In this hotel the swimming pool is smaller than in Alpenpark, but it is indoors and indeed big enough for relaxed swimming. The bar is huge, and I suppose that in winter this must be a very cosy place to be. Just 1 complaint about the room: the shower was too narrow/small. It feels a little claustrophobic. Every diner and breakfast has something for everyone, and between 1 and 4 pm there's a buffet in the bar for the guests. All in all, I think I can safely recommend this "family-hotel-chain" without risking to disappoint anybody. We had a very good time.

Hiking trails and a chair lift which takes you to the top of one of the peaks are a stone's throw away. The personnel at the hotel are very nice and extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet is typically Austrian with a lovely mix of breads, spreads, cold cuts, yoghurts, fruit and a few warm dishes like scrambled eggs and bacon - the perfect way to start the day. The dinners are also very yummy and you choose your meal from 3 menu choices all of which always looked very enticing (from chicken to beef to fish to vegetarian) with yummy appetizers and deserts. The Junior Suites all have balconies with unbelievable views of the Alps. A great place to have a glass of wine before or after dinner. They even have a kitchenette with a fridge - perfect for snacks and drinks. The pool an wellness area are also extremely lovely. From the pool chairs you even have a view of the alps. It is definitely a great hotel in which I will most certainly stay again!

FRAUD. NO HUMANITY…read more We arrived to this hotel late, very last minute. We decided to book hotel Maximilian because the pictures we saw on Expedia were really nice. The price was very expensive for a 3 stars hotel (over 500€ ) , but according to the pictures, we decided to go there as it was one of the few hotels left available after 10 pm. When we arrived to the reception, very exhausted after driving from Germany and some issues we had on that day, the owner received us saying that we were lucky that she was receiving us this late (11.30 pm- 12 pm), because it was a family business. (if you don't want to receive guests after 10 pm, just close the availability on the internet, as most of the hotels do, but don't use this card against us and say that you had to wait for us until we arrived: it's your business, you are supposed to do that if you want money, so If you do, don't complain!) After she complained, she was nice and showed us some places we could visit on the next day. When we arrived to the rooms, we couldn't believe it: they had nothing to do with the pictures we had seen on Expedia. NOTHING TO DO. They were really basic and poor for the price we were paying, and most of all, it was a fraud because they were different from the pictures we saw on the web. The furniture was old and some of them in bad conditions. There were stains on the carpet, sheets, and roof. Also the room was full of flies and insects, alive, and we also found a huge dead botlfie on the floor. (we have pictures of all of this). We didn't sleep well and on the next morning, we went to the reception and asked for a cancelation of the second night we had booked. We said that we wanted to leave also because on the next day we had to catch a flight in the evening in Frankfurt, so as the hotel was not good and really expensive for it's poor quality and conservation of the hotel, we thought we rathered leave this area and drive to Frankfurt so we could be close to the airport on that day. We kindly asked this, we didn't wanted to be rude and explicit about the poor quality of the rooms. But after we were nice and asked this in a good way, the owner that had received us on the previous night, got really angry and rude, and denied to cancel us the second night under no circumstances, (we told her about our need of going back to Frankfurt and she said this was our problem, not her's. Also we told her that we didn't like the rooms for the price and that they were not as we expected according to the pictures on the internet: she also said this was our problem that we had booked two nights at the hotel and we had to stay or to leave paying the rooms anyway, that she had waited for us that previous night, -maybe for 1 h maximum?- Again, if you are going to complain about this, just don't open the hotel for reservations at this time. ) After how the owner managed the situation, showing not care about our needs or opinions, just caring about receiving all the money, (she was lucky to have us there for even the first night, as we decided to go there very last minute because we were in need for a room, this wasn't planned on our trip at all. What we mean by this: 10 hours earlier to our request to canceling the room for the second night, she didn't count on the money that she was going to receive from us: almost 600€ for two night at a 3 stars hotel) . She just cared about the money, she showed to have a really bad customer care, we believe this is important to run a business. If your customer is not happy, you cannot obligate him to stay and pay. Also after you are lying about the amenities and quality of the rooms on the internet, and charging a huge amount of money for it) We would rate this place with a 0. It was a very sad experience and we were disappointed by seeing how people can be so materialistic and fake, she tried to be nice with us on the day we were leaving, when she knew she had been unfair and that we had to stay there only to not loosing our money and being very unsatisfied. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE; because FIRST THING YOU NEED TO CARE IS ABOUT BEING NICE AND HAVING HUMANITY with clients and people in general. By treating clients like this, eventually you will lose all respect from the clients. We don't have anything else to say. Just a really bad experience on our trip and very poor humanity and customer care, from the owner. We hope one day they don't care only about getting a lot of money, but also caring about the needs and complains from their clients and that they make make sure their clients are happy with their service.

My wife, 4 kids, mom, and I stayed here on Monday-Thursday of Easter week. We rented room 3 and 4,…read moreboth 2 bedrooms with a kitchenette. This place was perfect for us. The location was ideal for visiting Füssen, Neuschwanstein, and anywhere else in the area. It was a quick 2 minute drive to Hohenschwangau in one direction and 3 minutes to Füssen in the other. It was about 40 minutes to Zugspitze and about an hour to Garmisch. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They spoke english, so I was able to check in and check out easily. As for the rooms; the bathroom in room 3 was very spacious, the one in room 4 was a little smaller but still good. The kitchens in both rooms were great, could have used a few more glasses, but that is nit-picking. There was a small fridge and dishwasher in both. The beds were comfortable. Most importantly, the entire place was clean and well maintained. I cannot recommend the Haus Alpenrose high enough. Hands down one of the best vacation rentals that I have stayed in. Very reasonably priced for what we got. The location is absolutely perfect and I will definitely be staying here again. You can literally see Neuschwanstein from the parking lot!

The stay came with a tasty breakfast every morning- typical stuff like cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, cheese, bread, coffee and juice. We also ate at their restaurant in the evenings, as its one of the few places to eat in town really. Very traditional German/Austrian fare- heavy foods, but still good. My only complaint would be that we had a problems with bees getting into the room (no screens on the windows).
