For the castle itself, think Downton Abbey...or maybe even more elaborate than that. The outdoor concert amphitheatre on the other hand is a modern architectural fantasy called the Cloud Tower. Near the old riding hall and stables are wine bars and eating establishments and of course the spectacular surrounding grounds and gardens await your discovery. A summer night's concert here is a perfect respite from the stress of everyday life. And all this comes with a shuttle bus from central Vienna to transport you to Grafenegg in comfort!

We missed the Vienna Philharmonic by days but secured tickets to experience performances in both the Golden and Brahm Halls. The Golden Hall was the premier one of the two with ample seating and amazing acoustics. The Brahm Hall was more intimate for smaller performances but it suffered from air circulation issues especially during the latest heatwave in Europe. We got to see a wonderful performance by a group of Northern California high schools (Monta Vista, Livermore and Lynbrook) in the Golden Hall. Tickets anywhere in the hall were just 10 Euros! The LLMV Symphony Orchestra and LLMV Wind Band split their performance across the almost 2 hours. The music choices and hall acoustics were beautiful. Parents and family were definitely here in numbers to cheer their sons/daughters on. Definitely a must to experience any performance here in the Golden Hall. The Die Schloss Capelle was a recurring performance in the Brahm Hall and the stand out for us with the 2nd half performance with a featured violinist soloist/lead who we felt really livened everything. There was a brief power outage near the beginning but the group was not flustered and kept on playing until the lighting returned! If it wasn't for the heat inside the hall then we would've enjoyed the performance more. So many of us were fanning ourselves with any piece of paper or fans we had. Multiple restrooms were available on each floor and I did not notice any significant lines. Programs were available to download via a QR Code. During the break, drinks and snacks were available outside the halls but not allowed inside. There were tables available for eating but very limited. Highly recommend planning a visit to enjoy the great sounds inside the Golden Hall. It will be memorable!

The performers were generally top-notch and their Baroque attire was a nice bonus. The staff mostly enforced the "no video" policy. People dress fairly decently here, but you'll find those that consider flip-flops and shorts as proper classical music attire. It's a lovely venue overall, so definitely soak in the history.

Cafe Concerto is a wonderful place to just relax, chat with people, listen to good music and forget…read morethe time. in Austria you would also call it a great place to "versumpern or versandeln" - I really can't translat this words in english, but they basically mean to hang around and just relax very late at night when its not yet time for you to go home. You can get lost there and if it happens to be in the basement its absolutely possible that you come out and its surprisingly already morning sunlight. There is also a wintergarden on the ground flor, which is really nice to sit.

Its a pretty ok place to go but is a little smallish for so many hipster/rocker/alternies. The music was okish and I guess it would be much better with a live band. The barmaid at the entrance bar is clearly in the wrong job as she was unfriendly, grumpy and rude and the barmaid at the back bar was a little loony. She had the prices of the most popular drinks written on her hands and arms and would flash the prices whenever you ordered. There is a non smoking area towards the back by the dance floor but I honestly didn't notice we were in it as the whole place was fairly smoke free. (unlike what some of the other reviewers say.) Overall its not the worst place to go but not the best either...

Szene is one of the best venues for gigs in Vienna and I am usually here at least twice a month at…read morea concert. Vienna has a great music scene and many bands pass through here. Its big enough to treat a crowd and just the size to still make it feel small. I have seen many great bands play here to small upcoming surprises. The venue also has a beer garden which during summer is a perfect place to hang out between concerts or at the end when you are utterly getting smashed from a night rocking. Dont hesitate and just go there!

About a dozen musicians, two singers and two dancers. Very entertaining show and it was obvious that all the artists loved what they were doing. We went on a warm day in October, and the room was VERY hot and no air circulation. Big relief to go outside during intermission. No need to dress up for this one, although many did. Nice way to spend an evening - Five stars!

After dinner, we went to another room and for me this is where the magic happen. The 9 piece ensemble of strings, piano, percussion, played classical music composed by Mozart, Strauss, Beethoven in the city they lived and maybe composed masterpieces being played by very talented musicians. To see the Viennese waltz danced by a elegant dancers in Vienna felt perfection to me. The male and female singers where so delightful in their rendition of classical songs. At the Kursalon, I understood what Vienna is about...it's glorious culture of music that spanned centuries is being performed on this stage for the audience to experience it's notes that stirs your emotion. It's spiritual as I felt a connection to the past, transported by the performance on stage. I fell in love with Vienna.

It was a little frustrating because the tickets had "musikverian" in all caps but the concert was actually in the konzerthsus down the street. Our uber was still outside when we realized the mistake so we hopped in and were at the correct hall in under 5 min. There were multiple performances going on at once and we accidentally got ushered into the wrong area. If you don't speak German give yourself plenty of time to find the correct hall. The concert we saw was open seating with no bad seat in the house. The room was small enough that you could see all the musicians very well. There was a brief intermission which served drinks and lite snacks. The program was one euro. Highly recommend so that you can follow along!
