We took advantage of all the amenities the resort had to offer. We had espresso on our beautiful balcony every morning. Listened to the birds and watching the sunlight stream through the trees. We were able to step outside our door to the pool and swim in luxurious surroundings. We attended a champagne toast with hotel management on Thursday evening which was lovely. We lounged and napped in the large swing chairs. We relaxed in the sauna in the tranquil Japanese garden. Our room was large and pristine. The staff was excellent and attended to our every need. We booked a less expensive room and they were kind enough to upgrade us because it was our honeymoon. We both got massages and facials at the Sheisido spa and then we enjoyed the relaxation room with tea afterwards. Heavenly. To finish our week, we had dinner at the Michelin starred restaurant La Candille. The flavors and complexity of the dishes I have never experienced before! Excellent service as well. The room had a comfortable bed and they provided an extra blanket. However, some of the fixtures were somewhat tired and could use a refresh, like the bedside tables and the countertops in the bathroom. Our room had a private area in the garden, which made taking the dogs out in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning very easy. One of my dogs is very pee shy and doesn't like to go anywhere that isn't our garden. However, he felt very at home and ease here (strange thing to put in a Yelp review, I know, but if you have a dog, IKYK!) The ground of the hotel are beautiful. It has a lovely garden with citrus and olive trees, as well as other well designed plantings. Although we were there in mid-November, the pool was still open. There was indoor and outdoor seating for breakfast. The restaurant for dinner is closed most of the week during the off-season so check ahead. The hotel had lots of parking and even had two Tesla charging stations. Check in and check out were straightforward and efficient. I would likely stay here again if I returned to Mougins.

The hotel itself is very nice and picturesque. There is a small but cosy lounge, with elegant French interior design, with a bar and fireplace. There is also a restaurant (later) and a beautiful open courtyard with a swimming pool, beautiful lawns and tables where one can have meals there as well (I would advise breakfast when in-season). The rooms themselves follow the same design philosophy of the hotel - they are very comfortable, spacious and elegant. During my last visit (always corporate), I went to the restaurant, which is quite expensive (25EUR for starters, 35 for main courses, 15 for desserts). The food was quite good, but I would have two complaints - first of all, the menu is very limited (there were 4 -5 starters, 4 - 5 main courses, 4 - 5 desserts) on the evening I ate, there was no beef (i had the choice between lamb, fish or pigeon!!). Secondly the garcons tend to be quite young, inexperienced and maybe also lacking some professionality. Apart from one night in February (where the heating was turned off) and two nights in April (where there were some ants in everyone's rooms) I would recommend this hotel for corporate visits, as it really is quite beautiful (and American clients really enjoy it!). We decided on this property because it was a Relais & Chateaux, photos were magnificent and because the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. When we first arrived to the room we were quite impressed. It was huge by any standards and at least 1000 ft.². Unfortunately things went downhill from there. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. They pushed two twin beds together to make up a king bed, and while that's common in Europe, this mattress was rockhard and the sheets were stiff. They provided a TV in the room and a DVD player but when I inquired about borrowing a DVD to watch, they said they don't have any. The Wi-Fi in the room was so horrible that it made it impossible to send emails or use the Internet. This is 2015 and wifi should not be an issue, especially at these prices. The electronics in the room were a bit janky too and a broken speaker drove my husband mad when we first arrived. The service was very nice, especially at dinner. We did the full tasting and really enjoyed sitting on their terrace. Unfortunately the food was rather fussy. Almost each and every course had some sort of foam on it. They should have focused less on the foam and more on the flavors of the food. The best courses were the soups, oddly enough. Despite the gorgeous setting, I would not come back here, as the food was just disappointing.

The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The food at their restaurant was so much better than what I expected. And the staff went out of their way to answer any and all our questions. However, in typical fashion, I will complain about something; the WiFi signal could use a boost. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. And if you come here, so will you. This place is great.

I love the environment here: eat breakfast on the patio where the view of the hills and fields is lovely. The manoir itself is charming - all made of stone with ivy on the walls. The rooms are small though. And wifi only on the lobby is a pain. The prices are very reasonable especially compared to Cannes so all-in-all it's worth it. Oh and the food is delicious.

The hotel is only a short drive from the quaint village of Valbonne and also close to Mougines, Antibes, and Grasse, The 12 Euro breakfast was very good with a big selection. The pool was great for cooling off and very pleasant. La Bastide has on site parking and a super friendly stafff. They put up with my miserable French and they also spoke very good English. The place has that wonderful lavender smell that is so nice in Provence. Ask for a room that does not face the street if you want a little more quiet. We loved this place and if we go back to this region, we would definitely stay there again.

Well, the rooms are relatively large, reasonably furnished with modernised bathrooms, and some have views over the pool. The rooms do have safes, but do suffer from the "not laptop sized" Peeve. It is well presented and maintained, and is in pleasant grounds, but does fall victim to the limited amount of parking provision Peeve (but not the car size problem) if the property is full. The service is good and friendly, with staff fluent in English. The WiFi service is free for up to 2 devices / room, and runs at a reasonable bandwidth. But the air conditioning in the current main building is a Two Pipe offering which is run on Heat Only October-April, so the FCUs (Fan Coil Units) blow hot air in Warm Springs or Indian Summers (I'm told the additional Suite rooms being built for completion sometime in 2013 will have individual air conditioning units which will avoid this Peeve for that part of the hotel in future). The parking and air conditioning limitations impacted on me during a visit in April 2013, so although in many ways I quite like the property, I can't really award more than 3* on balance.

Like most of the region prices aren't cheap, but it's a good central base for exploring the Côte d'Azur.

Decorated with the photos of famous movie stars, directors and celebrities, visiting Cannes film festival, and most of them were staying at this hotel of course. If you book a regular standard room - don't expect that it will be big and spacious like in the same kind of hotels in US for example. It will be pretty small, but elegantly cozy and with great bed, very comfortable linens and duvet. If you need ice - call room service, there is no ice machine. The suits and penthouses are much larger and some of them have balconies and gorgeous Mediterranean sea view. Minibar in the room, no coffee or tea maker, it's not Marriott... Breakfast is an enormous buffet and it would cost you about 40 euros per person. But it's really something. They offer all you can think of. And Champaign of course - Pommery. Smoked Salmon, cheese selection, meat cuts, order your omlet or eggs of any kind... If you're a breakfast person- you'll indulge yourself. But if you eat just fruits for breakfast- that's offering much more for the price they charge. You can do room service too. SPA is in the building. Looks trendy, but I haven't tried their services. Fitness center looks good too. Occupies two rooms and features various cardio machines, strength, weights, cycling machines, and equipment for functional training and even for boxing. They offer packages, like 5th night for free, SPA package etc. The outdoor pool is right next to the Fouquet's restaurant and it's not big, but enough to relax and have a drink may be. There is a bar right next to the pool. They have their private beach. The rates are really incredibly high to my mind and there are people who are paying the price for some hotels less than they charge for the sun bed at the beach, but for the Cannes standards I would say that it's quite normal. Full day at the beach (9am-6:30 pm) would be 50 Euros average for person. Half day would be average 30 per person. They have slight difference if you reserve at pontoon, first raw or regular beach area. And the water sports rentals are at the pier, invcluding such activities as parasailing, flying fish, water-skiing, wakeboarding, etc. Also lessons with instructor are possible. There is a restaurant and lounge area. Restaurant is open for lunch from noon. Beach looks beautiful. But I noted that after rains or light storm they don't bother to clean it- the seashore and the water there was incredibly dirty, full of disgusting garbage. For the hotel of this level it was very disappointing, especially if you have to pay for the beach 40-50 Euros per person and overlook all this dirt. Of course I understand that people don't go much into to the water to swim, but just stay there the to show off, but if the water was cleaner may be they would go in more... On the territory there are 3 restaurants and 2 bars. Fouquet's Cannes as the one in Paris is really famous in the city as well as the Rotonde Louise Pommery Bar. There are charming helpful concierges working all the time and they will be happy to reserve you a table at the Michelin star restaurant of your likeness or suggest you something nice to their taste. Valet Parking for your convenience. Great place for your romantic holidays at French Riviera.

We arrived at the hotel at around 6:00 PM after a 6-hour drive, only to be told that they had…read moreaccidentally sold our room to someone else. They apologized and promised to upgrade us to an even better room than the one we had originally booked. When the room was finally ready, we were completely shocked. We had paid nearly €10,000 for a 7-night stay, yet the room was under 25 square meters, had no balcony, and barely had enough space to walk around. The staff were rude, especially the older French woman at the reception, whose only explanation was, "human error." We had booked this stay 1.5 months in advance, so this excuse was simply unacceptable. They eventually moved us to another room that was only a few square meters larger and located right next door--even though she had insisted the hotel was completely sold out. On top of that, guests have to pay for Wi-Fi, €75 per day for parking, and breakfast wasn't even included. To make matters worse, the omelet station uses the same pans and utensils for pork products despite the large number of Muslim guests staying at the hotel. This shows a complete lack of consideration for their guests. The hotel itself is outdated and poorly maintained. One of the elevators was out of service throughout our stay, resulting in long waiting times. We checked out after just 24 hours and were offered no refund, no discount, and no compensation whatsoever for the nearly €10,000 we had paid. We didn't even receive a genuine apology or a smile from the older lady at the front desk. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. Save yourself the disappointment and stay far away.
