If the food in the restaurant on the first floor improves somewhat, it could become sufferable, but at least it's overpriced. The wait staff is pleasant and friendly and sometimes even remembers your requests all the way back to the kitchen. So much for the good part of this review.
The bar on the twelfth floor is the primary topic for this review. It bills itself as having a fabulous sunset view. It doesn't disappoint on that count. There are some incredibly beautiful sunsets looking out to the west. The wait staff is friendly and reasonably attentive.
That's about the end of the good news. Now the rest of the story. All three times we were there (hoping each time it would get better), we were nearly alone. One evening there were another six or eights patrons, but most tables were empty. Hmmm ... I wonder why.
I ordered a glass of wine and found out. It was priced like a fine French burgundy, but it was cheap garbage wine that had been opened three days before. Then I nearly fell out of my chair when it arrived in the cutest little "Barbie" glass. If that was a wine glass, I'm a member of the Flying Wallendas. The glass was intended for aperitifs, not wine. They might as well have served the wine in a shot glass. What a deal - pay twice the price for half the wine which was only half as good as a wine that should have cost half as much.
Oh yea ... Did I mention they have great sunsets? read more
