I booked online about an hour before arriving and the booking had gone through and we were treated really well and got lots of useful information and help from the reception. The dining room/breakfast room pays homage to the city's local hero, Enzo Ferrari, which is a nice touch. Recommend this place highly also for the fact that it is only about a 10-15 minute stroll to the Duomo/cathedral.

When I came back I realized that they had set a table in the lobby for me. The mother of the front desk operator (Alex) came out and made me one of the best Italian dinners I have ever had. Everyone was very friendly. You can tell they are upgrading everything from wifi to new TV's with changeable Audio for English or Italian on some channels.

They are very accommodating to odd check in/check out hours and offer a standard Italian breakfast (simple) with fresh pastries. Ask for a room on the top floor as they are quieter - not so much from outside noise (the motorcycles and mopeds can always be heard), but from the late night antics of other patrons that will happen from time to time. Hey, Parma is a romantic city! There is typical Italian parking in front of and behind the hotel (= tiny places), but I always had plenty of room to maneuver a 5 series bimmer. It was very spacious and clean, perfect for our family of four. There was a lift we could use in this building, as well as a washer and dryer in our unit and a full kitchen with dining area. The air conditioning worked great in hot July. The location couldn't be more perfect, right across the street from the castle and the main piazza. The innkeepers spoke enough English to get us checked in and make a few local recommendations, but I will work more on my Italian lessons for next time!
