Went for breakfast this morning and everything, I mean everything was perfect! Ordered a poached egg with burnt home fries and rye toast. Egg cooked perfectly. Home fries crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. Yum yum. Everything nice and hot and fresh. Our server Holly was wonderful and such a sunny disposition. New spot.... New to me and wifey. Located right off of Belcher near the intersection of Belcher and NE Coachman rd. They are open for Bfast and Lunch. They have a good amount of items to choose from. It's a causal relaxed place to get breakfast and start your day. The staff is very friendly and quick and work like a well oiled machine (love that everyone's each other). My family and I stopped for breakfast, on our way home from Safety Harbor, after watching the sunrise. The spot is easy to find and resides in a small strip mall. From the outside you would think it's small, but it's not. It's surprisingly large when you get inside the door. It is very clean, cozy, and well lit, and Customer service is on point. There was no wait time and we could seat ourselves(We were there early morning). I had the fruit waffles with whip cream that were very delicious! The fruit is really fresh fruit. My wife had the Sausage Benedict but, she was able to have a traditional also, instead of just having the sausage. While driving around trying to find a local spot, we came across Benedicts which has been in business for 30 years. I ordered the Mediterranean quiche without the bread. The waitress made it a point to come back and ask if I really didn't want it. Clearly, we needed to take it. Hubby chose the cranberry and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is typical older cafe style and does need some updating. The servers were super attentive and friendly. Would very much recommend. read more

The men's group at our church has started coming to Benedict's for a few months, switching from a local place we've gone to for a few years. I was disappointed we were switching, but now I know why! I can't speak for their lunch or dinner, but the breakfast menu and food is DELICIOUS! Not only that, but the portions are huge, it came out hot and fast, and our server Amaya was sweet and took really good care of us! I got the Philly Cheesesteak omelette special, which came with home fries (chopped red potatoes) and your choice of toast or English muffin. Again, it was HUGE and the serving of hash browns was piled high. The omelette itself was full of the steak and sliced mushrooms, peppers and onions, and just the right amount of cheese. One of the other guys next to me got a half-order of biscuits and gravy, and the guy across from him got the full order. The half order would've been too much for me, but the full order filled an entire large plate. Someone else at the table got a side of the pumpkin pancakes (seasonal and a $3 up charge I believe), and it was a short stake of the biggest pancakes I've ever seen. He said they were delicious and commented he was at First Watch last week and they wanted to charge him $8 for a pancake on the side. Our waitress was awesome. As far as the food and cleanliness of the place, I don't understand how they have such high reviews. I had pancakes and bacon that were horrible. The orange juice was good. The restaurant is relatively small, but packed. I'm guessing it's for the locals in the area it's located. This is not a place I would recommend or come back too. Save your money. In the area and because of the reviews we wanted to stop for brunch. Had to watch for it because it's right on the front corner of a strip mall and almost missed it. We were seated immediately. Not real busy at 11:00 AM. Menus brought and drink orders taken and quickly brought. Since we just came from Weight Watcher meeting we were looking for low points foods. Now ordinarily I would probably have picked a country fried steak or biscuits and gravy, but wayyy too many points! My wife ordered the Western Omelette, as usual, with fresh fruit and whole wheat toast. Following her example I ordered the Mediterranean Omelette with spinach, tomatoes, onions and feta cheese. It was fantastic and huge. Tons of spinach and other ingredients. My wife's omelette was also great. The fruit cup that came with it was very good. Strawberries, grapes and pineapple was fresh and delicious. However, the melon chunks were too firm and not ripe. Where can you get a Benedict burger? Well, at Benedict's of course! I ordered it as soon as I saw it on the menu! To their credit, they asked how I wanted it cooked. It's 1/2 lb burger with an egg, cheese of your choice and bacon. I was kinda hoping for hollandaise sauce but perhaps I should have asked for that specifically? Next time! It was a good burger with a properly cooked runny egg over medium. It lasted two meals! Surprisingly, the fries ordered extra crispy were also pretty good, staying crunchy until we got home. I walked in for breakfast ahead of another couple. While we were waiting, the lady from the couple behind me decided to make her way to the restroom. Once we were noticed by a waitress, she spoke to the gentleman saying, "come in and sit anywhere you'd like." The man responded by saying, "she was here first". So I said to the right dress I'm just a party of one. She shook her head as if she didn't understand what I was saying. So, I made my way to a seat. When she came through and started serving the tables I noticed she went to the other couples table 1st before waiting on me. So I commented to her, "so, you do realize that I was here before the other couple?". She responded and said no I didn't realize that because I thought you were together. So I said to her, "no, we're not together, and I understand why you might think that because his wife went to the restroom." She responded by saying, "Oh, well I'm sorry I hurt your feelings." So I let her know she didn't hurt my feelings that I just wanted to clarify the situation because in a service business, I think that service matters. I assured her again that she didn't hurt my feelings. I was just trying to make her understand what happened. She then proceeded to seek out another waitress and discuss it openly in front of the entire restaurant. So, when the bill was presented, I left her a $0.25 tip on a $15 bill with a note saying that I would never stiff a waitress because I used to waitress myself. However, I always tip based on the level of service I receive. The other waitress noticed me writing a note and came over and asked if I would like to discuss what happened. I said sure, I would love for you to understand my perspective since she felt the need to go discuss this in front of the entire restaurant. I relayed the entire story again stating again that I understood why she misunderstood that I was not with the gentleman behind me. The waitress began to argue with me about why the waitress was correct and I was incorrect and so I finally said, "OK sweetheart, you win!" Because it became clear that I was not going to make her understand what I was saying. So while I thought the food was OK for a greasy spoon... I certainly wouldn't return after being treated the way I was. That is, unless somebody from the restaurant would like to reach out to me and apologize for their staff being so rude. I strongly recommend some additional customer service training for both waitresses. (This happened on Tuesday, October 2, 2024). To clarify my one star review... I would give them three stars on the food and one star for Service averaging to a 1.5 stars. read more

I had the country Benedict, minus the hollandaise sauce substituted sausage gravy instead. The home fries were absolutely terrific, as was The accompanying dish of fruit. My wife had two eggs over easy, link sausage, home fries and French toast. She said everything was very tasty. Service was OK, although we were never asked if we wanted refills for our coffee, which I thought is breaking a cardinal rule during breakfast! My favorite breakfast place (perhaps I should say my favorite restaurant since I go here more than any other restaurant) in Clearwater and the surrounding areas. I have been going to Benedict's for over 2 years now, and although the other locations are very good, this particular location is a cut above the rest. While part of this is due to the smaller, more "cozy" family feel... The main draw for this location is the waitstaff. Literally all the servers are friendly, pleasant, professional, and adept at their jobs. How a restaurant is able to retain such great staff during a time when almost all restaurants are understaffed is beyond me, but I am so glad they do. The food is fantastic of course. Country fried steak is fork-tender and the sausage gravy just as savory as can be. Their benedicts are on point (as would be expected), and the fried chicken benedict is a particular standout - just make sure you brought your appetite! They also have THE best quiches (locally made - not some frozen food vendor nonsense), paired with your choice of a delectable warm home-made bread (think more "cranberry orange bread" as opposed to "wheat," although their toast is also delish). The standards - your eggs, bacon, sausage, omelettes, etc - are all excellently prepared. And if you ever do get something not to your satisfaction (a rare event for sure), they are more than happy to make it right. It's one of those places where I almost don't want to share it because I just want to keep the secret to myself! It's that good. So swing by and grab a bite to eat. As I was leaving I realized they make their own flavored breads! That alone could be a breakfast! So disappointing! I was looking forward to a wonderful eggs Benedict breakfast. What I received was far from it. The egg was FULLY cooked through (no soft yolk at all). The muffin seemed not to have been toasted at all and the Canadian bacon was tough and dry. There was minimal Hollandaise sauce (which had a very sour taste). The whole thing was very dry. The potatoes on the other hand were very good and the fruit dish was good. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict also and his came out the same as mine - overcooked egg, dry bacon and untoasted muffin. We would have sent both meals back except we were with out-of-town guests and didn't want to cause a scene. I wish I'd taken photos! read more

Found another breakfast/lunch gem in Benedict's. This restaurant has a nice mix of booths and tables, and appears neat and clean. Service was outstanding and fast even though it was high-noon. Menu is probably a bit more varied for breakfast items than I'm used to seeing, a good thing. Since I haven't seen skillet dishes on a menu is a while, I ordered the Country skillet, basically a nice mix of typical western-omelet type fixings, plus hash browns mixed with some gravy and sausage bits covered by your choice of eggs (I chose scrambled). This dish was fantastic! The consistency was great, easily eaten with a fork. My wife had the chicken club sandwich, and it was excellent, and large enough that she could not finish it. The restaurant is located in the northwest corner of the intersection of Coachman and N. Belcher in Clearwater. It's located where Villa Maria Pizza and Azara's Italian Restaurant used to be. The interior was clean and tidy. I was quickly greeted and seat. I ordered coffee while I looked over the breakfast menu. The coffee was good and strong. I was hungry so I ordered the Country Fried Steak. (see pic) It came with two eggs ( I ordered mine over medium) home fries and toast. The Country Fried Steak wasn't crispy or meaty. My guess is that it was microwaved. The gravy was OK and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The home fries were at room temperature. I got their whole wheat toast and it was rustic and nicely different than other diners'. Bottom line: I would definitely return for some eggs or other menu offerings. I cannot recommend the Country Fried Steak. The wait staff was super friendly. The morning that I was there, the place was packed. read more

Everything was so good and perfectly seasoned, everyone loved what they ordered. Last but not least they have a great cup of coffee.
