I was truly blessed for being a "Santa's Helper" for three hours at Oak Ridge last night. I had so much fun helping the kids, make the Olaf ornament, from the movie Frozen. I loved giving the reindeer feed to the kids to feed Santa's eight famous reindeer. Loved the snow machine outside and seeing the kids light up with joy, that it was snowing. The Christmas characters, cookie/sweets station and the "real deal" hot chocolate. I think I got more out of it than the kids ! Lights and decorations were beyond beautiful. It was truly a Christmas Wonderland. A must see from the youngest to the oldest. Dec 5 and 6th 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dec 7th 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Saint George's Chapel was founded in 1719 and rebuilt after a fire in 1792. It has since been…read moreupdated and the restored to its original colonial interior. The cemetery caught my eye and then the historical marker. There is much to see here and many extremely old headstones. Many of the stones have aged to the point they are illegible but symbols and such are still detectable. And while I did want to take a rubbing, I just took pictures including the largest one of Revolutionary War leader John Dagworthy.. The marker reads, "Before the settlement of the boundary dispute between Delaware and Maryland, this area was considered to lie in Maryland. On July 5, 1755, responding to the request of members of the Church of England residing in the upper portion of Worcester Parish, the Maryland Assembly enacted legislation authorizing the purchase of land and construction of a "Chapel of Ease" to serve their spiritual needs. A two acre tract at this location was then purchased from Walter Evans. On June 30, 1757, the newly-completed chapel was formally received from the builders by the vestry of Worcester Parish. It was named to honor the English prince who would become King George III." "By 1850 the condition of the chapel had deteriorated, and services were discontinued. Efforts to restore the church to active use were unsuccessful. Annual services were held here for a time, but for many years the building was maintained solely as a historic site by the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware. In 1928 the Sussex County Laymen's League funded the complete restoration of the old church, and a rededication service was held here on June 30, 1929." "At the urging of numerous persons concerned about the preservation of the structure, the State of Delaware received ownership of the property in 1967. Major renovations were subsequently undertaken with funding provided by the State and National Park Service. Prince George's Chapel was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on March 24, 1971. Of particular note is the grave of General John Dagworthy, an officer in the French & Indian and Revolutionary wars who was an early and ardent supporter of the church, and for whom this community is named." The choirs are really good and sing a mix of traditional hymns and what you here on gospel radio stations. Rev. Dr. Watson preaches sound biblical messages in a story-like fashion, in cadence and at times with call and response. What I really like is that the Pastor and his wife stand at the back door and greet everyone as they leave. There are two services, we attend the 9:30am service as the 7:30am is too early. We enjoy the worship experience First Baptist provides.

How do you say good bye to a love one. You don't! Its hard to be able to say good bye or hey I'll…read moresee you again. But what makes it harder is when you have eveything set up so you can try to say your good byes and move on. But you have someone tell you, oh sorry I know your family choose this day and have everything set up for your goodbyes to be told that its been cancelled. No not a few days or even a day before the funeral but an hour. Like wow how do you tell the rest of the family, or friends that the church decided to cancel it an hour before it started. Like who cares that you already drove hours or have something else planed after for the family. You don't get to say your goodbyes yet, now you have to wait a whole another week because Watson wants more $$$$ out of you because it snowed, and don't care that you said you and your family will clear the parking lot of the snow because you want more $$$, like a family doesn't have enough to worry about losing you a loved one. Mr. Watson didn't cancel the other event they had going on that day at the church, but canceled our time to say goodbye, when the parking lot was cleared of all the snow. They already got $$ out of you to have the service which they are not buring him due to he was in the service. But not only do you keep your man who faught for your freedom locked up in a freezer even longer because of your greed you also keep someone who was a paster at your church that you owe rescept to, but instead you were greedy. I hope that you do not pick this place to say goodbye to a loved one because they do not help the family in making it easier but they actually make it way harder and could care less all because Watson wants $$$ to put in his own pocket like he didn't already make $$$ of us for his service. Sorry for your loss, but please pick some where else for your goodbyes and their resting place. Unless you want them to sit in a feezer for over 2 weeks and not rest in peace. R.I.P
