I decided to pursue legal action and was referred to Terry Garmey & Associates by my brother-in-law, a lawyer in my home state. Overall the experience was fine - their staff was pleasant and professional. They went over all the details with me and we discussed the likely outcome of the case. They advised me throughout the process and we worked together to assemble the required records and paperwork. After the paperwork was in though, things became a bit more sticky. I basically just stopped hearing from them for huge spans of time. They would tell me to expect a response within 2-3 or 4-6 weeks, only for 5, 6, 7, or even 8 months to go by without word. This happened on several occasions - I had to contact them proactively for every update on my case until the very end. I understand that since my case was smaller, it was probably not at all a priority for their office. That's fine, but I wish there had been better communication and at least some follow up or acknowledgement that projected deadlines had been missed. Ultimately, they got me what I considered to be a fair settlement so I don't want to be overly negative, but I do feel that the whole process should likely have taken months at most, not years.
