The lunch item's that we got were fantastic. I tried a cheese and onion pasty and a Cornish pasty that was filled with beef potato and carrots. They were both excellent with crisp flakey crust and a great taste. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and we had a nice cup of tea sitting on their back patio enjoying the sun.

Wonderful selection of sausages - try the Bassett Bangers (Hot) and the 6X, also Honey Monsters are great and children love them. Also good for cooked ham, meat pies, cheeses and burgers (the pork ones are good and make a nice change). Cut meat selection really good and an excellent display which makes it easy to see everything. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Much better than supermarket meat shopping!!

The selection of meat is excellent and all from local farms a gem. And they just won another award for their amazing sausages well worth a detour!! RE-EDITED 13/3/13 Sadly since Patrick's retirement the place has changed a great deal. While the quality of the meat hasn't, the service certainly has. When under Patrick nothing was ever too much trouble and he always had a smile for everyone. His successor's team gives exactly the opposite impression. Dare not ask for something that isn't on display or may need preparing, more than just slicing, and you will be greeted with polar iciness at best. Sic transit gloria mundi

The quality of their meat is fantastic and their house made traditional pork sausages are one of the best sausages I have ever had. The filet steak is local and super tender and delicious. I cooked it for a few people and I had WOW's all around specially from a couple of them who are from London and acclaimed it was the best steak they have ever had. Now that could be down to the cooking or a combination of cooking and the right ingredients aka filet steak :-) The smoked bacon was thick and tasty and of course the pork sausages were tender, delicious and made a fry up extra special. They also have poultry and game here and I wish I lived close by to try all the different things they get locally during the year and through the seasons. They also have a nice selection of cheese and other goods. A shop well worth the visit if you want excellent quality meat and poultry. It is not cheap but then good meat never is and if you want good local produce you know it will cost you more :-)
