All I knew was conventional talk therapy and medication was not working for my medication resistant depression and Major Depressive Disorder. I was literally paralyzed for a year of my life! It took everything I had to get out of bed to just do the smallest things in my life. I finally reached out to my psychiatrist and told them my current talk therapy was just not working for me. I needed something different with a new approach. Mind, body, soul. He directed me to ketamine therapy for my depression. I reached out to Radiance and made an appointment. I had a two hour appointment with the doctor before any of my ketamine treatment started. He explained the entire process to me from start to finish. I felt comfortable to ask questions and did so as I needed to. My first session was an amazing experience, and I felt supported through the entire process, from start to finish. I felt well taken care of. By my next therapy, I had already started feeling the positive effects from ketamine treatments. I walked in for my second treatment and everybody knew my name! I had already started to form a relationship with all of these wonderful staff members! The process was so fluid and never felt clinical in any way. As the weeks went on, I began to open up and feel more and more comfortable shared the struggles I was having in my life. As more time went by, I was starting to figure out how to use the environment and communication with the staff to further enhanced my ketamine journey. I started keeping a journal, processed my feelings before, and after my session, doing breath, work, guided meditation, or just plain crying. No matter my state, I felt genuinely safe and supported. I always knew when I pushed my call button, someone would be in my room right away. I was welcomed every time I walked in the door. As the sessions progressed, I made huge strides. My depression started to lift, the anxiety didn't feel like it was wrapping around my neck like a noose. My attorney asked me to have my psychiatrist write a letter stating the amount of distress I endured during this time and recommend to not have any additional jail time due to my mental state. I have suffered severe ptsd, anxiety, nightmares, and insomnia since this incident. Dr Stoll refused to write the letter and additionally refused to renew my ADHD medication that I have taken daily for years and helps me function on a regular basis. She has now put me in the position to warn future patients that she may judge your personal journey and traumas rather than help you maintain your medications. After what he and his staff pulled on October 20th, there was zero care quality. In fact, he did harm. It was the office that lied to myself and all of his patients so the office experience was poor. He went out for surgery, and we scheduled an appointment for six weeks out. I called Monday before my Wednesday appointment and was told that a provider was covering for him but that she was only in the clinic on Mondays. I left work in Carson City and hurried up to Reno. I was out of my medications that day. She was a nurse practitioner and seemed to know what she was talking about. Four weeks later on Monday, October 27th, I was to see either her or Dr. Assad. On Monday, the 20th, I got a call from his office. They were canceling my appointment because the provider had quit. When I asked when Dr. Assad would be back in the office, they told me he retired. They referred that was taking his patients. I asked Jasmine if they were accepting new patients. She assured me they were and gave me their phone number. When I called, I got voicemail. They returned my call and told me that there wasn't a doctor in the clinic that Monday; that they hadn't been told about any client referrals from Assad's office; and they didn't even know who he was. They said that their website crashed due to all the traffic from Assad's patients; told me to fill out a form and email it back to them which I did. Turns out they're an alcohol and addiction recovery clinic and only do video calls. You can't refill my medications my medications on a video call. It must be done in person. I hope he never practices again. He's done irreparable harm to his patients. Most had to go to ERs to get refills that day. That's expensive and, generally, they don't give full refills. I found an urgent care that would do so but when I told them the medication, they would only dispense three of my 28 pills normally given. M I've never had a doctor betray my trust like this. If he had a conscience, this would bother him. I don't know if there's anything that can be done other than posting this. I'm pursuing all avenues.

My first adventure trying Ketamine and I did not do enough research on my part…read more Initial consult over phone w/Katherine was pleasant as I really liked her on phone and in person as she's genuinely sweet and listens. First consult w/Dr Watson for 30 min was informative on background of drug but didn't really get into 'why' I'm trying it. I did 3 session and each one was worse than the last as Tara the nurse, ie Dr Watson wife, used the needle for IVs as a weapon! 1st session: after treatment she helped me out of chair as said I could be dizzy and was nice and provided water 2nd session: I ended my 'journey' and heard nurse talking loudly even thru headphones and sat alone for 15 min; i pressed 'help' button and asked if possibly she'd forgotten about me and was met w/a snarky comment 'I was with another patient' to which I did hear her talking w/her and after that comment she just let me sit there alone for 10 min alone w/o saying anything so I went to bathroom and front desk asking for water. I asked to speak w/Dr ( for questions re something else) and Tara came out being really sweet, rubbing my back as she must of thought I was gonna complain. 3rd: Nurse Wratchet used same arm for IV as 2-days ago and I asked 'shouldn't you use other arm' she was curt and said 'no'. She couldn't find a vein she claims and jabbed needle into OUTSIDE of elbow and hurt like a mutha!!!Ended up using other arm and my arm was sore for a week as think she hit a ligament or something! End of session she again just opened door, turned on light w/o saying a word, no water offered and left me to sit and never after all the sessions did anyone ever come to ask how I was doing, take vitals or anything. I just walked out into parking lot. As far as they knew I could've been driving home! Overall, since then I've interviewed other clinics in town and they do provide vitals thruout session and chat w/you afterwards and ask you questions and have counselors in staff. I guess this clinic is basically a small, very small 3 staff operation family run business. I might add Nurse Wratchet used a cheap wrist BP cuff which always read high and when I told her my BP is always much lower she scoffed! No vitals during or after treatment. I do not recommend this clinic even tho Katherine is great as is the setup, but the nurse who you must deal with is not fit to be an undertaker in my opinion!

All the while they are putting lies in your file to make you sound more messed up than you are. This place, i feel wants to help their clients, but at the same time, it feels to drum up money by making them sound "sicker" than they are. It feels everyone is labled in the same category. They do a lot of talking, giving ideas, but they lack in giving you the emotional tools, ideas or encouragement to get well. They do not focus on anything positive. They(he) try and keep you in a negative emotional place. They are a business, plain and simple. They are selling goods, pills and people. These things others might need. But, in my experiences being built up verbally after a very abusive upbringing, was needed. Then there is the trama of brain surgery for a cancerous brain tumor. The long hospital stay and the trama of my entire life changing. Then, the recent trama of loosing my mother. That one, i had no one at this facility to call. The most trama filled situation and no one was there. In my session that followed, i was a mess... that session a blur. The only thing i remember is having the therapist say sorry, and give my s number to h isoffice incase a emergency happened again. And all I realized, I got through that without meds and without him. I'm so Blessed that I have my faith, I have Jesus, my dad, brother, my pastor and my church! And none of them make up lies about out me. I was a sitting duck for being manipulated and falling for this kind of fake for money "carring" in my opinion, it was all an act. So, I find in my file all sorts of lis about me that my "therapist" and the Phycologist put in their records. Really, really messed up stuff. Educated professionals who have known me for yrs look at what's said and are flabbergasted. "This isn't you." "Do they have the wrong person?" And all I can think of is, Proverbs 19:9 Proverbs 6:16-19 and Romans 12:19 I give it to God and let it go, moving forward. However, I also leave this for others as a warning about places like this. Not all are like this. You really need to do your research. I had some trust issues before. Now you can only imagine how I'm feeling. But im picking myself back up again. Brushing this one off. I'm starting from ground zero again, but a bit wiser in this area. My advice, if this is what reviews are partly meant for, a picture to make an informed decision. Then my advice, Avoid this place! It's part of the recent systems that promotes pills over personal growth. I believe medication is a necessity at times, but It can not be the main healing point. Don't do what I did and ignore the red flags. If your therapist greats you on a screen meeting looking like he just chugged the entire bottle of cough syrup and can't keep his eyes open at 11:00am. Dump him! To put his false record straight. 1. I'm a highly religious person and I have a church family. 2. I'm highly active in my community. Some of those activities are live streamed for defending my community regarding building codes for the disabled. 3. I have many hobbies, art, planting, singing, music, walks, and relearning to walk and function after brain surgery. I'm not married (although he said I was) I do not self harm, that would definitely defeat the whole recovering from brain cancer thing... Oh, and my "angry/ hostile mood" he indicated. I was always kind, polite, and direct when he/they asked me questions. Never once angry. And I still am not. I'm disappointed, disappointed that I wasted so much of my time driving round trip two hours, to be treated like this, to be lied about, manipulated by his kindness, and what seemed like genuine help. It doesn't feel as if he heard me, or cared. Now this experience is just one more to add to my trama box.... but it will be short lived. I've already found a great group of people. Stay far away from this place, IF you want true help.
