Nothing fancy for me. I know I have used their drive-thru's but I still wasn't super impressed. All I know it's a place you either LOVE or Meh/ can't say Hate - but wouldn't go back... so for us, we don't go back. There are so many GREAT coffee places that we'd rather just go. The coffee is nice and strong, a little too sweet for my taste, so I get the white mocha with half a scoop and it's perfect. The acai bowl with blueberries, banana, granola and honey is fresh, delicious and addictive. read more

I love Better Buzz - just not the Encinitas location so much. The quality is inconsistent and the customer service could be better. There are times that I wait for 5-7 minutes and it's not that busy. Earlier this week, I ordered a large hot black tea latte. It was luke warm and there was so much foam on the top that the actual tea only filled 70% of the large cup. Unfortunately I had already driven away when I took a sip and couldn't drink it until I got home to heat it up in the microwave, which is when I realized I didn't even get a full drink once I removed the lid. This is the second time in a month this has happened. In fairness, the first time, I caught it before I got in my car and they did make me a new drink when I returned to complain. This time I was in a hurry and didn't check my drink as I thought the last time was a fluke. It's not a big deal but the drinks are expensive- quite a bit more than Starbucks and Coffee Bean so I expect more consistency. I have been to the Better Buzz in San Marcos many times and never had any issues with quality or customer service. I am going to drive to the San Marcos Better Buzz even though it's farther. I hope the Encinitas location can improve as I visit Encinitas often and would love to buy a tea but not when I can't get consistent quality. read more

Super cute!! I love the decor and everything about it! Down to the real espresso mugs. The avocado toast is absolutely delicious and I love that they serve organic coffee. My first time I went I ordered a chai tea latte(my go to at Lofty) it was sooo sweet!! It tasted like melted down ice cream, I ended up throwing it out after a couple sips. I was next recommended the "best drink ever" but half sweetened, another friend said it's too sweet. I got it and wasn't impressed, again, I couldn't even finish it. It was still extremely sweet and didn't have much flavor. My friend got a normal latte and it was ok, I was told a long time ago that you know it's a good latte when you can put a design in it. These are just foamy like Starbucks. I'll stick to goodonya and lofty for coffee but definitely go there for the toast! read more

This place has the best avocado toast ever! Big, thick slices of multi-grain bread, topped with avocado, and cherry tomatoes with arugula. I keep the feta cheese off and add a poached egg, and I am in heaven. I'm only giving 3 stars because Better Buzz is good, but overpriced. They are always busy, and they generally don't seem to have their sh*t together staff wise, which answers the question as to why they are always hiring. I'll still go because I'm a sucker for avocado toast on the go. PS. Don't get the chai latte unless you want 3 days worth of sugar. read more

This is the best coffee shop in Encinitas' Main Street with so many great options. Yes the lines can be long, but I've never waited more than five minutes for my coffee. The tables are usually full but just don't plan on trying to work in a small place, there is a great outdoor mall across the street where you can take your coffee and work, or walk around the main street. I visit Better Buzz multiple times every year when I visit Encinitas, and buy their Vanilla Powder they use in the "Best Drink Ever" and use it at home. A must try when visiting! read more

I loved the look of this place! I had high hopes for the coffee. My sister and I got an Americano and it was the worst I have ever had-I hate to say it! I didn't even put cream or sugar in it. Tasted like water. I would have gone back to get three extra shots, but we grabbed the coffee on the go. It's a bummer because there were so many other coffee shops we could have chosen. I'm a big chai latte fan and theirs was one of the best I've had; very creamy, not too spicy, and mixed right there in front of me (not like at Starbucks where they just pour it out of a carton). Despite a very long weekend line, the service was quick. Everyone in our group loved their drinks - from regular ice coffee; hot latte; Dirty Chai and Best Drink Ever. We took ours to go and went down to the beach to chill as all the seats were taken with those eating breakfast. But glancing at the food, I definitely must come back for breakfast, lunch or even a snack. read more

Great ambiance - great coffee- the checkout is beyond slow especially with one register considering the volume this place gets. It would be of great service to their customers to get a second checkout and have them both going at the same time. Delicious mochas (hot or cold), but sadly never anyplace to sit because all the seats are taken for hours and hours by people who have come to use the Wi-fi there. We go there often and no matter what time of day it is, the place is crowded with no seats available. They have delicious sandwiches, too, the caprese being my all time favorite. I'd give it more stars though if I didn't always have to sit out in the parking lot in my car to eat my sandwich and drink my amazing cup of coffee. read more
