Awesome service - quickest order pickup ever! Haven't been to this location since pre-Covid days and I was impressed by Rory. Rory wears a 5 year pin which does stands for solid experience and great service! So...I had issues with order pickup at the Robson & Granville location where I got a wrong item that costed $250 less...holiday shopping woes :-( Thankfully, coming to this Park Royal location resolved issue promptly, providing correct item and in higher model. Rory was smart, patient, and super knowledgeable. Look for either Rory and Disha for excellent customer service! Found them both to be very experienced, friendly and helpful! Made it to Park Royal around 16:30 and left store by 16:45, which included time to look for correct item, fix order on computer, plus help load big item purchased into my trunk. From being worried to being wowed that I had more than 12 minutes to spare till mall closing at 5pm. Won My favorite Best Buy location of the Year! P.s. if you r curious what did I do with the "extra" 12 minutes left? ...hmmm... of course I did more shopping before the mall closes! I recently just came here with my mom to buy a keyboard case they had a discount promo on for the iPad 8th generation that finally arrived recently. Ended up only paying $100 instead of $129.99 for the case. The few employees that helped us were pretty helpful to finding the case for us. PS. I'm actually a fan of big electronic stores in shopping malls, especially when they are done right. Future Shop is not my first choice, even though my first choice is the practically the same company (Best Buy) but coming to this one in Park Royal, I was surprised at how they have renovated and re-arranged the store to make it more appealing to walk in. There are two entrances to this store, one from the outside parking lot on level 2, and then there is the mall entrance. They have added a real nice Apple area, to try out the newest in Apple gear. They also seem to have more people that work at this location, as compared to other locations, there was not any problem finding someone to help me with what I was looking for. They also did not hastle me in regards to 'price-matching' certain items that I had flyers for. Maybe I caught the sales representatives on a good day. There was even an item that scanned for more than the marked price on the tag, and before I was able to say anything the checkout person quickly manually corrected it. read more

First bad Best Buy experience when trying to get a vacuum. Apparently the regular associates could only call the "guy who works for Dyson" when it was jus a senior staff with the word specialist in the title. Firstly, once the only staff who could talk to us came by, my party realized it was the guy who was staring at us when we first came to look at the prices making it feel so (racially) profiling . Then come this time we're actually ready to purchase and the dude has no care to help us. After finding out the sale we wanted was sold out it was like pulling teeth to get help finding another with zero customer service/Initiative. What made us leave to take our transaction elsewhere was when we told him (the one & only vacuum-related contact) "we'd like to purchase the dyson *xyz that's in stock." & the dude barely said ok before walking away. But instead of closing our purchase he proceeded to talk with another customer in a different department. Actually happened twice before we decided it'd be better to make a fool of him bringing the vacuum out to deserted customers. Usually staff here feel a bit pushy to get warranty's, extras, etc but this senior staff specialist didn't seem to care about anything let alone a customers experience. read more

Wanted to buy a TV, right in the middle of conversation a couple came and asked him a question about another TV, the seller (his name was ...!) arrogantly left me behind and started a whole new conversation with them as if I wasn't there at all! It was so disgusting. Having worked at Best Buy I know it gets busy at times but he could always ask another seller to help them out and continue his conversation with me rather than putting them first in the queue. I am a New Customer, I was in your store in November/2020 with my friend who introduced me to Best Buy . My friend bought a Cable (10ft) for my IPhone and I purchased a Purple Lifeproof Case for my Brand New I-Phone 11, within weeks I noticed the Purple rubber coming of my new Phone case. Eventually by the end of December, the left hand top button (used for picture taking) had broken .... I tried to return end of December/20 but was unable due to the line ups and COVID . So January 1st, I decided to take back to Best Buy Park Royal my Lifestream IPHONE because I couldn't take any pictures for the Christmas Seasons of my Immediate Family .. January 1s t2021 , I tried to Return the Broken Case to Best Buy with the Receipt and was told Rudely, that that's life . The person who was in the video game section knew jackshit about video games I asked her for a xbox controller for pc and she said "we don't have any" then I said "on your website it says you have 3 in" then she says "that website is always wrong" so I had to go to some other guy who was super helpful showed him on one of the computers in the store and showed him that they had 3 in he went and looked in back and what do you know got myself a controller. Why put a useless twit in the video game section would she give the same response to a 10 year old kid who doesn't know what he/she is doing?. Another time the same employee didn't even know they had a sale on ps3 greatest hits titles and pretty much gave me a face like I was asking a stupid question I had to go to a manager did get the sale going. Just today I tried to get the full stats of the 3 tv's I was looking to buy you know things like response time etc. He just said "You can look online for that stuff, Well! if you want a tv get this one Samsung is a better brand then dynex" What the fuck are you there for buddie? To carry my shit to the till so I can pay? It also seems like all the employes just stand around you have to go right up to them and ask for help I seen two today eating their lunch at the desk in the middle of the tv section. I Have had one guy in the audio section be super helpful in the past gave me the faqs on some audio receivers as well as helping me pick out a subwoofer and the cables I needed. We've been looking for another flat screen for the house and finally picked one out... unfortunately we were stuck buying from Future Shop so we could use up some gift cards that have been sitting around. Go figure, the only location that has the TV in want and in stock is this West Van one. We had to deal with them twice and the first time was terrible - we found a better deal elsewhere and wanted to price match. Seriously, why do they make this policy if they won't follow it! They lied - first, they tried to deny the match saying it wasn't available. So I randomly called a competitor... well, lo and behold, they were on sale and in stock both online and at another location. Grrr. And then trying to get them to do 10% of the difference? It was like pulling teeth. Future Shop is fine for straightforward purchases like DVDs and games. But they have been a pain for both of our TV purchases in the last few years... I hate coming back to them but last time they were the only ones who carried the model we wanted in Canada, and this time, we had gift cards to use up. Pluses from them are the great selection and delivery fee is reasonable ($50). read more

Went in here to buy a fridge on New Year's Day. Our in-store experience was totally fine. We knew exactly which one we wanted, but the associate was helpful and did not aggressively push the extended warranty as some appliance stores do. They also honoured the on-sale price we'd seen online. Problems started with delivery. First off, Best Buy has a bizarrely inefficient procedure where the new appliance is delivered by one team and installed by another. Luckily we could find room for an extra fridge in our apartment for a day or two. The fridge was delivered as promised, so far so good, with the installation (And removal of the old fridge) scheduled for the next morning. The problem starts when no installer appears. We got no notification at all - I had to call to be told that their truck had broken down. These things happen, sure, but is a text message too much to ask? I was promised a call back to reschedule, this never appeared so I called again that evening to be given no information whatsoever and promised another (non-existent) callback. Called again the next day and finally managed to make another appointment, so the fridge will be finally installed a week after it should have been. No one at Best Buy has offered any kind of explanation or apology or really done anything at all to try and remedy the situation - it has been our effort all along to get things moving. When I'm paying something like $200 for delivery/installation I expect more. In a world where I can see where my takeaway dinner is via an app, it should not be too much for Best Buy (Supposedly a tech company!) to manage to keep customers up to date. I would actively avoid Best Buy in future, or at least only buy things that I can take away from the store myself! read more

I bought a 43 in Samsung 4K tv which I had used for about a month in the last 6 months. The picture fell apart with dead pixels. I took it back and they wouldn't do anything. Wouldn't give me the mailing address to send it back to Samsung (news flash..! BEST BUY DOESN'T HONOUR THEIR WARRANTY IN ANY WAY.) She had the gonads to roll her eyes explaining that I should have boughten the extended warranty. Doesn't matter what store I shop at I will never buy any thing from them again. $600 for a computer, $1100 for my phone, $1500 for a 70in tv, and now this $430 43in nightmare of a tv. I guess when you add it all up I'm not that important to them. Even if I would have boughten the extended warranty I still would have had to pay for shipping and their "Geek Squad" to look at it and you just know there's a service fee (fees) waiting down that road. Went into Future Shop West Vancouver on Monday, January 2nd - Long after the Boxing Day madness had subsided. I wanted to buy a Sony LED TV and blu-ray player. I should have known I'd have trouble even before I walked into the store. I tried to call them ahead of time to find out if the TV I wanted was still in stock. All I needed to do was reach someone who could type into Future Shop's computer and tell me if it was available (I would have done this online, but FS's system doesn't allow it at Christmastime). No one would pick up - I just bounced from voice prompt to voice prompt. Finally I reached someone who told me they have five of the TVs in stock. Great. I arrived at the store, cash in hand, knowing exactly what I wanted. No one had to answer questions. No one had to spend 20 minutes explaining what "1080p meant." All they had to do was give me the TV and blu-ray player and take my money. Impossible. I could not get ANYONE to help me. The store was not overly busy and I was just standing in the aisle waiting and pacing and waiting - I waited 15 minutes... No one. Finally a harried staffer said 'Is anyone helping you?' 'No,' I replied, 'I just want to buy this TV.' This began another 20 minutes of waiting as they tried to find someone who could retrieve the TV from a high shelf. By now I was ready to walk out, but it seemed like I was close to the end... Finally, after standing near the shelves (and turning off the inane Dyson vacuum video just so I could think as I stood there) they finally picked the TV. Five minutes later I had paid and was out of there. C'mon Future Shop - You can do better. A transaction that should have taken five minutes took forty-five, in a store that wasn't even that busy. read more

They really need to train their employees on information of what they are selling, and even if they do know the info they try to sell more to you cause of commission. Then you get the employees that just don't give a shit. And the the tv section employees just stand around talking to each other and once you wander into that section they pounce on you for a sale. I often get overwhelmed when walking into best buys and not knowing all the technical elements to buy something- though I try to do my research before-hand. I am also weary of pushy salespeople. I met a nice gentleman named JAN today who was really helpful. He answered all my questions in detail and with full honesty (when a product was overkill or not matching what I was needing it for), comparing Asus vs. Acer ad nauseum until I felt confident I understood the difference. He went to get items from stock (not on Display) for me to connect to my laptop to check screen resolution -I was buying a large screen monitor. Even though I took about 30 min to compare products, he was not pushy and regularly checked in on me to make sure I had all my questions answered. I bought a product I was happy and hopefully wiill be able to keep, it was much easier than browzing and buying on-line. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with Future Shop. I love it because of their selection and variety of products. I hate it, however, because the staff are some of the least helpful I've experienced, and none of them seem to like their jobs. I went in last week because my MacBook was acting up. Every time I plugged my iPhone into it, some random warning message would appear (and it wouldn't charge). I did a little troubleshooting myself, but decided the computer guys at Future Shop would know better than I. The guy took my computer into the back to have a look at it, and came out moments later saying that he (and his co-worker in the back) had never seen this issue/message before. He said there would be a $100 "diagnostic fee", which I think it utter bull. I said, "no thanks" and left. When I got to my car, I tried to plug my phone in to charge, but it didn't work. The lightbulb went off in my brain, and I went back into future shop to buy a new charging cord, which solved all my problems - a $20 fix. I brought this simple fix to the attention of the guys that had tried to sell me on a diagnostic fee, and they said "We thought that might have been the case, but we weren't sure so we didn't say anything". Unbelievable. Classic scam. I've experienced several dishonest business practices from this Future Shop location over the last 10 or so years, and this was the last straw. I will not be back, and will take my business to London Drugs or Visions (the other two similar stores on the North Shore). read more

I got a drone from here as a gift and couldn't figure out how to update it asked the best buy workers on help they told me to call a drone specialist without even looking at anything. Also they never answer there phone calls! I sat on my couch for 30 minutes just waiting for them to answer and ended up hanging up of boredom and tiredness. I went to buy a camera here once, and when I went to return (which they clearly state that you can), the manager of the camera department had a little rage-fest. It was pretty sad. She was yelling at me in front of all the customers saying that I couldn't return it. She eventually allowed me to return it, but she took down my name and told me I could never return anything there again. I always read return policies carefully. If they don't want to allow a return, then they should include that in their policy. It wasn't like I had the camera for a week and took it on Vacation. I had bought it the day before, took it home and tested it out. The quality was poor. Only being able to test a camera indoors under violet lights does not give a good indication of how well the camera operates in most conditions. Ideally I would like to just give her a bad rating, but she represents the store, so they are responsible too. I don't shop at future shop at all anymore. read more

Worst place to shop! Many promises and none are delivered. The warranty is waste of money. Have purchased a laptop with 2 year future shop warranty. My laptop has been repaired 2 times for the exact same defect. the issue was never resolved and it is damaged physically as well. So the warranty is not useful and no one cares to provide an acceptable customer service after the sale is done. I have mentioned the physical damage to management, employees and geek squad, they promised to contact me as soon as they figured out how my laptop has been damaged but never received a word from them. have been to store 5 times now and each time there is an excuse. Now I have defected laptop, wasted money on warranty(my damage is covered by the warranty but no one wants to fix the issue!) and wasted my time. just to let you know, Just a recommendation, Bestbuy owns futureshop and the bestbuy employees do not work based on commissions so they do not try to JUST SELL. read more

First of all I would like to say thank you to the store manager Mathew and sales rep Ricardo. I had purchased a computer and two monitors online that were on sale. Two days later customer service emails me back saying they ran out of stock; this was strike one. I then made my way to the west van Best Buy to actually see what they had in stock. I met Ricardo and he said yes we could buy what we needed in store. He did not leave me hanging there, taking me to customer service where I Met the Manager Matthew. Matthew pulled every string for me so I left happy. Best Buy should feel privileged to have such a strong team. Matthew and Ricardo knocked my experience right out of the ball park. Today i visited future shop for the first time in ages, having it been my preferable electronics store in the past. I was in the market for a new laptop. After i found a laptop by myself because the customer service here is TERRIBLE now, including the fact they could barely understand me and i speak perfect fluent english. ANYWAYS they grabbed "the box" for the laptop i wanted to get. I PAID ABOUT 1000$, including my insurance for the laptop. get home open my brand new laptop to find some dumb A$$ had given me a used laptop. fiendishly discuised to apear new. getting returned tomoro and going somewhere else instead. This is my first experience with Geek Squad at Best Buy, and I'm being disappointed by the experience. I took my iPad Pro with a non-functioning screen in last month, and it took them exactly 31 days to replace the screen, which should really take only a week. I didn't have a problem with it, as a matter of fact, because it had been explained by the rep that it would be hard to get the part and take a while. What I'm disappointed with, however, is their misleading information regarding the cost of the service (they promised it'd be between $400 and $500; it was over $600); their estimate of the return date after the diagnosis (after the diagnosis, they estimated the service to be completed within a week; it took 3 more weeks); the workmanship of the screen replacement (lines drawn on the new screen with my Apple Pencil kept breaking in certain region of the screen). When I took the serviced unit back to the store, the rep's attitude was nonchalant at best. No 'sorry that this happened; we'll take care of this ASAP'. Even after a week since then I'm not getting a call as to what is happening to my iPad Pro. In the meantime, I got an e-mail from Geek Squad asking for a feedback. I shared my frustration in the survey, and because my ratings were low in general, it asked for my contact info and the best time to reach. It's been five days since then; nothing. I called Geek Squad customer line and asked them to give me an update. The agent said someone at the store would call me between 24-48 hours. Nothing. I don't think they are bad people; based on my experience I think they have no system and they say stuff they don't really know what they are talking about. They don't even know how their business works. I am yet to know what is happening to my iPad Pro, and obviously I will take my business elsewhere in the future; I will actually help everyone save their money and frustration by posting on Internet. read more

Worst Best Buy I've ever been to. Customer service is slow and half of them don't know what they're doing. They usually only have 1 cashier on duty. They keep empty boxes of product on the shelf and ask me to bring the boxes to the cashier. I wait 20 minutes for a cashier to ring 1 person through, then when I hand them the box I wait another 5 minutes for them to find the product. Then they come back and tell me they don't have it in stock and I need to order it online. I ask why they have it on the shelf and they say it's company policy. Then when I go to customer service to order the product online. They say it's not even available in he warehouse. So they have empty boxes on the shelf but don't have it in stock or available to order online. Bloody ridiculous. I come here to get tax exempt but it's not worth it anymore. I'm just going to pay the tax somewhere else. I don't recommend this Best Buy to anyone. read more
