I have to admit to being pretty stunned to see that no-one has yet written a review or even added Bent Creek as a business. So allow me to be the first!
I was invited here as a part of the Sea and Vines festival last weekend. They held a charity luncheon on behalf of the Leukemia Foundation - and boy do they know how to put on a function!
But this review will be about the winery itself, and not the function. Although if you have the opportunity to attend a function here - do not hesitate!
Situated on Blewitt Springs Road along with a few other wineries, Bent Creek was only established 15 years ago but has already built up a reputation for making some very fine wines indeed. In fact, James Halliday's best selling and definitive guide to Australia - the "Halliday Wine Companion" - awarded Bent Creek Vineyards "Top Ten Best New Wineries 2016". A feat worthy of a mention!
Their own small but interesting range of wines include the delicious 'Black Dog Shiraz', a '2014 Sauvignon Blanc', a Moscato Gioia for the sweeter taste and a superb 'Nero Sparkling Shiraz'. They also carry a few more ranges including Bos Provincia, Misty Lane and some fine limited releases.
The winery itself isn't spectacular, the cellar door isn't quaint or memorable, but the wines are excellent and Bent Creek is most definitely worth a visit the next time you venture out to McLaren Vale or Flat to taste some of South Australia's best! read more
