Beverly Bar was an amazing date night for hubby and me. We made a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday, and we were seated right away. Our server Pearson was attentive and helpful -- and Willie made us the best cocktails. We shared a caesar salad and had the Wagyu pepperoni pizza -- so, so good! We finished our meal with the butter cake and a promise to Pearson that we'd be back. ;-) What's also super convenient is that it's located right next to the public parking lot, which ended up being a very pleasant surprise. This restaurant was quite the gem the moment I walked in. There's this intimate ambiance - perfect for a romantic evening out. The menu is quite simple but offers a wide selection of American cuisine and each dish I tried was nothing short of spectacular. The burrata was a show stopper. The cheese melted in my mouth paired with their amazing toasted ciabatta's crunchiness. This is a must order item. The hamachi crudo is always a hit and the presentation was beautiful. Another great starter to prepare for the main course. I'd also recommend their wagyu beef pepperoni pizza. It is slightly on the greasier side but the crust was so crispy that it paired quite well despite it being a heavier dish. To end the evening, I tired their infamous warm butter dessert which needs to be ordered in the beginning due to preparation time. While I love sweets, I found it tag bit too sweet for my taste. The cake itself was moist which I can see why it's a popular choice but I probably should have opted for their other dessert - berry sundae instead. If you're a sweet tooth fanatic, then this might be a great option. Overall, great addition to Beverly Hills. Parking is difficult but if you're lucky you can find street parking. We randomly stopped in on a Thursday afternoon during our day date. Their HH starts at 2 p.m., so that was an immediate pull. Service here is extremely friendly and pleasant. They were very welcoming upon arrival and gave us our choice of seating. It's not a huge place and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, LDR, was great and asked us if we wanted the buttercake because it took 45 minutes. It was my bday, so why not!? We ordered the Artichoke Hummus, Shrimp Tacos, garlic fries, Burratta, Summer's Meow (white wine sangria), and margarita. Their happy hour prices are a few dollars off the regular price, so it's not that much of a deal, but we enjoyed it. I loved the sangria and found the rest of the food good, but not great. But that Butter Cake was PHENOMENAL! It was cooked with a little crunch on the outside and an amazing moistness on the inside, and it paired so well with the ice cream and Carmel drizzle..that was a wonderful surprise! BEWARE OF HORRIBLE SERVICE. I have been ordering from here for months for our office staff and ESPECIALLY for our patient's lunch. Food is great, so we decided to have lunch here with the staff today. Hostess was nice, then we got seated by the rudest, most condescending waitress. She was throwing menus and utensils across the bar! I have never experienced such bizarre and psychotic behavior at a a restaurant ESPECIALLY in such a prime location of Beverly Hills. The other male waiter was also very short with us and condescending and the only reason I didn't complain or bother commenting on their behavior was for the fear of spitting in my food (plus it's not like I'm ever coming back). Newsflash - your customers don't work FOR YOU, and we still were very respectful, because there is no point in lowering our class to meet the standards of the employees of this bar/restaurant. read more

I met two friends at the Beverly Bar for brunch. One of my friends had previously visited for cocktails, loved it, and suggested we try brunch there. We began with cocktails: I ordered a Summertime Meow, which is a delicious white sangria, while my friends chose a Chocolate Martini. To start, we shared the avocado hummus. We had the option to order from the lunch or brunch menu, so I opted for a pepperoni pizza, and one of my friends ordered the Chef's Lox Pizza. Unfortunately, I forgot what my other friend ordered and didn't take a picture, but I'm sure it was good! The restaurant had a laid-back, chill vibe, and they were playing some fantastic music--R&B mixed with funky tunes from the '70s and '80s. For parking, I used the garage next door to the restaurant, which wasn't very busy since it was a Sunday morning. Came here on Martini Monday and was so impressed by the service, food, and cocktails! The steak sandwich was Devine, served with truffle arugula and truffle aioli. A dream!! And if it's not already obvious how much I love truffle, I also ordered the burrata arugula and truffle pizza. Served with fresh black truffle, I was in heaven. I appreciated the generous flavors. I was really impressed with the spicy tuna and crispy rice. The best crispy rice I've ever had, with (of course) a TRUFFLE avocado puree!! Wow! I have never had anything like it before. I could've eaten rounds of that plate. Located a block from Rodeo Dr the ambiance of this place is elegant and elevated. They set the mood lighting in the evening and it gets real nice and cozy. I was really excited to find that a local bar was opening where once was a coffee shop. Much to my surprise, it was a complete remodel. The rebuild was beautifully done, with bar seating, tables and booths, and even outdoor seating with heat lamps. It is conveniently located next to a city parking lot which offers free 1 hour parking and $5 flat rate for vehicles entering after 6pm. Meters also surround the street. Currently has some construction on Camden so it's not looking too cute to dine outside next to a bulldozer but that's not the reason why I removed some stars. The customer service seems to lack. We sat at the bar and the bartender was not at all personable, no greeting, no how are ya. Minimal words. I just hate that kind of experience. Being friendly and courteous should be the epicenter of great customer service and at the very least you can pretend to be enjoying. If it wasn't for that, I'd rate the place higher. They are closed Mondays. Happy Hour is from 2pm - 6pm. Love that they had Chimay on tap. The roasted shishito peppers have a nice spice to them. Have you ever been on Instagram and been bombarded by ad after ad that's sort of interesting, and you finally give in, and it sucks. Well, that for me is Beverly Bar, except it's exceptional. What really got me through the door was their Dine LA deal. For $35, you get three full courses, which just might be the best deal in town. Since there were two of us, we ended up trying a decent portion of the Dine LA menu: My Order Roasted Shishito Peppers The Beverly Burger Berry Sundae My Wife's Order Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice Shrimp Tacos Cookie Butter Cheesecake If you like dark, modern bars, this is for you. Thankfully, they get the lighting perfect. It's not so dark that you need the flashlight on your phone to read the menu, but it is dark enough to set the mood if you're on a date. The ambiance is aided by a music playlist that leans more towards throwbacks and other types of music from that team. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night was the quality of the food. Everything tasted great. I, in particular, loved the Shishito Peppers. The lime combined with the crunch from the pistachios was next level. The burger blended all of the flavors wonderfully, and the fries were nice and crisp despite being a medium width. The shrimp tacos were spectacular. It was a perfect blend of flavors, and the fish was soft/tender on the inside while being nice and crispy on the outside. The corn tortillas they came in were also not dry, which was a pleasant surprise. The tacos are also huge! The cookie butter cheesecake was unique, and the cookie butter combo with the graham cracker crust was amazing. If there was one aspect of the food we didn't care for, it was the red wine sauce that came with the sundae. The reduction was entirely too strong when it was on the wafer alone; however, in the ice cream, it paired well with the berries. Now, if the food was pretty good, then the drinks were phenomenal. The Beverly Bar might have the best cocktail menu in the downtown Beverly Hills area. I don't know who the mixologist is, but they deserve some recognition because there are several higher-priced bars in the area, and they aren't putting out quality like this. The only reason I'm taking a start off the review is the initial service was a little off. Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting 15-20 minutes for our table. Then, it took another 10 minutes for our server to come by. Thankfully, we had some patience, and everything worked out in the long run. All in all, I highly recommend The Beverly Bar. We'll undoubtedly be back so they can have a chance at adding that fifth star. read more

I was looking for a new spot to try out during DineLA and ended up coming here on a Saturday evening. I was able to get a table without a reservation, but it seems that they only sit people without reservations outside instead of inside. Both the indoor and outdoor space looked nice, and they turned on heaters outside. Their DineLA menu was $35 for 3 courses (same option for lunch and dinner), and it was a good deal! I tried the Avocado Hummus, Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Beverly Smash Burger, Warm Butter Cake, and Salted Caramel Budino. We were also there during Happy Hour (2-6pm) and ordered fries and a few drinks off of the HH menu. The portions were huge and everything was made well. The dishes that really stood out to me were the Avocado Hummus (I liked the crisp chickpeas that went with the creamy avocado hummus) and the Warm Butter Cake. The cake had lots of contrasting textures (between the cake itself and the ice cream); it was quite heavy, but so decadent! Service wasn't bad overall. The staff was friendly, but we had to flag down a waitress or waiter to get their attention between each course. I really enjoyed grabbing food during happy hour here. The truffle parmesan fries were SO addictive. I've never had fries with shaved truffles on top until coming here. Tuna rice cake - pillowy rice with a crispy exterior, topped with an avocado crepe and tuna tartar. Soy sauce for dipping. This was exquisite and my favorite dish of the evening. I would return just for this dish. Shishito peppers - perfect char. Pepita/lemon zest gremolata was crisp and buttery and strong lemon zest flavor. Must remember this trick for pasta. Truffle Parmesan fries - generous shaving. Crispy fries. Chef's Smashburger - crispy burger with plentiful toppings, but the bottom bun was soggy upon arrival. Great flavor, but very messy. I had a late lunch here and I enjoyed it very much. I had the tuna tartare which came with fried wontons and fresh tuna. So delicious. The Fried Chicken Sandwich was so filling and so good. I highly suggest getting this here. I was on the fence about getting this and the pizza so I'll have to come back next time and get the pizza. My husband got the steak frite and the steak was cooked so well and tasted so good too. Both dishes come with fries and the fries were lightly seasoned and actually had flavor. For my drink I had a glass of Rose which was so fitting for the meal. For dessert we had butter cake and the cake was soft on the inside and the crust was slightly crispy. Since the cake was warm it was topped with a heaping vanilla ice cream scoop; oh-so-perfect dessert. You want to try this out. To end the entire meal we shared an Americano. If you don't want to eat and just want a drink or two they have a full bar available here. The staff was so kind throughout my meal. They checked on the table at the right times. We said we were splitting it and they kindly split the salad on to two plates. The roasted chickpeas were a perfect touch to the salad. The steak frites was topped with a delicious red Chimichurri it was so tasty and tender. It also came with delicious truffle fries! The wagyu beef pepperoni pizza was my favorite item on the menu. It was drizzled with hot honey on top. Wow so good I would stop here just for the pizza. The bread pudding was also really good it had a caramel drizzle and ice cream on top. We shared the avocado hummus as an appetizer, and the portion was very generous. It was topped with crispy chicken peas and came with a side of carrots, cucumber slices and pita bread. The hummus looked appetizing but unfortunately was quite tasteless, even when more salt was added. For main courses we ordered the smash burger which was very good, and the shrimp tacos. The tacos were good but had a bit too much sauce in the slaw. Our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable, and is a good place to just drop in as-you-are, or to get dressed up a bit if you prefer. There is plenty of parking nearby in the city parking garages.
