I am very pleased with the staff and the attention to detail. I was turned down by another law firm…read morebecause my injuries where not substantial. Garmey won my case with a substantial settlement.

I was in a car accident a few years back while on vacation in Maine (a careless driver ran me off…read morethe road). It could have been a lot worse, but I did suffer a minor neck injury. I decided to pursue legal action and was referred to Terry Garmey & Associates by my brother-in-law, a lawyer in my home state. Overall the experience was fine - their staff was pleasant and professional. They went over all the details with me and we discussed the likely outcome of the case. They advised me throughout the process and we worked together to assemble the required records and paperwork. After the paperwork was in though, things became a bit more sticky. I basically just stopped hearing from them for huge spans of time. They would tell me to expect a response within 2-3 or 4-6 weeks, only for 5, 6, 7, or even 8 months to go by without word. This happened on several occasions - I had to contact them proactively for every update on my case until the very end. I understand that since my case was smaller, it was probably not at all a priority for their office. That's fine, but I wish there had been better communication and at least some follow up or acknowledgement that projected deadlines had been missed. Ultimately, they got me what I considered to be a fair settlement so I don't want to be overly negative, but I do feel that the whole process should likely have taken months at most, not years.

I'd have to say that the first review on this page about attorney Waxman is 100% accurate. Talks…read moreover you, knows everything, thinks you're hiding something and basically makes you feel like your issue is not important. I've had several attorneys tell me that my previous attorney was guilty of malpractice and my new council even went as far as making out a notice of claim against my previous attorney but when he had unforeseen medical issues with his father and couldn't take my case I had to look elsewhere... My mother found Mr. Waxman desperately trying to find someone to take over the case... I had my new attorney send Mr. Waxman a letter that wasn't cheap for her to draft just for him to tell me it has no merit... What really upset me was when he told me that a judge decided that it was in the best interest of the child that i not be with my son as much I was blown away... this man is sick in the head. After 2 years of 50% custody with no legal issues or even a threateaning text on my behalf to my ex. Attorney Grimes failed to respond to a motion to vacate over a year and a half after the divorce was put on record and then he failed to appeal in time after taking an extra $800 from us. You're severely mistaken Mr. Waxman and you can go to hell with Kevin Grimes mounted up behind you. ***Below is an exerp from an email my new family law attorney sent after telling her about my interaction with Mr. Waxman " Hi Steve, I'm so sorry that he treated you like that. I actually had asked my assistant to reach out to you to schedule a time for you to come in to discuss your case. One of the things I wanted to talk to you about was the impression that I got from him. I was going to recommend that you look elsewhere for another attorney to help you work out the malpractice case because I also did not like his demeanor even when responding to me."

My 5 minute phone conservation about questions relative to my case was personally addressed by Mr…read more Waxman with insulting remarks and repetitive foul language. He was very unprofessional. I felt he does not base your case on merit, because he knew nothing about mine and told me to go screw myself because he had more important things to do. Do not waste your time and money on this attorney, especially when it comes to dealing with major cases involving municipalities. He personally sounded burnt out to me but that is my opinion. He made me feel like the guilty party, even though the judgment in my case was dismissed. Below is a copy of an email exchange between us following my inquiring about his thoughts on my case. I have since learned my case does have merit. I informed the town within 180 days that I have a claim against them, and I also know I have 2 years to file suit when he told me I had no course of action. The following is a copy of our email exchange with me first responding to how he addressed me on the phone and abruptly hung up on me. I wrote: You hung up so quickly I didn't get a chance to comment on the way you spoke to me. You were extremely insulting and your language and attitude was certainly uncalled for. I am very surprised that is how you address somebody inquiring about their concerns with the law, because that is what your job is suppose to be. I let Tony Irace know that his recommendation of you is a reflection on him and that he couldn't have made a worse suggestion for someone to speak with about my case. If I didn't know any better, your concern is that your personal practice would be affected for taking on a public office or town because your all in bed together. I met with several lawyers within your 180 days, and none of them had the balls just like you. Sincerely, Michel Salvaggio Jr. Mr Michael Waxman responded with: Mjwaxy mjwaxy@aol.com Mar 19 (4 days ago) My daughter called, and when my kids call, I respond, immediately. I am so sick and tired of people who call me claiming they want legal advice when what they really want is for someone to just listen to them rant and hold their hand. You reacted very foolishly to crappy behavior by another person and there were consequences for your confusing, strange post. It could have sounded like a threat. That you refuse to acknowledge this tells me that you really are not able to accept your role in this whole affair. My language offended you? Wow. That kind of amazes me. As far as the lawyers you met with within 180 days, they clearly had no clue how to prosecute these cases or they would at least have made sure that you were aware of the 180 Notice of Claim. It is not MY fault that those lawyers blew it and essentially prevented you from suing. And as far as lacking the balls to sue public officials, once again, you are incorrect. Feel free to peruse my website and some of the articles I have posted. www.waxmanlaw.us You have no case because you missed the deadline. Why would I spend more of my time holding your hand after I have informed you that the law prevents you from suing the cops or the Town? I gave you correct legal advice, but you wanted me to be kinder and gentler to you? I save that for my kids. Good luck. Michael J. Waxman, Esq. One Monument Way, 2nd Floor P.O. Box 375 Portland, Maine 04112-0375 (207) 772-9558 phone (207) 772-9567 fax www.waxmanlaw.us P.S. I am copying attorney ....., so he understands what went down today. Frankly, I do not wish to receive referrals on cases which very clearly have absolutely no merit.
