Checked in. Went to room. Door to outside would not open from outside. Door handle falls off from inside. Went to desk. He came tried it. Says battery must be dead and maintenance will be here 11 am tomorrow. Well no good doesn't do much for us tonight. No maintenance available until after checkout next day Door handle falls off again. Toilet won't stop running. Float is bad. Have to hold it until it gets full so don't have to listen to it run all night. No maintenance available until after checkout at 11 am. In morning none of lamps turn on. Flipped the gfci button in bathroom outlet and still nothing. Go tell desk manager and desk clerk. They says maintenance will be here at 11 am.... After checkout So not a value at all for price paid. I don't recommend this motel. So much broken. No one on call to fix broken items. Not a very safe room if door handles and locks broken. Should have asked for a refund. read more

Very expensive for what you get. Front desk guy is creepy. He stays in the back with door locked, you have to call to get him to come to the front desk! Most of the time the maid had to get him.. con's small breakfast, no elevator, no pool, and $250 a night for two queens! Pros room was clean but you should expect that!! WARNInG, Bed Bugs! in town for funeral and was awoken in middle of night being bitten by bed bug, it was so big that I caught it and smashed it between paper leaving the blood smashed bug to deliver to front desk in middle of night. kid at front desk admitted they have been having reports. daughter and my luggage now compromised due to this filthy environment. headed to Walmart to purchase cortisone for welts from the allergic reactions from being bitten read more

Has free Wifi. My room with king size bed has a door to the outside and one to the inside. Another good feature in my room is a reclining chair. The lobby has a grandfather's clock and other traditional furnishings. Artwork is appropriate for Huron which is known for its pheasants. read more

This is definitely one of the nicer hotels in Huron, South Dakota! The rooms were very clean and the price for a room very affordable. Hotel has a hot tub and exercise room. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. The hotel is located next to a few gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants. Plenty of parking too! read more

This hotel changed hands in the past year and is very poorly managed. Rooms and halls were dirty, and not cleaned for days. Breakfast area is dirty and poorly stocked. Overflowing garbage was not picked up for several days. I complained to Best Western and got no satisfaction after four calls to their customer service number. read more

Have never in my lifetime done a review for a hotel but I travel all the time and never had an experience like this; the first night of a 5 night stay I pulled the sheets back and discovered dirty, blood-stained sheets! Slept on top of the spread and talked to the front desk lady the next day. She apologized profusely and said she would take care of it herself. 2nd night- got to room late and the same blood-stained sheets were still on the bed! Front desk guy apologized profusely and gave me keys to a different room. Next morning same lady says she will personally clean the room. 3rd nite- get back to the room and the same dirty, blood-stained sheets are STILL ON THE BED!!!! I proceed to take the sheets off and take them to front desk; after some choice words the guy apologized and goes up and cleans the room and finally changes the sheets!!! read more

One of the worst hotels I have ever been to. I understand that it is a small town and services are limited but there is no reason for a room not to be clean. There were people smoking in non smoking rooms. It was noisy, and cleaning staff were banging on my door when I have a "do not disturb" sign on the door. The front desk staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but cant change the quality of the hotel. read more

My room wasn't cleaned at all when I checked in and when I went to the desk it was blamed on their ability to not manage their house cleaners. It was 4pm when arrived (one hour past check in time and 5 hours past check out time) and almost all of the doors in the second floor were open. I suspect they were not cleaned yet and my original was marked down when it wasn't touched. I tore apart my next room and the bed was cleaned however there was half used shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower. The internet doesn't work here. It will go in and out every minute and their hallways smell of a heavy smoker. Maybe because they leave their uncleansed smoking room doors open all day. Clean the room and stop having your entire hotel hallways smell of smoke. I do not know if this is the standard for a small place such as Huron, SD. If it wasn't for business and being the only hotel in a 30 mile radius I wouldn't be here. I can stand the outdated furniture and design as long as the room is clean. I cannot wait to leave and am hoping a Hilton hotel will be opened here for my future use. It is sad that Best Western has to put a sign in the lobby stating every one hotel in THEIR chain is owned and run separately. I am sorry but you are the corporation and each place is a franchise. You do have control of them. Act like an adult and get this place in line. The Supreme Court of the U.S. as ruled you are responsible for your places. You can start by not letting a company own one of your hotel who's title as the word profit in it. The only positive experience I had was Trevor's ability to apologize for all of these mistakes and help me get a clean room as soon as I was down there. He seems like a hard worker how is really passionate about his position. Now if he is a Manager and has control over the housekeeping staff then he isn't too competent for allowing them to work there. read more
