I mean, you get what you pay for; it's a three star hotel. I think it's safe to say you won't be impressed with the room nor will you be disgusted by it. There was a desk chair in the room that seemed like it's seen a couple decades of use. The sink did not easily turn off and water would continue to drip if you didn't position handle just right. Additionally, this was the first hotel I've ever stayed at where the room door doesn't automatically close behind you. It seems like it gets stuck on the carpet and you have to force it shut. Overall, it seemed clean and met my needs. The room had a tv, fridge, and microwave. It also included a complimentary breakfast; the menu currently rotates by day of the week. The day I went they had Sausages, Boiled Eggs, Potato Tots, and (Build Your Own) Waffles. For drinks, they had soft drinks, juice, milk, coffee and tea. You use the coffee dispenser for hot water; it's under "flavor shots". The had some Quaker's instant oatmeal pouches by the tea as well. Horrible Experience -- Never Coming Back From the moment we arrived, the hotel smelled unpleasant -- like a mix of smoke and something else -- even though it's supposedly a non-smoking property. Trying to sleep was a nightmare. The walls are extremely thin (not necessarily the hotel's fault, but still worth noting), and there were loud guests roughhousing for hours right next door. Our room had a strong odor of smoke and dirty shoes, and the air conditioner barely worked, leaving us hot and uncomfortable all night. The worst part? Someone actually entered our room at 3 am. They had been given a key -- to our room -- by staff, with no ID verification. Turns out the woman was staying in the room next door, but the fact that she was given access to our space is completely unacceptable and terrifying. Thankfully, Susan at the front desk helped us quickly and got us moved to another room. We're grateful for her help -- but overall, this was an awful stay and we won't be returning. read more

As a BW member, I've stayed at quite a number of best western hotels and this one definitely has the best breakfast I've ever had at any continental "budget" hotel breakfast. So many options, variety, and it kept coming out fresh. Yeah it's probably not real "from the shell" eggs but you get what you get for a budget hotel. The rooms were spacious and I loved how it had a French door opening out to a balcony on the second floor. Bathrooms were also very clean. Of course the overall of the hotel is a little dated but for the value it was not bad! Lots of good eats at a walkable distance from here. Can't speak about the safety of the parking lot but we didn't feel unsafe staying here. Would stay here again! read more

Check in was quick and easy and the front desk representative was nice. My issues were with the cleanliness of the room and the breakfast attendant. I've posted pictures of the hair in the shower and dirty lounge chair. I wouldn't have known about the old desk chair had it not been for the interaction with the breakfast attendant in the lounge. The attendant hovered around me and gave me EXTRA unwanted attention. Out of all of the guests in the area, I was the only person asked for my room number. From there, she hovered as I selected breakfast items. Since I felt uncomfortable, I decided to take the items back to my room. As I searched for silverware, the attendant arrived with a paper plate and fork advising that if I wanted to eat in my room I could use those. Wonder how she knew I wanted to leave. She then stared at me while I transferred my food. To the point that I moved away from her. This was the most awkward experience that I've ever had and makes me. Ever want to stay again. I only found the shredded desk chair due to needing to return to my room. Based on the price point with this service, I won't be returning. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to see how lovely this Best Western was. The lobby was clean and staff attentive. The room was clean and appeared well maintained. Our room was on the 2nd floor and had a balcony. It was a nice addition to a typical room. The public restroom was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was tasty. Love me a waffle bar! Best Western is generally not my go-to choice in hotels but I needed a cheap place for a quick trip. This place exceeded my expectations. And I normally have high expectations so that's saying a lot. You get a lot for what you pay. The building and rooms are clean and well maintained, and service is professional. There is complimentary breakfast and you actually get real food. Conveniently located off 880/237 - aside from the usual and customary smell of Milpitas, this hotel was on point. I had low expectations of this Best Western, and it definitely surprised me! The front desk was super friendly both at check-in and at check-out. The room we got was located on the 2nd level. Small, but clean! The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. I usually like to bring my own pillow because I always find hotel pillows to be way too soft - but these were perfect. An extra pillow and blanket were found in the closet. Nice big flat screen TV. Microwave and fridge in the room. Lots of outlets to plug-in and charge all your devices. The bathroom was clean. Shower pressure was great - and good drainage. (Hate showers when you're standing in an inch or so of your bath water). And! Your stay comes with complimentary breakfast - which again, I had low expectations for. And again, I was left surprised. They had: scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, waffle maker, French toast, Canadian ham, breakfast sausage links, fruit, breakfast potatoes, hash browns, bagels, cereals, and oatmeal. Front desk staff was super friendly and accommodated my family and I. I have 3 kids (6,3 &1). The tend to be loud and especially my 1 year old. This is one of my personal top 3 Best Western locations I have stayed at. Lots of work trucks when I arrived late in the evening, which gave me the impression that this location is safe and not a party zone (quiet). The staff were all very friendly. Room was a bit dated but clean. It's rare that a hotel room is cleaned to my standards but this location was amazing. The reason I booked this location was to use the sauna and steam rooms. The steam room never got steamy. I didn't have much time, I only warmed it up for about 15 minutes. Also the buttons are confusing so it might have been user error. I am disappointed that I didn't get to use the steam room but the sauna was great. Breakfast was basic. Not much selection for fresh fruit. They have a fancy coffee machine that makes lattes and cappuccinos. There is a bar area which offers some dinner as well. There's also a lovely fountain in the front. I've stayed at many Best Westerns within the past decade, mostly for work. But this one was for leisure, extending a work trip one more day to visit a friend in the San Jose area. I had just left a Best Western in Sacramento and that one was just okay, but nothing exciting. Brookside was my choice for next night due to a good price and location. Upon driving up to the property, was pleasantly surprised. Fresh asphalt parking lot, bubbling fountain, and a holiday-decked lobby. The staff member was cheery and gave a quiet upper floor room on the small, newer auxiliary wing. I opened the door to the room and thought, oh it's so nice, why wasn't my week in a Sacramento BW this nice?! After driving so much did not want to drive to a dinner restaurant, so walked across the street to the large strip mall. There were numerous popular restaurants - Asian, Indian, Middle-Eastern, Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian, Asian-fusion, Korean - it was the jackpot of dinner options. I chose a Chinese noodle house - delicious! Had never visited Milpitas before but will now remember it's a place to visit if you're hungry. The hotel breakfast was served in a bar-dining room, again holiday decoration-bedecked, with food choices that exceeded other BWs. Most BWs are just plain eating areas, but this one resembled a real restaurant. The workout room in the hotel had a serious weight setup, and three exercise machines. What was unusual was that there was also a sauna and a steam room. I've not seen that in a BW before. Wish I had been able to spend the past week in this BW hotel instead of Sacramento! This was a pleasant surprise! I came in late to San Jose without having a reservation for a hotel. The Courtyard by Marriott (least expensive in the area for a brand name) was totally booked and the other options for name brands were in the $450-600 per night range. So I checked out hoteltonight.com and found this Best Western for $219. It's been a while since I've stayed at a Best Western, but figured it was just really to get a few hours sleep before I had to fly out in the morning, so I booked it. Check in clerk was really nice. I didn't have luggage so she gave me a toothbrush, toothpaste, razor and shaving cream. The room was clean, there was a microwave, small fridge, a couple bottles of complementary water. And they have free WiFi. Shower was clean and hot in the morning. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try out the complementary breakfast, but it sounded like it was more than just a muffin and coffee. The only negative comment is that it is close to the freeway, so if you are a light sleeper, you might want to ask for a room on the side away from the freeway. I'd actually consider going back here if I need to stay in San Jose area again. For the price compared to others in the area, it's a good value. read more

From staycations, weddings, work, in between moves, to waiting for Ac to be fixed during heatwave, I've stayed at my 80% of hotels in the area over the last 15 years. I've stayed at this Best western about 10 times and every time I ask myself, "oh yea I love this place. Why didn't I think of this place all the other time ?" From courteous staff to the thoughtful amenities it's obvious that their goal is to really make you feel welcomed and at home. It's obvious that everyone has been there for some time, know their job and do it well. Which is probably why the ampoaphere is calm. The manager is super sweet is running a well oiled machine. The fact that they only hold your card info, during check in and do not place a "incidental hold" or any amount is a sign of how laid back and gives you an idea of how they view their guests... like family. Ive always find those annoying holds Insulting especially since you've already stay at a hotel and they have $200 hold and you want to extend 1 night, they hold another $200. And it's not even nice than this hotel. So right off the bat, theres mutual respect and understanding. The rooms are well Kept. I have no doubt that of other hotels did the same and didn't hold deposits, people will be more incline to treat the rooms with more respect and care as well. This place is alway pretty packed. The property isn't too big, always smells good, has two stories, some with balconies, two separate buildings that have been renovated, self laundry room, large private business center area on the second floor, a big size dining/patio area, pantry, and free parking. Has one of the best complementary breakfast buffet around. Lots of options, fresh, friendly dining staff who's always on stand by to put more food out. They have self serving juice machines, soda machine and cappuccino/latte/mocha machine that's delicious. Also complementary even socials during the week nights that consists of fresh baked cookies, happy hour full bar and "snacks" that buffet of nachos, French fries, nuggets, salad, corn, chili (I know they change it up and offer more. I only made it twice but there's always a fun crowd and good vibes.) Its because of this best western that have chosen other Best Westerns when traveling and I found that this one is truly unique with the most bang for your buck! read more

Best Western is not typically my first choice when it comes to hotels, but the deal that I got this particular stay was too good to pass up. My family flew into San Jose for a church event that was based there as well as the Bay Area (Burlingame/San Mateo) and this hotel was our best option. It is just a 15 minute drive from SJC (~$7 lyft). Upon arriving, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The premises is very clean and has the nicest, very helpful front desk staff. Immediately to the left are cookies and coffee station which I really appreciated after traveling. We preferred a first floor room since we have a toddler and we got one just steps from the front desk. So convenient! We received our paper with the following perks/info that I remember: Free WiFi password Times for free continental breakfast Times for the free OPEN BAR happy hour Items available at the front desk (additional towels, toothbrush, etc) Our standard 2 queen bed room came with everything we needed, including a fridge that fit all we needed it for (leftover food, water, baby's milk, freezer packs). Keurig tea/coffee station. Everything we needed. Nothing more, nothing less. Cleaner than expected. Smell could be better but not much they can do about it. One bad thing I noticed was a big brown stain on the towel that I was using. This grossed me out a little. But I can overlook this because of the kindness and attentiveness that was given to us during our 2-night stay. They even came through for us when we needed change for a 5. It's the little things that matter to me and they delivered. If you need to get to the Bay Area from the hotel, it is about a $50-60 Lyft if you don't have a car. To cut our cost, we rode BART from the city to South Fremont stop then took a Lyft to the hotel from there (for about $15). A good, cheaper (but longer) option. Because of this stay, I would consider staying at a Best Western Plus again to save money. read more

I came here for a few days last week , I definitely recommend this hotel. If you are in the Milpitas area and looking for a place this is where to stay. They have a cute a cozy bar/lounge in the hotel with one of the best Happy Hour specials around. All you can eat and drink for only $20/per person! The food is not bad at all. The Bartender they have working there, Donna, I believe is her name. She is great! Wonderful customer service skills. She is super friendly and a major reason I would definitely be returning to this hotel. She def made our stay so memorable. read more

*UNDER CONSTRUCTION AS OF THIS REVIEW* Stayed there for 3 nights, one by myself and the last two with some friends. The front desk is being worked on currently, but the area where you check in is quite small but has everything you need from coffee to freshly baked cookies. Wonderful staff never had a rude incident or anything that they couldn't handle with such professionalism. So check-in and check-out were really great. The rooms themselves I was quite surprised by, in a good way. The first night I got a bed to myself and the King size is huge! I am so used to sleeping in a twin xl bed I never roamed around haha. The bathroom though is what impressed me the most with the toilet's dual flush system, sink water is perfectly pressured, not too weak or too strong, and the shower head is adjustable with different settings. They provide loads of towels, lotion, and soap in case you forgot any! The bed is soft and inviting, you can control the AC/heater in your room and the pillows are very soft! The second room I checked in to with my friends was pretty much the same thing, just two queen beds that were super comfortable and plenty of room to move around in and all your luggage. The other thing that impressed me is their breakfast, Pancakes, French Toast, Sausage, and eggs oh my! Coffee and OJ were served as well. Can't go wrong with a full breakfast with seating a plentiful. The pricing on this was also why we decided to stay here. For 4 people for 2 nights it was only $70/person total! Can't beat that deal at all. Everything else seemed pretty standard, parking was never difficult even with a full house, there were spots left over. The hotel is going through a remodel and boy does it need it. Looks like the carpet was changed last in the 80s. It smells of mildew and Swamp Ass, my bed smelled of last nights guest and The mattress had more lumps then my moms mashed potatoes, the furniture looks like it was pulled from curbside pickup, but hey lets not get picky it was quiet, thank God because you can here your neighbor snoring. It's possible their might be an hourly rate. All I can say is In-Joy! read more

This should not be rated a PLUS location! The rooms are decently furnished but not very clean. The carpet in the lobby and on the 2nd floor is very dirty...the hallway reeked like old smoke and skunk. The downstairs lounge gets loud and the thumping of the bass can be heard in the upstairs rooms. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel - to be honest I didn't trust the food preparation after seeing the lack of housekeeping and layers of dust and grime throughout the building. The fitness center is completely sub par. A broken elliptical, one bike, and a weight machine. The only reason this place gets two stars instead of one is because the service was very friendly. I booked this place through Priceline and could not cancel my reservation otherwise I would have switched hotels immediately. read more

We arrived at this hotel and were not sure about the surrounding area, however when we pulled in they had a fountain in the front and when we walked in everything was very clean and nice in the lobby. On the one side of the lobby they had complimentary fresh coffee, fruit, and fresh cookies. The staff welcomed us in and were very friendly and accommodating considering I had a weird request for them haha. Our rental car had someone's perfume all over the seat belts and the car and it was Awful, so I told them about it and they grabbed me a rag and some cleaning solution and helped me out to try and clean out our car. Our check in was very nice and the woman at the front desk, Susan I believe was extremely friendly and helpful along with the other men that were there and were willing to help us out with our smelly rental car. They provide you with a paper showing you the wifi password, and explaining that they have happy hour from 5-8 and serve breakfast every morning. This place stood out to me because they paid attention to the small details. They even had a message saying they would accommodate you if you had to leave before their morning breakfast hours, they would provide a packed breakfast for you! They also had the fresh complimentary items mentioned earlier. The rooms were clean and they had many plugs around the room to charge all of our many technologies haha. They also had a sewing kit in the bathroom! I thought that was so smart, and awesome The other things we really liked was that they had a fridge and a microwave in the room. One thing that is tough when eating out when on vacation is that you have leftovers that you literally just have to throw away because you have nowhere to put them, but this place had that covered. The staff was also very nice when we asked for plates and forks, and even when we asked for a late checkout :) We really liked the staff here. All in all we would definitely stay here again. This is a sketchy hotel. There are layers of dust and grime on the tables and furniture. Eeew. The front desk people aren't welcoming at all, especially Susan. Aside from her lack of speaking skills, she is rude and unaccommodating--exactly what you DON'T want from hospitality management. The people working the breakfast area were OK, but they were helping themselves to the food, drinking the coffee, and eating the pastries while we were getting our breakfast. Ummm, maybe you should eat your breakfast before work? Or maybe you should eat elsewhere (ahem, NOT in front of the guests and NOT where the guests are getting their food)? The actual area where they serve food is a bit small, so with the hotel guests and the workers eating in that area, it was not a welcoming atmosphere. The french toast was the best thing they had. Best Western showed up as an unnamed hotel, three stars for $79 a night and we have had good luck with those offers in the past so I bit. When the booking was complete I read the reviews on Yelp and was dismayed. Do not believe them. It is a three star hotel. Service was excellent, the room nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good. My husband and I stayed here for a week and were less than impressed. I usually don't complain about hotels or anything really. Usually my yelp reviews are for places that I like, but I would recommend another similarly priced 3 star hotel in this area. Here are the positives: - Comfy king bed for those who like a soft bed - Free breakfast buffet with many choices - Wi-fi was very accessible - Pantene hair products - Although we were close to the freeway, the windows were well insulated against noise. And now the negatives: - Funky smelling room on the dirty side - We got a few stained linens and towels - VERY loud A/C/heater - If you stay on the second floor, be prepared to walk your luggage up a flight of stairs (not that big of a deal) - Loud doors on every room that slam shut with a loud bang (and can wake a person) - Housekeeping opened our door at around 8 am instead of knocking, then closed the door, waited 10 minutes and called to ask us if we wanted our room cleaned. - If you weren't out of your room by the time that they did rounds to clean rooms (usually 10 am weekday or weekend), they assume that you don't want your room cleaned. - If you told them that you would like new towels and/or toiletries after not having the room cleaned, they acted like it was a huge deal and please come down to the front desk to pick those up. read more

I stayed here for 6 days as I was getting settled into the Mountain View area for a new job, and I do not recommend anybody stay here unless you are simply passing through. The hotel is clean, the free breakfast is pretty good, and the location near major freeways is convenient. However, there are many negatives: First off, the wi-fi is slow and unreliable. Second, the sound insulation between rooms is...well...there is none. You can hear people moving around in the room above you. In my case, you can also hear them doing other things...quite loudly. Third, our door handle fell off the first time we tried to leave the room. We had to call the front desk to let us out! It got fixed quickly, but still, nothing worse that literally not being able yo get out of your own room. Fourth, the parking is horrible. There is clearly not enough parking for every guest. On a Saturday night, if the restaurant in the hotel is busy, you will not find any parking in the hotel's parking lot. Paying guests returning at night are forced to park on dark side-streets. The area around the hotel isn't unsafe or bad in any way, but it's also not the nicest area in Milpitas/San Jose. Be careful. Lastly, the staff that work there, especially the maids, are loud amongst themselves. Our room was near the lobby, and around 10am one morning the person behind the front desk was having a loud conversation with a cleaning lady who was in one of the rooms nearby. That's not very professional. I've stayed at better Best Westerns before, and this place is a let down. It's good if you're just staying overnight, but for an extended stay, I'd look elsewhere first. Just left this hotel, we were pretty happy with our stay. We weren't expecting much so we were pleasantly surprised. The property itself is very well kept and clean. The front desk staff was very welcoming and even gave my two little dogs some treats. I always appreciate when people treat my dogs like they are welcomed. Upon arrival there is also some coffee and cookies to your right. Our room was on the first floor, very clean. Bed was comfy and big. The room had a microwave and refrigerator. It's just an okay somewhat dingy hotel. The breakfast was great as was the lady that maintained the dining area. The first room we got reeked of smoke but the desk staff helped us to get another room. The rooms are nice looking but very stuffy with poor ventilation. If you open a window you have to hear the loud noise and constant traffic from Calaveras and interstate 880. The a/c is loud. We did not get a good night of rest here :( read more

What a GREAT first impression to be checked by Micheal at the front desk! His customer service skills are exceptional! Our room was very clean, with comfy beds, and a charming balcony. Then, it got better. I was so surprised to see such an large buffet breakfast spread! Now of days, most hotels send you packing with a box filled with a granola bar, yogurt, and fruit. AND I was greeted by another stellar employee! Francisco the host/waitperson was very friendly, everything was clean and tidy. Then... dun dun, dunnnn... the third night, sadly it went downhill fast! The owner's son worked the front desk for a couple of shifts. He should NOT work in the hospitality field at ALL! He was so rude and arrogant! He smoked in front of the lobby/hotel entrance. He answered the phone like the ex-girlfriend he just dumped was calling him, totally annoyed. We did not see him smile one time. He was just rude and clearly did not want to be there. With a sigh of relief, the regular staff returned that evening! Nice place, needs help with costumer service. Can use some help with the breakfast... soggy eggs weak coffee (real watery) and says kid friendly but had a couple issues! Front desk needs help with contacting the right customers! I got several calls asking are my kids jumping on the bed and jumping around. My kids ??? This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. I was here for two nights and am very happy I picked this hotel. The room was big and bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The lounge was fun to hang out in and the breakfast had omelets to order for the free breakfast. I definitely recommend this hotel. Don't let the remodeling scare you off. It definitely didn't take away from the nice stay. read more
