Just to be clear, Your Options Medical Center operates as a Christian Ministry to women and couples…read morefacing unexpected pregnancies (source: www.partnersofyom.org) They are "crisis pregnancy center" and are not an abortion clinic, and they don't refer to abortion clinics either. Because there are only nurses on staff, YOMC is limited to offering free high sensitivity pregnancy tests, and non-invasive ultrasound. But all services are free, which is nice. If you are early in your pregnancy (Eg, less 2-3 weeks since your missed period) there isn't going to be much to see. Just an undifferentiated blob. If they don't see a blob, you will probably be referred to/should go see a doctor to investigate a possible miscarriage/ectopic pregnancy. If you are thinking about getting an abortion you might as well go to a clinic, and get your pregnancy test and ultrasound over there, so you can schedule a procedure the same day if you decide you want one. Abortions get more complicated and expensive the longer you wait.

I came to this place on November 20th after a positive pregnancy test, because it advertises that…read moreit fully supports a woman's right to choose without pressure, coercion, or judgement. They called and tried to push my appointment back another week or two, and I had to beg them not to. First, I was separated from my partner. I was then told by someone there called the "patient advocate" that since this is a "holistic" center, there were some required questions to ask, and I was asked about my religion. I then got a lecture about god, and how having an abortion would affect my relationship with him, and my boyfriend. When I asked for my boyfriend to come in with me because I didn't want to be alone in the room with her anymore, the patient advocate told us to get married. The patient advocate then told me that I could see an arm, a leg, or a face in the toilet after, or bleed to death if I decided to have an abortion. When I was taken to the back, my pregnancy test was negative and the first test had been a false result, so I went through all of that horrible fear mongering before they even confirmed the result. This place takes advantage of women in vulnerable and terrifying situations, and needs to advertise that they are a pro-life religious center, so that women can choose to receive that kind of care if they wish. They have taken down every single one of the reviews that my friends, and partner have left on my behalf. Please only come here of you are looking to carry out a pregnancy, and want religious care.

Choosing an adoption agency is such a huge decision! Searching was incredibly stressful, however we…read morechose Adoption Resources for the following reasons: 1) their fee structure was variable based on if your placement came from them versus if you found a placement from an out of state agency (this felt more fair to us than other agencies that change a high fee even though you may need to select out of state agencies and pay them fees as well), 2) they had adoption work shops while you are going through the process and offered post-placement groups and support, 3) everyone seemed very kind and knowledgeable. We are happy to say we definitely chose the right agency! Everyone is an absolute pleasure to work with and has supported us along the way. They helped place us with our daughter who is more than we ever expected or could have hoped for. We cannot thank them enough, and for anyone on the fence - go to one of their free monthly info-sessions. It really helps give you an overview of the process, but more importantly will give you a feeling for the amazing agency and people who work there.

I have only good things to…read moresay about them - so many positive things that words would fail to capture my sentiments completely. Their staff are experienced, imminently qualified, passionate about adoption, and thorough and attentive during all phases and facets of a logistically complex process. They regularly host seminars with guest speakers to provide information to prospective parents about various options and decisions that must be weighed, interpreting medical records, and understanding the experiences of birth mothers. They provide coaching on building a compelling prospective parent profile and even on newborn baby basics. This level of support extends beyond education to a more personal level, where we have found each and every staff member to be unfailingly compassionate, supportive, and patient, even during the most challenging of times. Post placement, they continue their engagement by hosting new parents groups - an opportunity to share experiences, challenges, and build a community of adoptive families. After working with many different agencies and firms of varying sizes and approaches, I can say that our experiences with Adoption Resources stands out above all in terms of their support throughout the entire process.
