There is a small friendly bar in the lobby. Staff at every level were accommodating. The only strange thing was that when we checked in we were asked if we wanted a room with a window or not. At first that seemed strange, then we realized that with it being the summer there are only about 3 hours of darkness outside so some people may not want the sun in their windows at 3:00 am. The rooms are very spacious, meticulously kept and quiet for a restful night sleep. The people that work here from the front desk to the restaurant could not be more helpful. It is a bit pricey but well worth the money that you'll spend. We took advantage of the restaurant for a delicious buffet type breakfast to start the day but if you want something lighter many cafe's close by. Also used the exercise facility which is associated with a spa on the 8th floor that had everything I needed. This is a wonderful hotel & would recommend it!

So many choices of food and very fresh delicious ingredients. They also have sauna in house and I loved it. We've been exploring the city in the daytime and after walking around quite a bit, all you can ask for is a relaxing sauna break. It's not big but having to be able to enjoy this as a complimentary was very nice. So overall, it has great service, nice staff, amazing amenities and hip atmosphere for a reasonable cost. I would definitely would like to stay at Helka again when I come back to visit Helsinki.

We opted to wait and have breakfast. Around 10am I went back and was told it would maybe be 1pm. Now I know that's still early but they saw us sitting here for 3 hours and no one said a thing- which was really annoying. There's a luggage room that we places our suitcases in and then hit the town. Location is another pro- connected to Kamppi you have a tone of options for food, shopping and entertainment. Once we were back and checking in they had upgraded us to a larger room- love that. The hotel room was nice, but the beds and the pillows were uncomfortable. We also found the room to be rather hot despite having the temp as low as it could go. We only spent one night here and honestly it was pretty meh. Breakfast is about $26EUR per person.

A few drawbacks: The hallway lighting is very dim, which gives the floors a slightly gloomy feel--brightening this up would improve the atmosphere.
