Then there are places that you go to of a night out for some scran because you just bloody love the place. Harun's is one such place. Despite recently painting the shop a rancid orange colour, Harun's remains the best takeaway in Southport for you to greedily stuff your mouth with greasy goodness in the early hours of the morning. The food there is well made and delicious albeit not particularly cheap (damn you Southport) and the staff there are friendly and will happily talk with you for hours about good Turkish footballers (believe me; it happens every week when we go). They also have a punching machine in there (perhaps to curb the violent enthusiasm of the Southport residents) which causes much hilarity at three in the morning when my mates decide to show each other who can hit something the hardest. The only thing i would say is it would be great if they would do free delivery if you order over a certain ammount but there it a standered delivery charge no matter what you order but its worth it for the great prices and great food.. also every now and then i get a free fortune cookie.. It is a Monday ritual for me and my colleagues to sit down and get this ordered every week. We have even started to go down through the menu until we have all tried everything (still a long way to go though). What I like about Yum Yums is that the main meals are split into 2 categories. You choose a 'Yummy' which is basically the bulk of your main, i.e. beef, chicken duck etc. Then a 'Yum' which is like the sauce, topped of with either a portion of boiled/fried rice, Chips, or Half/Half (half chips half rice). I soon found out the reason the chicken fried rice was so expensive as the portion size was massive to say the least, I would recommend going here if you have a family or about 2-3 people to feed. But in general it's a nice take out option for Chinese food and it for sure beats any Chinese take out in the north west.
