We were on the hunt for a leather belt and this place came up as an option. The best part about it is undoubtedly the vibe-it's just a really cool place. Vibrant colors, hip crowd, super friendly workers. Ben's story and the name of the store is super interesting and obviously inspired. We ended up getting a belt made which turned out nicely (picked out our own clasp, also) and was done pretty timely. There were a lot of other very appealing items (shoes, jackets), as well. Benheart Firenze - Via Calzaiuoli has the absolute BEST customer service in FLORENCE. No I think in ITALY. Okay maybe all of EUROPE!! Really! To be greeted with such warm, friendly and inviting smiles as we were by the staff today of the two sweetest young women, Elisa & Lolita. This is such a rare occurrence nowadays all across the world. Trust me, I know. My husband and I are retired and full-time world travelers in our 5th year now. We are from Ventura California USA. The point being, we are all over this planet and know when we feel we are being treated with genuine kindness and compassion. Yes, we were treated this way today (26.10.2022) twice - at BENHEART Firenze on Via Calzaiuoli! BENHEART is like finding a shiny bright diamond among a huge pile of ugly rocks in Florence - or in other words an amazing artisan store with real handmade leather items right here in Italy, where there seems to be an overwhelming amount of leather goods of the type of quality you don't want to write 5 star reviews about. BENHEART handcrafts all there goods, including custom orders! Tell them what you want, they can make it! We came back twice today as I was trying to make a decision. Elisa & Lolita were still in the store in the early evening as was Vito. Again, BENHEART has another gem right here with Vito! The ladies were not alone in their wonderful customer service. Vito was up there in that top tier of offering great customer service and making my husband and I feel like long time customers - and old friends. We had a great time visiting with him. I ended up not buying today as I was indecisive about which jacket I wanted. I was set on the CHADY Limited in a gorgeous royal blue color, the softest leather you could ever want to feel, let alone wear! The styling was so fun with an edgy offset diagonal zipper and cuffs. But I started thinking of a custom color jacket and Vito offered some thoughts to go with my ideas. In the end, though I did not purchase today after these two visits and another visit three weeks ago, I feel I will in the future. But that doesn't at all discount what I wanted to point out here in this review. And the number one reason I would return. AMAZING customer service along with INCREDIBLY beautiful and quality goods. Great customer service while in the Florence store. I purchased 3 pairs of leather shoes with the zipper on the sides. One pair constantly come apart at the bottom when zipped up. While recently visiting Firenze, I stumbled upon Benheart. The store literally stopped me in my tracks--all their offerings were stunning! Art pieces, really. Super quality and just gorgeous leather goods. I bought 2 pairs of beautiful shoes and could not wait to put them on my feet. The staff here is incredible. I don't bother writing reviews unless I have an exceptional experience, both good or bad. This is the former. While on a trip to Rome (which happened to fall on me and my wife's 18th anniversary) we took a day trip to Florence. Knowing that Florence is notorious for its leather goods, I did some googling the night before to see if I could find a few stores that weren't hawking the usual crap sold at every single street market on every corner. I happened on a great article about Benheart that left me with a strong desire to check it out. We found the shop easily enough, and as soon as I walked in I knew it was a special place. The decor, layout, smell, and overall feel told me I would be walking away with something cool. Now, unlike every other shop we visited while in Italy, we had a very friendly staff member approach us and in a very un-forced way and who started chatting us up. He encouraged us to look around and as we were trying jackets on, he would give us bits of info about the company and products. I rarely need convincing once I find something I like, but he did a great job telling my often-uncertain wife how certain jackets worked well with her build and overall made her feel comfortable about making a purchase that was outside her comfort zone. Ultimately he offered us a good discount for buying two jackets, and also advised us about the VAT refund we could get at the airport (a painless experience BTW). As we were checking out, another employee from the other shop across town told us that if we followed him back to the other (larger) shop, he would stamp our initials on the jackets. That sounded like a cherry on top of an already great experience, so we headed over. Once there, and they started stamping my jacket, my wife spotted another jacket that she liked a little more than the original one she had bought. The guys were totally supportive and swapped it out no problem. They stamped hers next and sent us out of there feeling like rock stars. I can honestly say this is one of my top 5 favorite shopping experiences ever. Just wonderful from start to finish. The jackets themselves are absolutely beautiful and feel more like wearing a perfect fitting shirt than a big bulky jacket. We both wore them for the whole next day walking around Rome and despite weather that flipped between rain and sun, we never once took them off and even wore them to a fairly fancy dinner function later that night. We got compliments galore from other people all day long. So yeah...if you want to purchase an original, authentic, handcrafted leather product from people that take pride in what they're selling, make Benheart a priority if you're in Florence or Rome. I had some issues with the tax-free company Banheart uses for duty free purchases. After Ben hearing from his manager at the Venice Benheart store about my situation, Ben himself contact me in Miami Florida by phone and spoke with me and within two days my issue was resolve by Ben Heart himself. When you walk in there's a few racks of shoes and jackets to see, and when you speak to an attendant they bring out a variety of options based on what you're looking for. They're very attentive and kind and assist you in trying on various styles until you find what you like; if you don't see exactly what you want, they can also make jackets specifically for you in the color/style you want with fast turnaround (although that does add to the cost). As icing on the cake, they'll also emboss your initials onto your jacket for no extra charge! read more

I have purchased handmade shoes before and did not have a problem with toe shapes or colour being slightly different on the same pair. In addition to the toe and colour being off, they also had splotches and scratches, details that shouldn't be ignored just because these are "handmade." Poor quality control in that aspect. On a positive note, the belts were very nice and worth the price. I would not buy shoes from this brand again though. read more

I don't usually write Yelp reviews, but felt compelled to do so after an amazing experience in both the Florence store with Marco, and the Siena store (with a different Marco - though it turns out they're friends with each other). I'd been reading reviews of "real" Italian leather stores, and was attracted to Benheart because of its upstart and modern reputation. I walked in prepared to feel how I do in all high-end stores: as if I were imposing on the staff, ignored, and lost to my own devices. This was decidedly not my experience at Benheart. I have a hard body to fit - I'm tall, curvy and while generally in good shape, the pandemic has added a few pounds over the past 18 months. I'm attracted to unisex and genderfluid clothing, and after wandering the store looking at styles, found a gorgeous lambskin jacket that was exactly what I imagined in my mind... Except it was completely a men's cut, and therefore couldn't fit my waist. Marco had been helping me with sizing, and after it was clear nothing in the style would fit, I was prepared to let it go. Instead, he offered not only to facilitate a custom measurement and styling for me, but made sure it could be delivered to where our family was staying in Tuscany. He was methodical, friendly, kind, and most of all, open and warm throughout the entire time in the store. The jacket arrived today, it fits perfectly, and I've never had a finer piece of leather clothing. Kudos to Marco for the amazing experience, and gratitude to Ben for shaking up the Italian leather scene with his designs, stores, and customer service ethos. Just to put a cherry on top of this entire experience, I also wandered into the smaller store in Siena, and met the other Marco who works there. I happened to find a beautiful belt and buckle, which he assembled for me on site, together. It was clear from how he worked that he was passionate about leather, and added a few details in stitching that made the piece visually stronger and tied it together. Great products but make sure you don't have any issues with the size or you will have problems exchanging. I visited the location on Via Della Vigna and the manager made a beautiful belt for my fiance and I also bought some shoes in a size 9. I asked if there was any problems with these if I could exchange them for another size and he said there would be no problem. He also mentioned they are opening a Beverly Hills location and I would be able to exchange there once it opened in November. That gave me some relief. Well when I messaged them on Instagram I was told the U.S. store does not have an E.T.A. and that it is not their problem that I picked the wrong size and that I have to pay for shipping both ways which would be about $160 which is the cost of the shoes, so now I am stuck with shoes that can't be exchanged or returned. It is really a bummer. He really liked them and we also wanted to get another belt made but with this type of customer service, I don't think I am going to chance it. Words of Caution. Make sure you get the exact right size and if you are not sure, don't buy if you are not sure and don't live in Italy. read more

Fabulous service and gorgeous leather goods! Visited Florence store at the end of April and the staff could not have been more patient and helpful. (I'm horrible with names :(- but the gentleman might have been part owner?) He was the kindest, most helpful salesperson ever! I didn't purchase anything the first time in the store, but asked if they would hold the boots I was interested in for two days. We left and never felt pressured to buy anything, even after we spent almost an hour in the store. When we asked about ordering online, they were kind and wrote all the information we'd need. When I returned two days later, I couldn't have been more impressed. Lara remembered my name, which was a very pleasant surprise for a busy city store. They had actually put the boots on hold for me.
