The school truly nurtures independence, curiosity, and confidence in its students. Over the years we've watched Jack grow not only academically but also personally, developing strong communication skills, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. One of the most special opportunities recently was his participation in the MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) conference in New York. Seeing students represent their schools and countries on an international stage at such a young age speaks volumes about the quality of education and encouragement they receive at Montessori Institute of Broward. The leadership at the school is exceptional. Ms. E, the principal, creates a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired. She truly leads with heart and vision. Jack's Grade 4 teacher, Ms. Kay, has also been outstanding--patient, dedicated, and deeply invested in her students' growth. She challenges them academically while also nurturing their confidence and character. We are incredibly grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and inspiring school community. Montessori Institute of Broward has played a huge role in shaping Jack into the curious, confident young person he is becoming. Luke aged 5 is also thriving at MIB and i cant wait to see how he progresses.

We have been fortunate to have experienced many great teachers throughout the years in both Parrot and Otter rooms and will continue with the school until sixth grade (or more if they open a middle school). Would highly recommend!

I pulled my son out after seeing several incidents involving bullying on the grounds while pulling up to the main office. Not one Academy employee was in sight each time the incidents occurred. Before I begin, PLEASE dont allow this school to lead you to believe that they "...don't have any…read morerecord of my name in their files", as this is a 100% lie. That is their generic response to ALL negative reviews. Check it out. My daughter was in the Kindergarten class of Ms. Brianna for 2 weeks. Snack time is "optional" (up to the teacher) and my daughter's class had the street sign "Galaxy Avenue" in the hallway pointing toward the classroom. So, in less than 2 weeks of my daughter being there, she had her hair pulled 3 times (by the same boy) and was intentionally kicked by a boy that was going down the slide too soon (right behind her). Now, I know these kind of things happen. Boys will be boys, right? The problem was that the teacher claimed to have seen none of this. No discipline was handed down to any of these kids after she was informed of their behavior either. My wife wrote a letter to the teacher explaining the situation (the letter has to be handed to an administrator as this is the only way that you can initiate contact with a teacher, by the way). The teacher called her over later that day to discuss it. In addition to the extreme defensiveness and bad attitude she displayed, she accused my daughter of "instigating" these situations. The same daughter that was very shy and intimidated by going to a new school AND that won a Character Education Award for best self control in her entire age group the year before! Sound like an "instigator" to you? She also made up a lie about my daughter handing another kid a pair of scissors and asked that she cut her hair (she has never had a haircut and is scared of getting one). So, we requested a sit down meeting. As we found out in short order at this meeting, there was no attempt to offer a solution to this issue as the teacher (and the 2 other administrators there) were only concerned about defending the teacher. No empathy whatsoever for the student, just "were right and you're wrong". We withdrew her after this meeting. They couldn't care less about disciplining bad behavior or admitting any kind of fault or expressing empathy toward the student. Stay away!

Everyone is so loving, respectful, and caring of the parents and children that it truly has a family feel to it. It makes us feel so at ease knowing that our son spends so much of his time there. We know that he is surrounded by other adults that love him. Unlike other daycares we visited in the area, the staff at KAP has been around a long long time; an indication of a happy place to be. This is especially important for parents and their kids as a strong bond is required with caregivers. He has also flourished in language, motor skills, and manners/respect. He is one smart little boy and communicates so well! We know this is largely in part to the attentiveness of the teachers and the activities they all do with the kids. Not once have I ever walked in and seen the kids unattended or any teachers on their phones. Not one single time. I am so happy and thankful to have found this spot and actually have 3 friends who enrolled their kids in the school as well, and also love it. I plan on putting my daughter in this center once she is of age as well :)

Kudos to the principal Miss Juliet, Teachers like Miss Kacey, miss walker, miss Nikia and miss Nicky. Just to name a few because all the staff are awesome. I would recommend this school to anyone.

First let me say that we were happy to be supporting a Black owned school that catered to special…read moreneeds students. Unfortunately, our experience had been less than ideal. Let me preface this review to say this is specifically for parents with high functioning students w/ ADHD/ASD who struggles with behaviors and other issues that has caused issues in public school. I'm speaking directly to the parents who feel like they need a place that has patience for kids like theirs but can still have high standards for them, so they're able to thrive educationally. Let's first begin with the positives: Dicken Sanomi is absolutely a family school. Your child will be known very well and the school has great programming for extra curricular activities like trips and social events and relationship building activities in ways I've never seen in public school. Our sons teacher Ms. Burton was the best teacher we had thus far in my sons education experience. She was caring, loved him dearly, and really went above and beyond for him. She believed in him and we never had that in public because public school struggles with students with disabilities and it's evident! The school was responsive and did respond to emails and concerns but follow through on requests (status of received services like speech therapy was inconsistent, he never received any services or had a plan in place similar to an IEP like we were promised prior to registration. That never happened). The negatives: Academics are subpar. My son has been ABOVE AVERAGE academically. We literally feel like we wasted an academic year at this school. My son received straight A's from Dicken Sanomi all school year and them bombed his end of year tests. How does a child receives 'A' grades and acknowledged as being at the top of his class but struggle to pass the standardized test at the end of the school year?! How does this happen? To note, my child ended 2nd grade with a 98 in Math and an 84 in Reading with a reading level that was beginning 3rd grade. How does a child who is that academically strong not pass the test at the end of the year? We would check in about academics throughout the year and could never really get a true read on what he was doing academically. Also, there's no homework so we weren't able to see what he was doing in school on a weekly basis. They do have a portal, but it only says what the teachers are doing in class. However, we don't get anything home, so how do we know what's really going on in class? We're not going into 4th grade confident because not only are we concerned that behaviors may re-emerge, but now he may be struggling academically. Which was never a concern for us before. Violence and bullying. My son was bullied throughout the year, he also participated in misbehaving as well, but the bullying he got from these students were like nothing we ever experienced before. I don't know if this is socially appropriate for this age group, but it was insufferable at time. The school doesn't call home for most things, so if you don't mind that, then this is the school for you! At this point, we'd rather know he's struggling than only hearing from the school when things blow up. We also felt that we heard about when our son would do things but not when things were done to him (i.e. being bitten or hit by other children, there was radio silence from the school and unkept promises to follow up). To that end, if academics is a priority for you, 0/10 would not recommend. If you're looking for a place that has more patience than public then this may be a fit. However, for us the lack of academic rigor, lack of follow through, and unfair treatment when it came to bullying simply wasn't worth it for us.
