Little to nothing priced in the coolers, a violation of the Michigan Item Pricing law (now reported). Upon pointing this out to the owner's son, he threw me out of the store and threatened to "burn" me with the police, following me out of the store in a menacing manner and screaming at me. Avoid this toxic establishment. Sad, because the retired cop and his wife who built out the store years ago were really great people and this used to be a nice community market. 1/21; In response to the owner's fabricated "response" on Google, I'm posting this update: Thought I'd clarify the situation: I walked into the store and noticed few items in the coolers priced, grabbed two beers for later (unpriced), and looked for something else to drink. I could not see any price tags on the non-alchoholic drinks, and I asked the owner how much everything in the coolers was. His response was if you need a price, ask. I mentioned that this is a real hassle for consumers and exhausting, so consumers would really appreciate if they could price the shelves (the "shelf tag" pricing that we see in most places that tells you how much various groups of items are), which is required by Michigan's Item Pricing Law. Upon arriving at the register, the owner rang up the beers at a price that was $.50 higher than anyone else in the area, a direct result of the lack of pricing information at the cooler that I might have chosen to purchase somewhere else. I complained to the owner that this was the same price I could have paid in Detroit, and that's when he came totally unglued: "Here's your $10 bill, get the f**k out of my store". When I then mentioned I was going to call the Department of Agriculture and make an item pricing complaint, he became incensed and screamed "I'll dial the number for you", at which point I decided it might be a good time to get out of there. The unhinged owner then proceeded to follow me out to my car in the parking lot screaming about various grievances like my hair (?!), and threatened me with calling the police to "burn" me (?!), at which point I yelled back some obscenities about him being a (rhymes with "clucking mass bowl"). At no point were there any threats or threatening language used by me. The quote from the owner: "your numerous violent threats aimed toward our employee jeopardized our safety here", is both predictable and a bald faced lie. Immediately after leaving the parking lot, I subsequently took the unusual step of calling the Oakland County Sheriff's Substation locally to make a report with the desk deputy because of this individual's threatening behavior. This individual, who due to his age and entitled attitude I assume was the owner's son, exhibited aggressive, threatening behavior because he was enraged that a customer was making a reasonable request to follow the law and post prices for the items that they sell. The owners of the business are rude and nasty. They have a Facebook page and my boyfriend and I were 'friends' with them on Facebook. There is a beer called KBS that comes out once a year in limited quantities. So, my boyfriend commented on a post they had made inquiring about the beer - asking if they had any yet or when they would get it. Well, they said they didn't and blah, blah, blah which is fine. So, my boyfriend researched when it would be distributed out and seen it was coming out March 13 (somewhere around there). Well, a personal friend of "Fadys" made a comment to my boyfriend saying "it's all about who you know" meaning that he could get it early if you knew the right people. My boyfriend replied back to this friend, whose name is Ricky, with an article saying when the beer was coming out. 'Fadys Benstein Liquor' then commented saying "LOL Todd (my boyfriend) must take things to heart". So, he mocked my boyfriend when my boyfriend was staying a fact and just backed up his buddy. Instead of stating a fact or giving some helpful information he thought he would be funny with his personal buddy on a business page!!!! I wrote other reviews on other sites to which "Fady" laughed at me and insulted other customers complaints (but he went back and changed his comments when a friend of mine gave them a bad review, as well). Also, all of the 5 star reviews they have on Google are their personal friends you can look on their Facebook page to verify that. These people are so nasty and conniving. To mock two customers on social media and then do whatever you can to make them look dumb is SO WRONG!!!! I have never in my life hated a business as much as this one. They weren't even apologetic about anything they did or said. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR FRIENDS!!!! read more

Visited Benstein Liquor (used to be the Bills Benstein market) today and I have to admit, I was a shocked, a place that is brought back to life. Liquor shelf extension, "beer cave", craft Michigan beer, very friendly people. And what I noticed most; CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! Two gentleman working together, a younger man introduced himself as Faddi, very helpful and friendly, making me feel at home, and also not pushy, compared to all the other liquor store clerks around the area. Just moved into Twin Sun about a year ago, and now I have found a new favorite Liquor store for all my party needs :) read more

Friday's are usually the busiest time for businesses like this, I went to Benstein Liquor and saw about 4 people in line, one gentleman working there came up to assist me even though there were people waiting to make sure I was being helped. Another point I would like to make are the prices and the convenience, they did not have 12 packs of Mikes Hard Lime, they gave me 2 six packs for a 12 pack price!!! I really enjoyed my time and promised myself to write a review for these guys. Good job guys, keep on going and be the BEST liquor store in the area. read more

Walked into Benstein Liquor for the first time. WOW, too all of the different bottles they have. From high end, to low end products. NEVER KNEW YOU COULD BUY KIRKLAND PRODUCTS OUTSIDE OF COSTCO! Faty was very knowledgeable about all products and taught me how to make a moscow mule. Spent over $281 and he also walked my stuff out to my truck, CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more
