment only. Prior to your appointment, you will speak to one of the gown specialists by phone and fill out an online questionnaire. This method helps your gown specialist understand what you might be looking for and at what price point, so that you might have the best possible shopping experience. Gowns are pulled for you during your appointment with adjustments made to suggested styles based upon your feedback on each gown (e.g. What do you like about it? Dislike? etc). I never had the opportunity to browse the racks of gowns, which bothered me somewhat - Maybe it was my FOMO, but I wondered "What isn't she showing me?" Finally, photos are not permitted until the end of the appointment, and only your top two gowns are to be photographed. When I received a pre-appointment email outlining the "rules," I was turned off - - What kind of overly pretentious gown shop is this?! Honestly, I can now imagine why this policy is in place - I was able to get through a lot more gowns during my appointment without pausing for pictures, which ultimately maximized my one-hour shopping experience. In the end, I did not buy my dress from the Gown Shop. I found "the one" elsewhere. Nonetheless, the Gown Shop is a worthwhile stop if you are looking for a higher end gown in the Ann Arbor area. After selecting a wedding dress from another bridal store almost a year out from my wedding date in June, I immediately felt like I made the wrong decision. I went to The Gown Shop a couple months ago for a trunk show. It was my first time dress shopping for myself, although I had been here previously with a friend. The Gown Shop is truly an amazing place if you want to feel special. You have the whole beautiful loft full of gorgeous dresses and the owner Stacy all to yourself. As I have been to a few bridal gown shops now, I can say this is a unique experience. Stacy is so friendly and makes you feel comfortable in a potentially high stress experience. The dresses here are really so beautiful. TGS carries gowns that other bridal salons in Michigan do not carry. This also means that they can be fairly expensive, but that is because they are very high quality and of great design. Unfortunately for me, I was so excited for the trunk show that weekend that I went without knowing my venue or even what my true gown budget was. And instead of falling for a dress from the trunk show I fell in love with an Amy Kuschel gown. However, I was not ready to commit and Stacy put absolutely no pressure on me to purchase the gown (which ended up not being right for my venue). While TGS does carry some dresses under $2000, it would be best if your budget is (well) over that if you want to try on the really beautiful gowns. In any case, I had a fantastic time here and I'm so glad for the experience, and would definitely recommend this shop if you're looking for wedding gowns. read more

We had a one-hour appointment to look at gowns. After a brief discussion about what the bride wanted and pointing out locations of dresses she might like, the bride looked around and picked some dresses. The other ladies weren't really encourage to pick dresses. I really liked that the changing room was also the display stage. It helped that you could talk to the bride while she was in there and it made changing a lot faster. However, it felt really, really rushed. This place can only accommodate one group at a time, so we were very rushed and the sales were really pushed. Maybe some people can spend $5k on a dress without having a lot of time to think about it, but we're not one of them. It was like some reality show. The last dress, that the bride really liked, still had some issues. The sales lady said the company could change all those things, but still seemed to be pressuring us into a purchase, and so we would've been buying a dress we had no idea what it would look like. She also didn't suggest veils or anything to help her look more "bridal". There was an entire rack of dresses that the consultant didn't even discuss. Maybe they were our of our price range or maybe they were already purchased or something, but at least say something about it. On a side note, there seemed to be cookies in the back (though we weren't allowed to bring food or drinks). I think a vendor was trying to show off their wares. This would've been fine, had their been a sign like "take one!" or something. Poor vendor if that was the case. Otherwise it was strange to have food out that was either inedible or forbidden to eat. This is a beautiful shop in downtown Ann Arbor. Décor is simple-chic and the dressing rooms are quite spacious with the right amount of privacy for the bride and friends. There seems to be a large selection of dresses here as well. Unfortunately, no walk-ins here. You need to make an appointment and at the time of booking your appointment, you have to provide your credit card number. If you don't cancel within 48 hours, you'll be charged $50. 48 hours seems a bit excessive, seeing that a lot of elective doctors offices only require a 24-hour cancellation... The person we worked with was quite rude. She was dismissive of bridesmaid's opinions. I can appreciate that it's all about the bride, but obviously, when a bride brings one friend (as opposed to several), this one person is someone whose opinion that the bride values...The rep also didn't quite seem to get what the bride wanted. For every 5 dresses she pulled, we sent 4 back because they were so far from what we were describing. I was a bride- I found my dress elsewhere. I really loved the Gown Shop, as well as Stacy (the owner). I went to the Gown Shop after trying on a few dresses at David's Bridal. The two places could not be any more different. The Gown Shop's physical store is breathtaking--tall ceilings in an expansive room lined with delicate dresses... and the entire place to yourself. I met with Stacy for about an hour. In that time I tried on a large handful of dresses and found a few that I was curious about. Stacy was thoughtful about selecting dresses given my requests, and was very kind about helping me into them. Throughout, I felt really encouraged and happy. I didn't get to try on a dress in my desired style, but I did get to try on dresses that opened my mind to what might work for me. I continued to email with Stacy about her borrowing a few sample dresses specifically for me to try on. I only stopped in that process because I found a dress elsewhere (Bombshell Bridal), but was nonetheless amazed at the customer service here. The dresses here are by a select set of designers. They're all a little higher end [than what you'd find at David's Bridal, at least], but despite the larger price tag, the good news is that each dress is made by the designer specifically for the recipient, so they are fully tailored and customizable as you buy them. Don't like the slit down the leg? Your dress won't have it. Want a higher back? You got it. Don't want a bubble hemline? No bubble hemline for you. The only reason I'm giving the Gown Shop four stars instead of five is that they didn't have dresses in sample sizes above 12, I believe. So that's the equivalent of an 8 or 10 in everyday clothing? I am bigger than that, though not terribly so, and as such was limited to trying on a few specific dresses, and then to having them half-tried-on. I was able to get an idea of how each dress looked (an open back--as I could not zip/button it up--was clipped to my bra so the front looked as normal as possible), but it's not the same as really being in a dress. I think if the Gown Shop carried some samples in bigger sizes, it would be unstoppable. Their attitude, the experience of trying on dresses here, and the gorgeous dresses they have... it would all come together so well. I left my appointment feeling so warm and excited. It's that time in my life where I get to go out pick a white dress and get hitched!!! I'm a huge fan of shopping, window shopping and just spending money... Living in Dallas for the past 5 years I was spoiled with malls and amazing shopping. I was helped by first heather when I started my wedding dress shopping and she was beyond sweet just like all of her Yelp reviews. When I came back for another trial I learned heather was no longer there. Which was sad but I was able to meet Kat, who is also just as sweet. Their sample selection is probably one of the best I've seen so far and their gowns are still in really good shape! One thing I didn't like was having to wait for your appointment outside of the shop. They lock their doors until it's your turn which I understand but also kind of awkward knocking on the door, especially if you arrive 5 mins early. The only way you get to brows the dress is by making an appointment which in sure some girls just want to look first. I didn't end up getting a dress at the moment but I do have one in mind. The girls are very nice and really try to help you find the one. Sometimes it's hard to just say yes when you know there so many options out there! read more

I bought my wedding dress from The Gown Shop after an awesome first shopping experience. Audrey was super helpful and made my mother and I feel at ease with ordering my gown. However, after that first purchase, the customer service and the quality of my gown were both lacking. I purchased a lace overlay/jacket to go over my strapless gown, and the first time i tried it on after purchasing (while a staff member was putting it on me), a button fell off. Not what I would expect from an overlay that was almost $1000. The staff tried to tell me that I could bring it to a seamstress (at an extra cost), and we had to push to get the shop to fix the button on a jacket that I had not even taken home yet. They also said they would give me multiple extra buttons in case that happened again, but when we picked it up after the repair, there was only one extra button. I could have overlooked all of that as small potatoes if another button would not have fallen off AGAIN, on the morning of my wedding, while I was putting on my dress. Believe me, brides, that is not what you want to happen. Thankfully, my mother is a great seamstress and fixed the issue, but the top of the button fell off again during photos and we didn't notice it until I was about ready to walk down the aisle. Basically, it was disappointing to spend so much on something that kept having quality issues. Natalie is an incredible stylist! I looked long and hard for my dress from Kleinfeld in NY to BHLDN and other shops in the area. Natalie blew the other stylists out of the water. The selection they have is great and she is very patient. I came in twice to try on and came back a third time to pay and she was exceptionally kind. AUDREY IS FANTASTIC! I bought my dream wedding dress from her and although she showed me several different beautiful dresses, I knew that I had found the dress the moment I put it on. Audrey has been awesome since the very beginning. She always returns emails in a timely manner as well as phone calls and is always pleasant to deal with. I cannot recommend this place enough. FYI to those who are used to going to crappy wedding showrooms, this is not one of them. They run a tight operation and they have a great business and a great selection. You will need to put down a credit card for your appointment and that should not be a big request as booking these hour time slots for brides and their bridal parties and parents is their business - their bread and butter if you will. I believe I worked with Natalie, and she was absolutely sensational. I had a rough idea of what I wanted but I wasn't sure exactly. I told her my ideas and she knew what to show me. The FIRST DRESS I tried on was the perfect dress, and it was stunning. Everyone I brought with me agreed that this was the one. Of course I still tried on several others just to make sure, and they were all beautiful. The first one was just the one. I also got my veil and headpiece there, which were also perfect. I felt like a queen on the day of my wedding. I was so happy with the whole ensemble and with my experience there. The Gown Shop was my best friend (J)'s first stop looking for dresses and we were absolutely thrilled with the service and the selection. The venue is gorgeous (great lighting, lots of open space, comfortable chairs to wait in, mirrors-mirrors-mirrors) and set an elegant and calm tone. I was quite impressed with how quickly Stacy (the owner) was able to get a feel for the types of dresses that J was interested in since neither of us have the vocabulary to describe fabrics, cuts, or style. Even after finding two great dress options within J's budget, Stacy brought out other styles to provide points of comparison to make sure J was comfortable and didn't feel like she was narrowing her vision too quickly. Stacy was thoughtful and kind and also has a great eye with regard to potential modifications the designer could make to the dress. She was also generous enough to extend the appointment a few extra minutes so J could try on the two favorites one last time before leaving. read more

If you don't end up finding your dress here, that's okay because you will have had wonderful experience trying on dresses at the Gown Shop. For one thing, you get this beautiful fairy tale-like shop all to yourself and your guests. I felt rather special not having to share my mirror space or the metaphorical spotlight with other brides trying on dresses. Stacy, the shop owner, was very welcoming and so much fun. Along with being amazingly efficient at helping me in and out of dresses, she listened carefully to what I thought about each dress and was respectful of my budget. My favorite aspect of this shop has to be the curtain reveal. The "dressing room" is really an area on the floor with a pedestal behind some very high pink curtains, which Stacy swings open once you're ready to show off your dress to your guests, who are sitting right outside of the curtained area. Maybe I'm just a sucker for curtain reveals, but it added to the level of excitement I was already feeling that day. My first visit here was all about trying on as many dresses as possible, and by my second appointment, I was ready to buy the dress, as well as the veil, headpiece, belt, and shoes, which was kind of difficult because all of the accessories Stacy had on display were beautiful and it was tough to decide! Beloved Bridal gave me the exact wedding dress shopping experience that I wanted! Megan was WONDERFUL to work with and helped me find my dream wedding dress!! She was kind and so supportive during my appointment. All of their dresses are beautiful and they have many to choose from! It is such a cute boutique and they play a playlist of your choice as you try on dresses. Overall it was an amazing experience. I highly recommend this place! read more

I was told at booking that I could cancel my appointment 24 hours in advance. I called to cancel and was told that it's 48 hours, so I got charged $50. The owner was extremely unprofessional in the way she spoke to me and my dad. She told my dad that he was raising me incorrectly, as I believed that i didn't have to pay for services rendered. However, there was no service rendered! She also lied to my dad and told him that I came into the store and authorized a charge on my card - no charges were ever authorized, as I live in Cleveland and haven't been in Toledo since Thanksgiving. The business owner was extremely unprofessional in the way she lectured me and my father. Charges were never authorized to my account, so we are moving forward with a dispute and they won't get their beloved $50. Interesting, because my bad reviews will likely cost them more than $50 in the end. read more
