Additionally, the wireless routeres were replaced after our feedback and so now I am able to comfortably relax in my room and provide this update via a strong wireless connection. I will say too that week two the customer service from the front desk was still as great as last time. Also, this hotel has amazing insulation values becasue it stays warm...and the bed was much better on the second visit.

The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated with a relaxing green theme that gave off a warm, rustic vibe. The food was absolutely fantastic -- every meal was fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. After long days on the water, it hit the spot every time. What really made the lodge special were the fire pits scattered around the property. There was always a cozy spot to hang out, swap stories, and unwind. And with enough wood to burn for weeks, the fire never stopped! The Cannery Lodge made our trip unforgettable, and we'll definitely be back next year. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and comfortable Alaskan getaway.

If you are considering booking your wedding here you should expect too pay a couple hundred more than they tell you initially , also there is a ton of random furniture that they are not willing to move , our solution was to rent a movie theater curtain and hang it with scaffolding cutting off about 10 ft of the room, and than moved all the furniture behind it. We than put the head table and front and it ended up looking better than if we had not. Overall I would give 2 stars , for lack of communication on their part, because we were told many different on many things by different employees on what time we could get there to set up , if we could move the furniture out , and the random sum of charges that weren't mentioned until after our event The furniture problem cause a big set back the morning of our wedding so I hope our solution helps you (: I would however give 5 stars for beauty in the end , because with enough work , communication and decorating it can be a very lovely venue

It was so nice to be on a smaller boat with an enclosed cabin that helped to keep us out of the weather during our trip to and from the fishing places. Colton cleaned the fish right on the deck and the fish processor met us at the dock. It couldn't have been easier. Would highly recommend.

Best guides, closest to the best fishing, great support staff!…read more Having lived near the Kenai River for over 30 years and still avidly fish the river, I know these folks are top notch guides. One of the best things about HiLo is their location. They are located on Beaver Hole on the lower river. A lot of the other lodges on the river either are located much further upriver or meet you somewhere on the lower river. With Hi-Lo, you step off their dock and 10 yards aways is one of the very best fishing spots on the lower Kenai River. If you want to catch fish that are blushed or turning red, then fish upstream. If you want to have the first crack at the first fish coming out of the Ocean and into the river silver bright and in mint shape, then you have to fish with Hi-Lo if you don't want to wait at some launch in the dark hoping the guides show up or start an hour earlier in the morning at 5am so the guide has time to run downriver through a hundred boats in the dark. Eat breakfast, step on the boat, and literally one minute later you are fishing in a premium spot. I have my own boat and base out of a launch several docks from them and ALWAYS use their services to help book my friends trip not only for salmon but halibut charters and any other activities. I fish side by side with their boats often and I ALWAYS get out fished. Very knowledgeable folks. When ever we fish late or we catch too many fish (haha, yes it happens!) I can rely on Melissa and their crew to get my fish processed for my guests. Always comes out perfectly Having fished the Kenai river since 1971, there are only several outfits I can personally give my stamp of approval to and Hi-Lo is one of them!

Be prepared to carry up your luggage if upstairs as there are no elevators. Love the different Alaskan animals that adorn the walls both going up the stairs and also in restaurant. Had an ihome alarm radio that you can set your iPhone on to charge. Small fridge they stock with Fiji waters for you. And small coffee cup sized keurig machine, with cups and creamers some sugars etc. also a microwave. Tv on wall , dial phone under it on a desk with office chair. Small round table with two seats and two separate beds same room. Basically 4 minutes away from most things in Kenai and 15 from soldotna!

Mark (our guide) is very professional and it appears he knows the Kenai like the back of his hand. He suggested having dinner at Mykel's where they prepared our fresh caught salmon three different ways. We had grilled salmon, salmon florintine, and salmon with a raspberry sauce. It was incredibly delicious. The Sports Den is truly as good as it gets. Jim and Mark provided my family and I with a truly remarkable experience and one that will never be forgotten!
