I'll start by saying that I didn't actually eat here. I made a reservation at 4 PM for 7 PM and received an email that read: "The restaurant will be in touch soon if there are any problems with your reservation request." The online booking was simple enough, so we headed to the restaurant for 7 PM. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said yes, for 7 PM, and were seated. As we were reviewing the menu, a man came out (we found out later that he was the owner) and asked again whether we had a reservation. We said yes, and then he asked when we made it. We said we had made it online several hours beforehand. His response: "Did anyone from the restaurant call to confirm your reservation?" I responded that no, no one had. Then he said we had booked too last minute and our reservation wasn't valid. And, loud enough for literally everyone in the restaurant to hear, he said, "We're going to struggle again tonight, but that's fine." It was really quite rude how he stated it, and people around us looked very uncomfortable. Mind you we had just sat down, I was with my elderly grandmother, and he made us feel very, very unwelcome.
We decided to leave because there was no way we'd be able to enjoy our meal feeling like we were burdening their staff. After leaving, my husband went back in to speak with one of the waiters (the owner was in the back) to let him know he felt the situation was handled poorly. The waiter asked to read the email we received after making the reservation (which is quoted at the start of this review) and, after reading it off my phone, he said that you must book a day in advance because no one reviews online reservation submissions until the next day. He also added that the website clearly needed to be updated. He was nice, but the owner... well, let's just say that after our interaction with him we won't be back. Apparently he owns this and all other locations. I hope he treats other customers better than he treated us. read more
