Pizza is one of the few things I am an expert in. I will go head-to-toe with anyone on planet Earth. I have had more slices than there is sand on a beach. True; OK thousands...lol. Pizza is based on the principles of bread, sauce, cheese, and toppings. Benny Diforza your pizza needs some work. Let me say first; that bigger is not always best. On my visit, I had a slice of sausage. At best it was OK. When I received my slice the sausage was this pale-looking thin piece of meat. No flavor. Crust mush. A crime has been committed. It had no cheese taste. The crime continues. Benny; this was an ugly slice. I felt the ratio of cheese to bread and sauce; was tasteless. The point was so soft it folded down. I had to tear off to eat. I don't eat pizza that way. I mentioned the huge size of the slice before. Question: how do you place this slice in your toaster oven to heat on takeout? Bigger is not good in this case. Overall, I will be back. I want to give them a second chance because the Service was outstanding. Every single person that walked in was GREETED by the staff. I was there for an hour and before the door shut as a customer walked in; I heard "Hello welcome"; "Thank you for coming ". This was awesome. I was impressed by this. They had a decent selection of canned craft beers. About a dozen styles. Something for everyone? Maybe? Lots of seating. Elevator music has to go. Next visit I will ask for a well-done slice...to be continued...

Benny Diforza is known for their big slices of pizza. My love for pizza runs deep so I had to give this place a try. The pizza slices range from your typical cheese to a Philly cheesesteak. I went with the sausage and cheese slice. I went after work so there was no lunch crowd. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. My slice did not take long at all to come out. The pizza was hot, not overly saucy but still tasty. While I was there, another customer ordered a whole pie. It was interesting to see the customer get through the door with the giant pizza box! I would return it's not my usual pizza preference but it satisfied my pizza craving.

Excellent spot for a quick slice or taking home a gargantuan 48' pie. Make sure to call in advance or go when they aren't busy because wait times tend to go up.

Solid NYC style pizza. They are doing all the basics nicely. I like that it's not a grease bomb like Wise Guys. The sauce tastes very nostalgic and overall I'd go back again. The novelty is it's a huge pizza, but it's also pretty good.

I've passed this place on numerous occasions and decided to stop by after their "social media" campaign with Tik Tok. .. The Pizza slices did not disappoint.. the restaurant was very clean and staff were very friendly I will be back

Tried a slice from Benny for the first time; walked in and they had some cheese pizzas, and then what you order they can add the toppings before it goes into the oven. A slice is about $7-9 depending on what you get, and one slice is plenty. The slices are huge and delicious. Inside there are some cool old casino games which is a neat decoration. Also it's open late which is a plus. I'll be back!

DEL RAY, ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Look, is this a culinary revelation of amazeballs-ness? No. But it's a good thin-crust slice, it's a yuuuuge slice, it's $6 to $7.50 for a slice as big as a nice small pizza, the place is clean and fast. For what it is, this is a five-star 'that big slice hit the spot' experience.

the service was incredible! the owner was extremely hospitable, and Ben (an employee) is the highlight of this franchise store. i can't speak highly enough of this location. the pizza was phenomenal and everything is made fresh to order. the slices are worth their price compared to any other pizza franchise. will be back soon guaranteed

This was their cheese pizza slice and man was it good. Hot, not too much bread perfect amount of sauce. During restaurant week it came with another slice, 2 bags of chips, 2 sodas and 2 ice cream sandwiches. All of it was soooo good. Def going back for those ice cream sandwiches too. The artwork was pretty cool on the walls. The service was also pretty fast as well went mid afternoon.

Hand for reference. Got the 28 inch pizza - this thing is ginormous!!! Wish the slices were cut a little bit more evenly. Not superb pizza but for the price and value and comically large slices, worth it.

If you know Bennys from Blacksburg you won't be disappointed with the Bennys in Del Ray. Some of the best pizza around.

(I was a little confused with the name and how it linked to Pizza, but read the reviews and everyone raved about the pizza.) So glad I made a reservation! Beautiful spot- loved the ambience, great vibe - very lively. Here's what we ordered : Spinach artichoke dip - 9 out of 10 Wings - 10 out of 10 Caesar salad- 8 out of 10 Margherita Pizza - 10 out of 10 Meatball Pizza - 9 out of 10 Chicken parmesan and spaghetti - 8 out of 10 Penne vodka pasta- 9 out of 10 Definitely will be back, HIGHLY RECOMMEND - 10 out of 10 for me. Immaculate. Energy and vibes? Outstanding. Attention to details? Superb. We were there as a family celebrating my daughter's birthday. We felt like we were in DC, enjoying a night on the town. Logistics. Parking seems like it can be a bit tight. There is valet and self parking with a smaller garage underground. You walk a few steps to the restaurant and take the elevator up to the loft. Ample seating/ table options throughout. It seems like no decorative detail was left out in planning and creating our own Havana in Del Ray. Drinks. Our party had a glass of rose, pineapple mojito, and the honey badger. All were refreshing and delicious. Food. There is an Italian menu and the Cuban menu. We all opted for the Cuban options. We ordered the ropa vieja( stewed beef with rice and plantains) Presentation was great but was a bit salt heavy. The rice helped counter it, which was good. Birria tacos. 10 out of 10. Portion, delivery and taste were excellent. They are served with a side of guac and pico. I would go back there all the time for those alone. Cuban sandwich. This was a bit on the salty side too but the fries that they served with it were incredible. Thick cut, fried to perfection with sprinkling of salt. They saved the dish for me. Lastly we had the mojo roasted chicken. Excellent portion, chicken was succulent and delicious. Served with rice and beans which complemented perfectly. We ended the night with a surprise of complementary cannolis for the birthday girl. All and all a wonderful evening. We will be back for sure.

There's also a second floor which is used as their event space. It was a bit quiet during lunch time on this day which worked out as my small group had plenty of choices for seating. Service was excellent our waiter was very attentive and our food items came out in an expedited manner. Their menu features apps like cast iron meatballs, garlic knots, and eggplant parm, several different salad options, 6 different sub options, and of course a plethora of red and white sauce pizza options (by the slice or whole pies) with plenty of add-ons regarding toppings and glazes. The wine menu is also pretty expansive with some very nice selections. I ended up ordering the chicken caesar sub ($18) and the vanilla bean brûlée cheesecake ($9). The chicken sub was delicious the flavor of the bread and the Caesar dressing that came with it were the highlights, fresh toppings, my only complaint would have been a bit more chicken added to the sandwich. The cheesecake was exceptional as well despite being a bit heavy on the cream topping but that was probably more for presentation purposes. Overall a positive lunch experience, I'll definitely be returning to try out a few of their pizza options.

It's cooked in a coal-fired oven so that it's charred and chewy. Pepe sold his classic apizza off a special headdress with pies stacked on his head. He was able to takeover a bakery and started Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana in 1925. Colorful story, but how was the pizza, you ask? Using Frank's original recipe, the dough is like a thin, crispy ciabatta, they use high quality ingredients and cook in their custom brick ovens. We ordered a three pizza sampler which was way too much for us, but it gave us a taste of New Haven Apizza. It was crispy yet chewy. We really liked it (although deep dish remains my favorite)! I'll come back for ah-beets when I'm in Alexandria.

The slices are thin, the crust is crunchy, for the most part, which is a solid start, and the ingredients are fine. With pizza, you really can't order too many ingredients, because you take away from the overall taste of the pizza and we did that this time, so we'd have to come back for another taste and do 2 ingredients max, based on the type of slice it is. Overall, I think it depends on the style of pizza that you like, depending on the style of pizza you'll either love or not this place.
