I got into a car accident on a few days ago, which increased my chronic pain, to constant pain. In…read morenew and old areas, and I honestly just needed some relief. The original place I wanted to go (which I have an appt for in an hour today) was closed. I checked the reviews and found this place. I knew it was new, but always love giving new places a try, and of course to review until my heart's content so you don't experience what I did.
First, Amy (I believe the owner) was the only one there. Upon walking up I rang the doorbell, she kindly greater me at the door and immediately took my temperature and gave me hand sanitizer. I undressed, laid on the table, told her about my accident and the pain areas, and she got to work. When I say work, I mean it. She was walking on my back, using vigorous and painful movements across my neck and shoulders. I kept saying it hurt, she'd stop for a moment and then go right back to it. I booked for 90 minutes, was told it was $80 (it is advertised here for $79.99). The first hour was spent on just my back, I was begging her to move onto the rest of my body, she kept saying "yes, later, later."
I get massages regularly, 1-4 times every 14 days at a local wellness center in my home town. I've had lots of massages from all different places and this was the most unique. She was slapping my legs and feet pretty hard, which felt okay oddly enough, but was sudden and unexpected. To sum it up, Amy doesn't speak much English at all, she has a hard time with numbers, telling me my next visit will be only $90 for 90 minutes, which is a $10 increase, I'm sure was just a language mistake. I told her the tip amount, in which she added $100 to, and I'm glad I caught it before processing my card.
I truly wish I could give more stars or had a better experience, but I felt no relief. I was so tense my jaw was clenched the hole time. The only reason I didn't get up is because I was so desperate for relief that I was hoping it would just get better. I have another massage appointment now at a different place, seeking the relief I wanted and hoped for yesterday. Amy has the opportunity for improvement and she does have cool techniques, but understanding clients is VITAL. She didn't know I was in more pain most of the time, and needs to learn numbers so clients are charged properly. No have high hopes for this place and would come back, but some things would have to change. The facility is very nice and well kept though. There were faux flowers on the table which was a relaxing addition, and immediately put me at ease. I just wish that ease had lasted.
